We had luck and some cocktails here. The food and cocktails were good and the view over Long Beach was nice. However, allowing people to smoke in the restaurant partly destroyed our lunch. How hard can it be to tell people to smoke outside?

Nice place but...

I stayed for 4 nights and although not the cheapest place as compared to some others i think you have to be prepared to pay more for location and ambiance. Firstly the staff i found exceptionally friendly and the main girl at reception who i forgot her name (Layla?) was very polite and professional.  I have had better food but in general i found it nice and the view from the restaurant was lovely and relaxing. My room was very nice and you could lie on your bed with the doors open and hear the waves or sit on balcony.  The beach was great especially for walking and running along and playing in the waves. Felt very safe and although lots of dogs about didn't see any problems. I have been to many islands in Thailand but feel for me Ko Phayam may be my most suited island.  I have no doubt i will return.

4 nights as a solo traveller

A friendly family run bungalows, restaurant and bar complex overlooking long beach at the end of the paved roadway. Always a cool breeze making a comfortable place to sit even on the hottest day, and the food is beautifully presented and very tasty.

Having travelled in many places in Thailand, I´ve never had something like this. The owner or the "Managing Director" of this place literally theatened us to call the police and to beat us up. At the end it turned out to  be a misunderstanding while we were entering the premises (and having checked in the same day); since the people on Ko Phayam are usually very friendly this was the most awful experience we had.The facilities are ok, but too highly priced there are better places, that we found after we left after one night

Extremely unfriendly, even hostile

 the luxury rooms are not taken care good, old furniture that you could even accept even if the installment is 2,500baht high about 64 euros at the current exchange, but you can not make yourself a tea in the room because they do not allow you to use the hot water machine and you are forced to drink a disgusting bottled water (water is not from Thailand .Thailand waters are good) because they do not allow you to bring water from outside .. so the customer is forced to hide it or drink a disgusting water ... if you bought a sandwich out and you're not finished, you have to throw it away or hide . I will never ever go there again...forget it

a resort with rules from Nazi barrack

We were recommended this place by a fellow traveller we met a few days before leaving for Phayam.
Long term travellers we always look for a bargain.. and we found it.
350baht a night for the older wooden guys at the rear of the property.
We stayed 6 nights only due to our visa s ending.
So, yeah the guys are old, the attached shower and toilet are ancient but still a bargain. Our own little balcony, two twin beds pushed together and a mossie net supplied as well as a table fan.
Walk from the balcony into the sand and a 30 second walk will get you onto the ocean beach.
Loads of bamboo lounges on the property looking into Long Beach.
Electricity is by generator between 6pm ish and next morning... so Wi-Fi isn't available during the day.
Nice staff... a place you dont get disturbed except for good mornings etc.
Easy to recommend especially the budget guys at the rear.
5 minute walk will get you to numerous eating places and shops selling clothes etc.
