we where again here since 2018. the resort looks exactly like 2018. nothing is maintained, the bungalows are old and i think they don't make it the next few years. room cleaning was only every second day. we where 7 nights there and at the 5th day the stuff asked unmotivated if we wanted to have the room cleaned. an impudence regarding they came only every second day. the beachfront bungalow is placed totally amazing but and the cleaning was made good. but that's all! the stuff manager is totally arrogant, thinks she is the boss of the whole island. wrong place to work in such an environment. stuff is loud and are laughing overloud. as a guest you have the feeling to be just tolerated. stuff manager is a greedy lady which is only gentle if you spend money at the restaurant. she likes it when you let write up the expenses at the restaurant and pay when checking out. be careful not to get tricked. Almost all resorts around had upgraded and renovated theyr resorts.also we recognized that the stuff at the other restaurants/resorts where super super friendly. not and sandy bay, they only want to take your money with minimal services. the day we checked out the cleaning supplies and new towel already where put in front of our bungalow...... was like "go out here, we want to have the next client"
if the view from the bungalow to the marvelous beach weren't there we would never come back again.and if we find a similar place at koh Phangan with same beautiful beach and beachfront bungalow we say goodbye. to be fair, the two boys the new younger stuff at there bar are gentle.

Oh Sandybay you could do sooo much better! But learned nothing.....

This is not a luxury resort but a laid back place where you get all you dream of when it comes to beautiful beach scenery and Thai-vibes. It is located brilliantly at the end of the beach and there are many restaurants to choose from in 5min walk on the beach. 
The service at the resort is very good! There is a nice pool and mini bungalows for guests on the beach for shadow during the day. Really a place to relax! 
There are also a variety of bungalows to choose from. We were a family of 4 and stayed in villa 2 which has a splendid sea view and two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room. A little tired and not too clean, but if you see past this, the place is fantastic. 
I would totally recommend!

A lovely place

My husband and I have just left sandybay with around 20 family members and friends for my wedding. Gin the manager who we call mama really was like our mummy from home ❤️ all the staff were brilliant and really looked after us. The pool is fab the food was fab what more could we ask for. They put on a brilliant wedding breakfast for 46 of us no trouble. I have read reviews on here about the staff not being great but I really think it’s about how you are towards them. As soon as we arrived we created a friendly bond with them treating them with respect saying please and thank you’s etc and having a great laugh with them. I can’t thank them enough for making my family and friends experience there so great. And yes at times food can take a while to come out but it’s worth it......everyone is living in Thai time and westerners can be very impatient just chill ❤️

Love this place

Booked this hotel last year and me and my partner were really looking forward to staying here as the pictures on their website looked amazing and we booked the bungalow on the beach. I wouldn’t recommend anyone about to book this hotel, look for a different one! The staff are incredibly rude and you have to wait a considerable amount of time to be served. The rooms are soo basic. In the room it says 11am checkout but at reception it says 11:30am checkout which obviously isn’t consistent information. Speaking to other guests, they also had the same experience and had holes in their bedroom floor. For the amount of money it costs to stay here, you can get a lot more for your money elsewhere.

I don't usually write reviews but this one is well served as I rarely met such unfriendly and unwelcoming people. absolutely outrageous. I knew the islanders have their own perception of tourists but these guys must not want customers to come back. must be the sun.

We stayed here for a week in a beachfront villa. Over the years we have chosen this place purely due to the amazing beachfront location. In the past the service has been very poor however we did note an improvement in this on our most recent stay.

Located at the quiet end of Haad Yao beach, the location is first class. Big sandy beach area and very safe for children. Our beachfront villa was perfect with plenty of shade right outside our room. Meant we could lay outside in the sun on the beach whilst the baby slept. Rooms are basic but have all the essentials like air con, hot water, fridge, kettle etc.

Swimming pool also here is a nice break from the sea, however I have noted that all the chairs and loungers have been removed from the pool area which is a shame especially if sitting watching children play in the pool.

Overall, we love the location over anything which is why we will always come back. We had a wonderful holiday. Plenty of restaurants, bars, coffee shop, 7 eleven, massage places within few mins walk.

Our 3rd Stay. Location is hard to beat

Great hosts! Especially the "mother" of the place. We loved her laugh and she made us feel cozy there. Plus the pool is nice for the wakeup dive! Great food and great location. They also have a funny and friendly pig there =)
