Stayed at the hotel for a single night as part of a tour from coastal Tunisia to the Sahara. Checked-in at 7pm and then checked-out at just before 5am - so this review is only based on a few hours!

The pool area was fantastic after a long day in the sand and sun, however, if the hotel was busy during the day then I can see it would be quite crowded.

Food was okay. Our tour group were only allowed to eat from 8.30pm after the hotel's other guests. This was fine in itself, but it didn't seem new food was being churned out at the same pace so there was often many empty serving dishes.

The rooms are very dated, but clean and fine for the one night we stayed. Shower in the room never stayed a constant temperature but cycled from hot to cold to boiling to freezing.

I'm sure a longer stay would bring out more positives, but overall this was ok for a night.

Flying visit

This is a traditional Tunisian hotel and we stayed as part of a 2 day Saharan trip with Tui. The reception immediately gave us interconnecting rooms without asking and the dinner was delicious. Shame we couldn’t stay longer. The camel activity from the hotel was fantastic. 

Lovely Saharan hotel 

We stayed here while we were on a 2 day Sahara trip-for a night it was ok-right at the edge of the desert before we went on our camel rides-for a night beds were comfy enough and air con in the room worked well
Food selection for dinner was fairly ok-a nice selection of salads and some hot dishes-the deep fried aubergine was very nice 
The breakfast selection next morning wasn’t as good-lots of salad and cold meat but not much hot selection-some hard boiled eggs, tomatoes and some sort of fish curry 
The local bread though dipped in honey was nice and had croissants and pain au chocolat
Opened very early if your doing the sun rise option as had to leave at 4 in the morning 
Bar staff very friendly and quick to make up a decent gin and tonic-definitely nice enough for the night though for longer not sure as mini fridge didn’t work in the room which I think is deliberate so you have to purchase cold bottles of water lol

Ok for a pit stop

This hotel was very nice but a bit of a warren. We got lost several times between reception and our room. There is no signage.

The pool is wonderful. Waiters are on hand and keen to bring drinks. The water is crystal clear. The grounds are landscaped with grass and palm trees.

Our room was nice. The aircon worked very well. There was no fridge or bottled water or tea making facilities. Worst though was no wall fitting for the shower head making hair washing difficult. Also the hand basin and bath were very slow to drain. The TV was not connected. I connected it but there were no English language channels. 

Dinner was good. The variety was amazing and the French influence showed.

An oasis in the desert

We were taken to this hotel as part of a tour group for our hotel we visited the Sahara dessert and later on on the evening checked in to this hotel

The experience was awful rooms very outdated the smell of the premises was awful.
Dining room had broken chairs, dirty table cloths, dirty crockery everything just looked very dirty I would not recommend anyone to stay here book somewhere else.
Staff on reception could be better at smiling and greeting

No Wi-Fi in rooms! Only by pool, reception and bar which was cutting out most of the time so not very stable, I’m glad we only spent couple of hours there and not our holiday.

Not a great experience

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour too the Sahara.  It is grubby and run down in all areas.  The fridge was rusty as was the bath round the plug and other metal round the bath.  The bar was so expensive that very few people bought drinks. The food was just about acceptable, probably better than we expected due to the surroundings. We were disappointed as we booked the tour in Sousse and we were told the hotel would be very good.  Would advise not to stay there and certainly on these tours to take your own water and beer if you can.

Avoid

Stayed here for one night. Good hotel, nice rooms, very friedlich people. Dinner and breakfast more and better than expected. Rezeption lady Zeineb and restaurant waiter Kamel very nice and helpful  people same as general manager mr. Rjili Dhau. Thank you for my stay here in Douz, one of my Tour Highlights!

Awesome hotel, great staff, tasty cold beer after an adventure in the Sahara.

If people ask whether it is worth the slog to the desert from Souisee, I would say absolutely. 

We were greater by great staff, a warm reception and an ice cold beer.

This beautiful oasis will make your stay in Tunisia unforgettable. The pool area is magical and relaxing, just what you need after a day in the desert. Great food and drinks, pleasent and warm atmosphere, polite and professional staff.

Oasis in the middle of the desert

Wonderfull place, clean pool, kind staff, wi fi and all you need for your vacancion. Change on the reception, quick service and polite people. The rooms are with TV, AC, warm water, clean.There is a wonderfull palm forest around the hotel.
