Not clean or nice but convenient for my last night with a super early flight. I did get to watch my hdtv. I couldn’t get my toilet to flush. The light for the bathroom was by the front door. And the decorative lighting outside was so bright, I woke up and thought I slept through my alarm.

Near the airport

This place is a serene and private space filled with the songs of birds surrounded by  trees and had a nice quiet calm feel to it. We felt it was out of the way tucked away from the main road which made it nice and quiet but unsafe walking to get there at night. Everything in the room was very antiquated in every way. This is a very very very basic amenities no frills place with old rusty appliances and dirty pool chair coverings etc. The host was friendly but we did not see them or thy were never around and never asked how we are doing, do we need anything basically non existent. So the departure was disconnected as a guest house should never be. .Would not stay there again.  

Serene and private but

The pros: super close to airort and nightlife, plenty of hot water, reception is friendly, and tv and ac work.

Cons: no shampoo, towels look dirty, water pipes sing/whine in the middle of the night, mattress is super flimsy and is set on a wood pallet. Frig was in the middle of the room and not plugged in, and bathroom could use some basic repairs (rust around the sink, build up on shower head, etc).

I wouldnt book here again.

Survivable for one night

This is the worst yet! Don’t waste your time comin!!! Pics posted on their page seems to b old pics bcuz right now it looks nothing like the pics .The place run down! Needs upgrading! Suppose to stay for the weekend but We only stayed 1 night bcuz it was too late to book elsewhere :( #sad

Don’t book here!

We stayed here a while ago it was our first and only stay, the rooms definitely needs to be updated. There isn't much privacy in the rooms its more like a studio apt with everything in one space minus the washroom. Not going to visit here again sorry.

Needs a little updating

I,ve no idea why there are bad reviews of this little place, as I find it very lovely. Yes alot is outdated and it could do with upgrading, however my room is lovely and for me alone I couldn't ask for more. This little gem was a life saver for me as I was staying in bon accord of which it didn't work out.  And considering carnival is due alot of other places were booked up fully, so I went on booking.com I didn't want to go outside of crown point area so it was lucky I stumbled upon the golden thistle. Situated off a nice quiet road of off store bay road, yes it's near the airport but to be honest you never hear anything very little in fact..anyway I checked in and the staff are lovely. Camilla is amazing she feels like one of your family..so helpful and will go out of her way for you. The complex is small which is nice and to be honest doesn't really need upgrading too much as it feels like a little home from home. WiFi is available but only in the restaurant and pool area, not much in rooms unless your near those areas I suppose. Anyway my room..nice little kitchenette, bathroom/shower and king-size bed.. perfect for me.. price is really good also...don't be put off by the bad reviews as I do not know what some of them are expecting, if you want pure luxury then pay out thousands for pure luxury. I'm different I like to experience life, I like the basics, and I like home from home with quality and good company which is what you get from this little gem..I will certainly book to stay here again...oh food is available from 8am_3pm from breakfast to lunch....

Lovely little place...home from home

if that is what Tobago has to offer i can understand why the hotels are not booked.that place is a dump and not even fit for vagrants. the management should be ashamed of offering that place for accommodation . staying there for one night was my worst experience i have encountered in Tobago. PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES. THE TOBAGO HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SHOULD PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THOSE HORROR HOTEL PROVIDING ACCOMMODATION.  GOLDEN THISTLE HOTEL IS A DISGRACE TO TOBAGO.

The rooms are very small. Especially the bathroom. The beds are uncomfortable. They charge the price of a four star hotel, when they're a two star. The food and beverages are ridiculously overpriced. The pool is needs major cleaning. The towels aren't clean. The TV is so outdated. The wifi drops awfully. You literally need to go all Lion King on your devices to get wifi. There is A LOT of hair from previous visitors scattered all over the ground and bed. Major upgrading needed! The food isn't great! The pelau is the only thing that's passable. The cleaners are pleasant.

Service at the front desk was good upon arrival. Once money exchanged hands the service was either non existent or disrespectful. The room was old and worn. There was no microwave and the stove did not work. The beds have seen too many years. On our first morning there we had no water in the faucets and had to use toilet facilities elsewhere. This is unacceptable and outrageous!!! They claimed that something was wrong with the pump and it would be recitfied. It was not rectified in the half an hour we remained. Second morning we tried using the stove. There was no gas for the stove to work so forget about cooking or making  coffee. The man who changed the gas tank only made excuses. He did not see anything wrong with the water shortage at the hotel and the fact that we has no gas for cooking. His line was "these things happen." Well this has never occurred to me before in all my travels. I would not recommend this place. Run in the other direction please. It's not worth the inconvenience.
