Ko Phi Phi Don

This hostel was really bad, and I wouldn’t recommend it. We ordered a 10 persons mixed dorm, but we ended up in a 20 person dorm - because that is the only dorms they offer. The receptionist/cleaner/owner was unfriendly and almost never cleaned the room - and if she did, it wasn’t a good enough job. The AC was so cold, and the beds were horrible and hard. There are very loud karaoke bars downstairs, and they start at 11 pm to 2 am... Please stay at another hostel. We only stayed because it was the cheapest, but do yourself a treat and offer a bit more... 

Cheap and bad 

We spent two nights down there in a dorm room with about 10 super-posed beds. Positive points: It's cool, a bucket of clean water available, a place to dry laundry, clean enough. Three showers in the dorm room. Negative points: a lot of noise until 1am (we're upstairs at a reggae bar and stuck in a boxing club, it's not soundproof so we can hear everything even with quiet balls). Your night is going to depend on your roommates.

For the small budget, why not?

Everything horrible, I strongly advise you never to book in this filthy place, go to the reception and you'll find food and drinks scattered everywhere, smelly and dirty. After at least 20 minutes of waiting, this lady (who was probably sleeping) comes out of a room and asks us for the port pass and 500 baht for bail accompanies us to the room for dirty, steep and tight scales to get to this hole with a bed without even the sheets, an awful bathroom that as soon as you pee, you'd get everything out of the toilet, so we didn't even stop for a night, we immediately went down and gave ourselves bail and went out to figure out what was gross.

It's the worst place I've been in and I've been traveling for a long time. it's humid, the entrance is totally dirty and with a lot of trash. next door is a place that plays music until 2:30 a.m. I really don't recommend it.

It's horrible!

The receptionist had a very informal and inappropriate behaviour with me. I used toilet paper to blow my nose and threw it in the toilet as there was no bin and no sign saying i shouldn’t do so. The receptionist started shouting at me saying it would block the toilet even though it didn’t since it was a single piece of toilet paper. I apologised and that was it. But then she reached to me on Facebook to insult me cause I gave her a bad review.

Regarding the dorm itself, the beds are hard, literally next to each other with no curtains at the top. We had to wait 1h for check in and the room had a bad smell.

Find another hostel to stay at!

A shared habitat of 15 beds, as hard as sleeping on the floor, with dirty sheets, filthy bathrooms, we got up at 6:15 a.m. and had cut off the water. Halfway through the day we returned to pick up our belongings and the clothes we had left the day before.

The worst hostel in all of Thailand.

I'm traveling with two friends and we're more than agreeing that this is the worst hotel we've ever made in Thailand. Where do we start? We slept in a private room, the beds are almost stuck, the air conditioning is unmanageable, the mattresses are dirty and they stink and the towels. The bathroom water is yellow. But the worst thing is the lack of soundproofing and the situation (about 20m from a Thai boxing bar) don't count on sleeping before 1 hour because in your bed you'll feel like you're right in the middle of the ring.

Get out of here!

I was at the LUCKY GUEST HOUSE with my family and we had booked for 2 days, but we couldn't last more than a night. The shower was awful, so even a cockroach ran on the floor rum. Then there were blood stains on the bed and the whole room smelled like mold.

It's not disgusting.

Location is fantastic if you want to be right in the middle of all the action. The room was a bit cold and mattresses extremely uncomfortable but if you're here to party and not spend a huge amount of time sleeping it does the job and is ridiculously cheap! Staff was very friendly and spoke prefect English. Don't expect a 'hostel' though - it is literally a room off the end of a little street so no security whatsoever.

Partying backpacker review

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting something amazing as it is the cheapest hostel on booking.com for Phi Phi, however this really was awful. I was in the upstairs room which had 20 beds, and three shower rooms. It just looked and felt grubby! The beds, I’m pretty convinced did not have a mattress, felt like a sheet had been put over a slab of concrete, I had to pad the bed out with the blanket that was provided and some towels that I had as there was a large pole running down the centre of the bed, very bad back after sleeping on that for two nights. I was on a bottom bunk and the guy on the bunk above me moved around a lot and his friend would often jump up there with him, which made the whole bunk bed wobble, I got so concerned at one point thinking it would collapse. Also the staircase up the first floor is questionable.! Very rickety, feels like it’s going to collapse at any given time. Also lots of young people (which was to be expected) when I was there who were so loud and disrespectful with noise in the middle of night (obviously not the hostels fault). To top it off the toilets kept getting blocked and stinking out the room! I would not recommend if you want even a little bit of sleep, but if you don’t want to sleep and just somewhere to dump your stuff and shower then it’s okay!
