I really hope that you’ll not stay at this place after you red this. Me and my friends were there and everything was fine- it looked  nice and the people seemed to be kind. 
But at one evening we heard the sounds of a fight- someone was obviously violent against another person- so we interrupted the situation, came into the room and it turned out that ONE OF THE WORKERS WERE BEATING UP HIS WOMAN just right in the hostel. We tried to help her as good as we could but we got to know that the situation is normal at this place. 
The worker does it regularly and the hostel team keeps the hand over him as well as the hostel owner- the hostel workers are all men -except of a charwoman. 
The hostel owner pays and gives shelter -in his hostel- to a man who beats up his woman there. So it’s not happening somewhere- the worker lives there part time or something and it happens inside of the hostel!
Because we were interrupting the situation, were loud and disgusted about all that - the next morning (when we also left bc of that) in the Hostel were an athmosphere of aggression against us. 
Some random dudes came on their motorcicles looked at us threatening, talked to the people there and left again. They showed up a couple of times more- looked at us and left again. 
All in all this is the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Just by the way the owner of the chill Lom hostel also owns the „don’t cry bar“, the one place that is open till late evening in Pai. To boycott that place is hard because it’s kind of a monopole but at least you could boycott this place and/or spread the word.

I discourage to stay at this place

Regardless of how this hostel was, don’t go to this hostel. The last night we were there we have witnessed a violant altercation between the owner of the hostel and his wife, we have been told afterwards by locals that this man has been beating his wife for the past 15 years. We left as soon as we learnt this. So, please don’t give your money to this man, don’t encourage this. Thanks!

D’ont go near this hostel

Apart from its ideal location, not much positive...for this price (450 THB) you can expect something else...friendly staff, but not very useful... no WIFI connection, despite 3 attempts with different passwords...room pretty dirty and poorly maintained...infiltration of water from the dirty bathroom...no soap, not even a glass...no sound insulation...

Frankly disappointed

I booked this hostel for only one day cause I needed to transfer to another one, so it was cheap and available.
Me and my friend stayed in the 9 person room- the room wasn't big enough, everyone slept really close to each other. It was impossible to get the door of the room closed, so there was zero security of our things and it was cold at night. No lockers, no soap and no toilet paper, which I consider it the minimum in Pai.
I'll do recommend the nice stuff there, but I probably won't return there. 

Low budget 

I stayed here in the upstairs private room and I woke up in the morning with quite literally hundreds and hundreds of bed bug bites. When I told the man working downstairs he seemed to know this was a problem and reacted in a way that they hadn’t got away with it this time. They did offer me to cancel my next night but not my money back.
Go next door to ever green instead!!!!

THE WORST BED BUGS EVER

Less expensive if you book directly with them.
Dorm very small, quite hot in the room even with fans On. 
No light in the dorm, no safes in the hostel, no toilet paper in the bathroom.

Location few meters from the center. 
Cheap price. 

I do not recommend 

I'll start with the only two positive points: well located, close to the hustle and bustle of the city (2 minutes' walk) and still quiet, the common areas are rather nice and pleasant. Otherwise, rooms are not very comfortable, moderately clean, crawling to get electricity, mattresses are very hard, windows and door are poorly confined, which can let mosquitoes in. Bathroom is very old and moderately clean as well.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I had a very good stay in this hotel! Triple room rather small but clean and rather friendly. Very well located and pleasant common areas (hammocks, pillows).
