Small area with 4-5 bungolows. As it’s bit longer walk from the walking street it’s super nice and quiet. 
The host doesn’t speak english but is super friendly and cute! They also offer taxi service to the walking street.
Breakfast is cooked by the host and is quite good and tasty.
Rooms are nice and clean. Rooms have air con, fridge and even hair dryer.

Super cute place!

A small resort with just 5 bungalows. Very friendly staff and owner. Free transport to walking street. It’s not far from sunset beach. Small but ok breakfast. Lovely dogs that live at the resort. Will come back again.

Quite and friendly

Pros: clean, well maintained, warm water, breakfast and water included plus taxi service. Warm and lovely family. 

Cons: fairly massive language barrier such that basic transactions cannot be completed without the one person who has some English- regrettably, she’s not there often. Further- emails are NOT answered- so basic changes or questions go unanswered. Plus- you would think that the location is quiet given its proximity to pattYa beach, but the acoustics actually AMPLIFY the bass coming from the beach. Doesn’t stop until 2am. Grrr. 

It’s a great value for the price. But you really ally need to anticipate ALL your needs prior so that you don’t have to ask for anything other than breakfast or taxi.

Good room but communication needs work

Yes, this resort isn't on the beach! However, what they offer in kindness and hospitality more than makes up for it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or go back next time we visit.

When we arrived the lady sat us down with a drink and gave us a map where she pointed out all beaches, streets and activities we would need on our stay. Every morning we were served a huge breakfast of our choice which set us up until our evening meal. The huts were upscale with extremely comfortable, large beds and clean bathrooms. The balcony/terrace was huge and overlooked the garden.

It was a 5 minute walk down hill to the beach. It wasn't the nicest of walks as you go past a bog full of rubbish which inevitably attracts a million mosquitos but in terms of the section of beach you come out at - it is the best on the whole island. The beach further down is full of longtail boats.

The most helpful people

We stayed at Plawan for a week, in late April, and we recommend it to everyone. From what we've seen in the island (we visited everything), it has, by far, the best location and cost/benefit ratio.
 Location is great, just 500 meters from the best beach in the island;
 The rooms have (almost) everything you need (a water heater to make tea would be nice...);
 Breakfast is great!!! More than enough to get you through the morning;
 There is free taxi to and from "Walking Street", from 8AM till 9PM.
 But the best feature of Plawan is, without a doubt, the staff.
 They go to great lengths to help and provide you with everything you need. The day we left, we caught heavy rain. Nevertheless (and under no obligation to do so), they wrapped our bags in plastic, to keep our stuff dry, gave us a ride to the taxi boat (under heavy rain), lent us umbrellas and still carried our bags trough the rain and water puddles to get us to the check-in point, safe, dry and on time!

Excelent Hosts

The 5 properties/huts that make up the Resort are detached from each other.  We were in the one furthest from Reception which was nice.  Each room is air conditioned and comfortable.  Water on Koh Lipe has to be shipped in so there isn't a pool here which is completely understandable but it would have been perfect had there been as the huts and family are wonderful.

Breakfast is huge - fried egg, toast, bacon, sausage, pineapple, watermelon etc.  It was hard to ask for less or something different.  

There is a short cut passed the huts to Sunrise Beach via the Andaman Resort...just be aware that it there is a steep hill down and therefore up on the way back but its only a 5 minute walk.

Location is right next to Mountain resort and the family are available to take you to Walking Street or Pattaya Beach between 8am and 9pm and to pick you up if you want.  A tuk tuk taxi is only 50 THB per person however so not an issue.  We didn't walk it but I'd say it would be a slow 15 minute walk to Walking Street.

The family who own Plawan Lipe have limited English but this doesn't prevent them doing everything you can imagine for you.

Wonderful accommodation away from it all

Only five lovely new bungalows, kept in excellent condition. Sunrise/Sunset beach is just a short walk down a track directly from the bungalows. Whilst not on the beach, it offers excellent value for money, with that beautiful beach nearby. The owners are very helpful, courteous and kind. They provide free transport around the island and to Walking Street (but not after 9pm). The breakfast provided is fabulous and will keep you going for hours. All round a great location and one of the best so far in our tour of Thailand. We'll be back.

Lovely bungalows, lovely owners

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Plawan. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable and stress free experience. They offer a free taxi service to Sunset Beach, Walking Street and even dropped us outside of normal taxi hours to our speedboat transfer. Although not directly on Sunrise Beach, it is only about a 5 minute walk (max). The beach is incredible!!! They offer pineapple rubber rings free of charge and snorkel equipment at a small cost. As soon as we arrived we were given a refreshing welcome drink and given a very informative run down of the island. Including restaurants, bars and places of interest. The island is so small you really could walk everywhere if you wanted to. The breakfast is enormous and includes full English and fruit. A great way to start another day in paradise. Fantastic stay! Exceptional service 

Ressort is operated by a small lovely family. If you want to avoid full hotels, its the place for you.
Beaches are not so far and they are providing free transport to any spot on the island and also a pick up.

They are giving recommendations which are quite good. You have laundry service and they are taking care of day travels if you want.

We will come back.
