Room was clean and cleaned well every day. Air conditioning worked well and large fridge. Couldn't get the flat screen TV working but probably my fault but wasn't too bothered since we spent most of the day outside. Bathroom a tad small but good water pressure and hot water worked well.

It isn't five star by any means but for the price, it is excellent value for money being so close to the beach (around 30 metres). During the day, Taewan beach is really busy with day tourists from Pattaya but in the evenings it is very quiet. Excellent restaurant nearby for outdoor dining on the beach. Fresh seafood and really friendly and efficient service. Definitely worth the money.

Excellent value close to the Taewan Beach

I loved the place, the rooms are super cute, clean and the location is so close to the beach but slightly tucked off the main strip in front of the beach. The staff member that greeted us wasn't the friendliest, but I'm not too fussy about that kind of thing. When we needed help, she did help (just not in a smiley kind of way). Would definitely stay here again if I went back to Koh Larn.

Cute place right on Taewan Beach!

I made a last-minute decision to come to Ko Larn and there was not much left so I booked this place. It was clean and comfortable, but for the price I expected a little more luxury. It was not that much different than what I've gotten by showing up at the island without a booking.

The rooms are small but the bathroom is nicely decorated and there is a large refrigerator in the room. The bed was big and comfortable. The courtyard seating area for each room has two chairs and a table, which was nice and relaxing. 

On the negative side, other than the proprietor, the staff is not really that helpful. We stayed for a few nights, but they never cleaned up the room or even emptied the trash. They just put some soap and water on the front porch. We ran out of toilet paper on our last night and there was no one around to supply more. Normally in other hotels at least the cleaning staff notices the toilet paper is running low and leaves a new roll. 

The breakfast was not that great. You order in the front office and they bring it to your patio, which is nice. You can get a bowl of rice soup, which was not bad. The other option is to get one egg, two hot dogs, a piece of ham, and two pieces of toast. Not special, and not that filling. 

The main disadvantage of this place is not the fault of the staff, though. It is Ta Waen beach itself. There is a ferry boat landing here for part of the day, and speed boats start early in the morning dropping off large groups of tourists. As a result there are Chinese and Indian food options. There are many restaurants and shops open for them and the beaches are crowded. There is a perpetual smell of diesel exhaust during this time. This area of the island is not clean as a result of the crowds.

Although the hotel is not directly on the beach, it is in an alley close to the beach. However, it was too busy to stay there. During the day we ended up taking a motorbike ride to other beaches. Samae beach cost 50 baht to get to one way per person per direction. It is very nice and much quieter ... next time I will choose something closer to Samae because those costs add up. 

The other problem is we always wanted to get back to Tawaen beach before dark because the island roads going over the mountain are treacherous even during the day. This limited our options for night entertainment.

At night, Tawaen beach is deserted. The last ferry leaves at 17.00 from this side of the island and the armies of tourists are no longer there. As a result, most everything is closed, leaving just one or two restaurants open. The food at these places was not spectacular or below average. We went to the same place at different times and even though we ordered the same food and drinks, we got something different and not always better.

I thought because of the higher price, this hotel would be nicer to make up for the inconvenience of the overcrowded location. If the hotel is offering a booking at a lower cost, that might make it worth it. Just remember you'll be adding at least 100 baht per person per day for traveling expenses. If I make a last-minute trip again, I will probably just ask a motorbike driver at the pier where to stay.

Just a Standard Room

Nice little hotel close to ta waen beach. Rooms good maybe on small side. Toilet and shower nice and clean. Continental breakfast and sell beer 50 tbt local and 70 for imported. 
Just about 30 meters to water. A loot of speedboats going in and out all the time. Hole beach closes down at 6 pm and only 1 resturant is open.

The "White House" in Koh Larn is a nice choice comparing to other hotels and hostels you can find in this island.
Even if the rooms and the spot have nothing special, you will get a CLEAN and CONFORTABLE place for your stay !
