The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui

We stayed with family to celebrate my 60th birthday, and from the moment we arrived the hotel staff went above and beyond to turn the entire week into one continuous celebration. No opportunity was missed — at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even in our room — to surprise me with cakes, singing, and beautifully decorated leaves with “Happy Birthday” written on them. It genuinely felt as though every single staff member knew and remembered my birthday throughout the week. Even my sister, who joined us for the celebration, received a thoughtful card thanking her for choosing to stay at the hotel for my birthday. It’s these small, personal gestures that make such a big difference, and they truly made me feel incredibly special. There are far too many staff members to single out, as every interaction was marked by exceptional service. However, I would like to mention Tanzi, the hotel manager, who was always happy to stop for a chat and check that everything was perfect. My spa facial was outstanding — not only was the treatment itself sublime, but sharing the experience with my daughter in the same room made it even more memorable. Running a luxury hotel of this size cannot be easy, especially given the high (and sometimes unreasonable!) expectations of some guests — something we witnessed firsthand. The staff handled every situation with remarkable calm, professionalism, and respect. Our room was exceptional in both size and amenities — we couldn’t have asked for more (aside from the unexpected tree snake that almost fell on me as I stepped outside one day!). Thank you to everyone who made our stay truly unforgettable. It exceeded all expectations, and we will absolutely return and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to others.
