This place may have once had glory days, but they are over. Surly owners and poor customer service. The beach is okay. Cockroaches in the very basic rooms. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

Try to avoid

Due to the title of my review, let me start with the positives.  The internet functions very decently all around the place, including the room.  The beach is great.  The staff is friendly. The A/C in the room functions very well which is a must in this climate.  Then;.... for me everything was overpriced, including the rooms, as there is nothing spectacular about it.  I got a bungalow which was pretty much bare, the lighting in the room was poor, the bathroom was basic.  On top of that the breakfast is NOT included in the price of the room!!! So you have to pay another 6 USD every morning to have a cup of coffee, some bread, croissant, and butter and jam!!! If you want another cup of coffee, guess what? You pay for it too!! The breakfast is uninspiring to say the least (there are other more expensive options on the menu if you want to add eggs or something else which I didn’t pay too much attention as it was no value for money). In a tropical country, not offering more options like fresh fruit, etc. is regrettable. I reviewed separately the restaurant, but just to resume the limited options on the menu and the quality is again overpriced.  The hotel is a bit outside of the town, so not easy to walk to other places, you either have to take taxi-moto at your own risk, or a taxi (there is one available on the premises, but you need to negotiate the price) to go in town, to the market or to other restaurants.  Finally, the hotel doesn’t accept credit cards!! Even when you book via TripAdvisor it doesn’t allow you to pay.  Everything is cash, in case you depend on your credit card, beware to either get cash with you or use BSIC bank ATM where it gives you local money with your foreign ATM card.  Overall, I think it was ok to stay here for few days, but if I were to stay longer I would have looked for other options. 

Mediocre

We did not stay here as guests but visited for the day to enjoy the beach. The setting is really lovely, and you can swim which I think is rare in this coast. The beach loungers were comfy and the food was decent. Just be aware there are quite a few charges - 1000cfa to enter, 2000cfa for lounger and a further 2000cfa to use the pool. I am unsure whether these costs apply to guests too.

Relaxing Sunday

Always enjoy our stay here. Mr. Papin is an excellent waiter! Our beef filet in mushroom creme sauce was terrific. The ac works well. It's one of the only places in Lome where it's safe to swim in the ocean. The pool is great also! Come relax and enjoy Togo... 

... Paradise... 

You wouldn't travel Lome to stay at Coco Beach, but once here, it is just a great place to visit, to stay, to eat by the sea and unwind. Don't be put off because it is near the docks or that most taxi drivers think it is further up the coast. That is because Coco Beach is further East. The hotel is nowhere near it! It is next to Robinson Plage.
