Very good
21 reviewsI stayed here a year ago in the bunk room and this year in a double balcony room with my child, and I really liked it both times. It's a funny place, at the back of (and upstairs from) a gift shop that you walk through; rooms are fitted out decently - brand new things and good quality, *very basic* but comfortable, good aircon and bed. The location is unbeatable, on Walking Street (Thalang road), right opposite picturesque Soi Romanee, great restaurants and cute shops. The balcony room looks over and at the picturesque heritage street and down Soi Romanee so the view is the best of this location. The price is also unbeatable for this area (270 baht for the bunk room, 520 baht for the double balcony room). The staff are very pleasant and polite, and there's an all night staffer downstairs who's also very pleasant. There is no in-room coffee provided though, nor breakfast, but there is a fridge / kettle / cups and spoons, so I just bought a cheap pack of coffee ingredients from the shops to make my own (59 baht for a pack of ten all-in-one), and you want to sample the cafes downstairs anyway. In low season it seems completely unoccupied, last year I had the bunk room all to myself and it had an ensuite so I really got value for money. There may have been other guests but being a solid concrete building I wouldn't have heard a peep All in all this was a surprising find but really perfect for what I wanted, if I were to come back to Old Town again I'd definitely stay here.
