Is it enough? We chose Coco Beach AKA Nantra Coco Beach because we wanted a reasonably priced holiday in quiet place with good food and comfortable surroundings. It is certainly quiet. The taxi driver had a great deal of difficulty locating the place even with GPS. Expect to pay USD20-25 for the taxi from the airport to Coco Beach. Once you arrive, the leaving is not so easy, with no passing taxis or public transport anywhere close by. After 3 days we decided to hire a car (USD50 per day). We should have just done this at the airport on Day One.

The sea-view (stand on one leg in the left-hand corner of the room) suite was large and clean. The air-conditioning good. The sulphur smell from the bathroom, probably from bore water, can be quite over-powering, but I would imagine, is unavoidable. The plug in the bath does not seal and the water is brown making having a bath unappealing. The sink had no plug. If you need to wash any clothes, the shower is your best option. The bed is very hard and only one pillow per person. There was only one uncomfortable chair in the room.There is a bar fridge with 2 small complimentary bottles of water daily. You cannot buy a bottle of water at the resort. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. We asked for a kettle to boil water and were given an airpot. Thank goodness we had some tea & coffee with us. Of course, there are no cups or teaspoons so we had to drink from the two glasses supplied.

The food in the restaurant is pleasant, but several items were unavailable. The drinks menu is extensive, but sadly, also unavailable. There is a range of beers and on most nights one of the range is available. Unfortunately, it is not always cold, but ice is available. Breakfast is included, but is only cornflakes, fruit & toast. Eggs & pancakes cost extra. It is advisable to put on mosquito repellant before nightfall.

There is a seafood restaurant a 5 minute walk down the rural road towards a Fishing Village in one direction and a couple of other mediocre resorts an equal distance away in the other direction. 

The beach is nice, tidal and dark sand so extremely hot underfoot. The pool at the resort is small & clean. It lacks shade & comfortable places to sit or lie down.

The staff can organise an island hopping trip (USD110-120 - up to 6 people on the boat) for the day, which was lovely. It did not include National Park entry (USD6 per person) or lunch, which you can buy from a boat on the beach (USD5 per person).

When we asked for assistance in organising a hire car, the desk staff were unable to assist and we had to do this ourselves online. The wi-fi is very intermittent in the rooms.

If you are well prepared, this could be a reasonable holiday. For young people it is probably too quiet, for older people, possibly a little lacking in comforts, for families, there is little to do, all I can say is perhaps don’t book a long holiday here, after 2-3 days you may find its charm difficult to locate —- even the nicest sunset only lasts for about 30 mins!

Beautiful sunsets, cheap, very quiet location, but……..

We planned on staying in this place for 4 nights, and ended up leaving after just 1, disappointed and rushed to our next destination.

The place has its charm: staff are extremely nice and helpful, swimming pool is lovely and clean, and it's very quiet.

Having said that, there was one thing that we felt we can't compromise about: The room had a very bad smell coming from the toilet, and when we asked the staff to see another room, it had the same problem. On the morning after our first night we sat down to have our first breakfast, which was a included in the room's fee. We were so disappointed by the lousy buffet offered on the generally nice restaurant that we decided this is not how we want to spend 3 more night and checked out, leaving behind the smelly room and the poor breakfast.

It's worth repeating that staff tried their best to make our stay here as nice as possible.

Good potential, sadly not fulfilled

Very relaxing and secluded. We we're worried that it would be too far from everything and would be too expensive to not have any minimarts or anything nearby. Despite higher prices on the food than we saw elsewhere, we were very happy there. We just out everything on our bill and relaxed. The beach isn't great, but it's completely secluded and you can literally have it to yourselves. The rooms were lovely too - as was the service in the hotel.
