Thong Paeka Hotel 

We were 3 generations ranging from 2 year old to 65 year old. We booked online and on arrival upgraded to 2 VIP rooms 328 and immediately below 227. Worthwhile for the extra space and effective air conditioning. They even provided a rocking horse for our grand-daughter and a jug/cooker for boiling water. The pool was clean and chlorinated. We were visiting my daughter—in-laws family who live near Prasat. We had hired a driver and van with child-seat for the week which was useful for the five of us and luggage. I slept well and it was pleasant to be woken by the sound of birds in the morning. The furnishings are quaint and always lock your door when leaving as there is no safe. We felt secure. Housekeeping restock complementary water, drinks and snacks each day in the room. The reception area has free tea and coffee. There is a café/restaurant which will cook from a picture menu (and pay at reception). My husband just kept ordering the American breakfast. I enjoyed the Fish and Chips, Stir Friday basil with minced pork. Over the road there is a service station which sells milk and other supplies. There is also a food vendor there which my family (and our driver Somchai) tried. Near the service station is a small playground and an Amazon Café which has lovely coffee and cake. It was great having a van and driver. Suggested sight-seeing include: The Big Turtle (free entry) Khmer temples some of which you are the only visitor. I’ve included the current entry fee. Phanom Rung Historical Park, 114, Ta Pek, Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Buri Ram 31110, 1 hour drive 60km Well worth the visit and there are some great souvenir stalls with authentic Thai made merchandise and lovely outdoor restaurants. This site is one of the most extensive Khmer architecture in Thailand. Entry is 100 Baht The Prasat Muang Tam Ban Khok Muang Tambon Chorake Mak in Prakhon District Buriram. 8 km from Historic Park – discount entry same day.
