Mme and I usually opt for resorts by the sea, but a bit away from the center of “the action” - Pawanthorn was the ideal choice for us. Set on a incline sloping down towards the ocean there is no noise but the sounds of nature, birds and the sea breaking against the boulders. The villas are spacious and inviting , the beds and linens are delightful and gave us restful sleep. Breakfast was incredible, delicious homemade jam, perfect croissants, sourdough bread, fragrant Italian coffee. Long walks on a deserted beach right next to the property. Samui is not a huge Island, the airport is minutes away, and yet I never heard a single airplane. Chaweng with its shopping and restaurants is close by. The staff was sweet, friendly and helpful, after 10 days there, we knew all of them, and they did everything to make our stay a real vacation. Honestly we were considering to extend, and if we didn’t have to get back to work we would have! We will definitely go back as soon as we can manage to get away from our busy.
