Villa De Pai

The hut was rustic, but affordable. It was very centrally located and the staff were so kind and helpful. The bed and pillow were very uncomfortable. The noise from the street is quite loud so either join the party or bring ear plugs. The river view is quaint and peaceful and the entire property is setup very cute.

Get what you pay for

Positive points: - Villa de Pai is well located and close to the main alley - scooter parking - terrace - nice staff - nice setting - good value for money Negative points: - cleanliness of the bathroom approximate to our arrival - no possibility of ventilation other than through the bungalow entrance door The comfort is summarised but the hotel is convenient and faithful to the photos!

Convenient hotel

I have stayed twice in this place, loved the garden and being close to the river, but on my last visit a few days ago, I was appalled about the owner rudeness. I only asked to look the bungalow he assigned me before paying ,and he throw a fit, saying why I want to see it???  I do understand that business is slower, due to the smoke in the air ( country side being burnt) and the coronavirus, but hospitality is expected to a regular customer and not rudeness. He doesn't understand about this.

The next day, thinking we could use the hammock and the nice terrace for a little lunch, I came up with a refrigerator in front of a reception where the smoke products were ready, and then he came up with the steak and the steak! He wouldn't be ready to go back to his real home, but he's not going to go back to his friend's campsite, but he's going to have to negotiate with his friend, but he's not going to go to his big coffee shop, but he's going to have to check on his big coffee shop, but he's going to have to have to check on his big coffee shop.

Not funny at all.

We stayed here for 9 nights ( originally booked 4 and extended) Pai will do that to you though! The location was perfect. A couple of minutes walk from walking street. Our hut had a hammock and a seating area which was nice. The bed was comfortable and we had a mosquito net. it had a fan too.  The only thing that we didn't like was the shower.  The hose was positioned in a way that we had to hold it while showering ( could of been worse) so it wasn't the end of the world. The cleaners couldn't go into your room unless you were there which is nice. There was also a lovely area by the river with swings and benches which you could ly on at night and look at the stars. I even seen my first shooting star. Would definitely stay here again.

Location was perfect

A value for money basic wooden bungalow beside the river with fan and mosquito net, close to all the shops and restaurants. Free coffee and toast for breakfast. Good WiFi and a nice hammock on the balcony.

A budget stay.

I made a booking for 2 days. When I arrived at the reception around 11:00, the reception by a young woman was cold as a prison door, not a smile! the manager came and spoke to me like a teenager (I'm 49!) he announces to me unpleasantly that the bungalow access is not available until 13:00. I put him back in his seat telling him that he didn't have to talk to me like that and that if he didn't like my presence, he just had to pay me back, which is for my happiness!

Horrible reception

I have been travelling around the world for more than two years. I have been in severals hostels and guesthouses in many countries, I have never met a manager so stressed with his job, I would say wrong guy at wrong place.

VERY UNPLEASANT MANAGER

We had two nights here and wish we had stayed longer. Initially a bit worried as the Boom Bar was across the road but the bungalows are well back off the road in a garden setting on the river. We stayed in a bungalow with a mezzanine for 3 or 4 people. Fan cooled only but that was fine 560 baht. The more expensive bungalows with ac face the river. We were just behind them. Clean and comfortable. Hammock on the little deck. Some noise before 10pm but quiet after this. Great place to stay for peace and tranquility.
Water supplied daily and free tea and coffee each morning at a table near the office.

Comfortable and clean

The garden is nice, the bungalows are clean, a cheap address in the heart of Pai, and beware, the bars across the street can play loud music and it sounds good when you're in the first bungalows.
