Baan Kon Pai - Hostel

Not a typical Thai guesthouse.  I really love this cozy and small guesthouse.  If you prefer modern accommodation, I definitely suggest you bank on Pai. I will stay there again when I am back in Pai. There are 5 or 6 rooms. 3 rooms each floor but one of them on the ground level might be occupied by the owner's family ?! Or the owner might be staying very near the reception area. I had a room on the second floor, the room I booked might be located on the ground (My booking = Superior Double Room without View) ) but the owner might have allocated me a quieter room instead as there were no other guests. To get to the second floor, you have to use stairs (no elevator), and take off your shoes. Don’t expect a view from the window but I enjoyed my cozy stay, there is a window in the room on the second floor.  There are power sockets right next to the bed (both sides), which is very convenient as most of us use smartphones on the bed before sleeping.  Bottled waters are complimentary but a water dispenser is found on the ground level. You can refill water anytime. Reception isn’t 24/7. If you arrive at non-standard time, you should inform them in advance.  The location is excellent, it is kind of behind 7-eleven. Close to the bus station. It is quiet as it isn’t located on Main Street. No food is provided at all but there are plenty of options to explore nearby. There is one cafe just in front of the hotel if you want to have breakfast.  There is a public space where cushions are provided. If you wanna chill out, you can stay there, it is next to the reception. The main gate will be closed during certain times. You should ask what time exactly if necessary .  When I checked out in the early morning, there was no one at the reception and I left the key at the reception but I informed it on the previous day.  PS .  I just checked all the pictures submitted by travelers before 2020. I am not sure if there is an annex. Older guesthouse doesn't look like the one I stayed at. There might have been renovation work !
