We split our holiday between Phayamas and this place at a fraction of the cost. Overall I recommend it. It is run by a friendly and helpful family. The restaurant food is very tasty - in my opinion more authentic and flavoursome than at Phayamas. The location is very good for Long Beach and several restaurants. The mosquito net was effective. Only one thing: the huts have no sound proofing from the dogs, the cockerel, various wild animals  and the Friday night karaoke. So make sure you bring ear plugs unless you can sleep through anything!

Incredible value and a pleasant stay - but bring earplugs

Lucky resort is one of the better but very basic places to stay on Payam. Set a 5 minute walk from the beach front it is a great location with the bungalows being in the shaded area all day.

Inside the bungalow there is a double bed, a fan, medium sized mirror and a fridge. The bathroom is an outdoors bath room/wet room which was quite nice to be outside whilst showering. The only downfall is two plug sockets. 

There are 8 bungalows for guests, only 3 where occupied during our stay so the area was nice and quiet. We met the owners once who were very welcoming and invited us over for a drink. 

The bungalows are a 10 minute walk from some restaurants and a local shop selling again basic products (water, crisps, some uk branded products, mini shampoo etc )

There is mostly always someone in the bar area if you need any help. 

If you are looking for luxury then this isn’t the place for you however, if you are comfortable living in a a very basic way for your time on payam this is a great place to stay.

Back to basics

1 week stay at Lucky Resort.
I would first like to point out that these bungalows are basic, there is no hiding of that.  They are made of slats wood, raised above the sand set back from the beach,however most of Koh Phayam too is very basic and stripped back- so they are fitting with the island and have everything you need.
The toilet and shower are outside of the bedroom- I quite enjoyed listening to the nature while showering! 
The bed was comfortable enough with a large mosquito net. Being where it is, there are quite a lot of mosquitoes, small lizards etc which may enter the bungalows- this won’t be avoided no matter how fancy your hotel is, it’s an island! 

There is a small fan next to the bed. 

There are only two plug sockets in the room, one which we kept the desk fan plugged in and the other which allows you to use the fridge should you wish.

The owners were great,very welcoming and hospitable. They invited us to join them one evening for food and drinks.

They don’t serve food here- however there is a Lucky Resturant close by which they also run, which serves traditional Thai food.

There is drinking water provided in a huge container - however we opted to stick to cold bottled water that we could keep in the fridge

It’s within an easy walk to long beach, and close proximity to local shops/ restaurants if you don’t have a motorbike. 

As I have pointed out, these are basic but completely fitting with the island. (Especially when looking at the other places!!). I wouldn’t hesitate to  stay here again if back on the Island!

Basic but great!

So far I've been to breakfast here 3 times and 3 times it's been just a lovely experience. Reasonable prices and delicious food, try the breakfast baguettes, you won't be disappointed! Don't be shy to have a chat with the owners and staff too, they are just lovely.

Delicious food and friendly people

A few of us ate here twice in our 4 night stay, we didn’t stay here. 

The food is mostly cooked by the lovely lady on the photo we called her Mama, she is an amazing cook whipping up
6 different dishes in a good time scale to a very high, authentic Thai standard.

Authentic home cooked Thai food & friendly people

Very nice bungalows with a big veranda (a great place to relax in the hammocks provided!) in a quiet location only just about 300 meters away from the beach. At night you can still hear the sounds of the waves. The resort's owners Arm and Fom are lovely people who made our stay very nice. They do care about the well-being of every single guest. Whatever wish you have, the owners try to make sure that the wish can come true. Every guest will be provided with drinking water what we thought was a great service. The food is awesome. Very nice restaurant to spend long evenings with friends... this is definitely an outstanding guesthouse which we can fully recommend.
