This hotel is filthy and run down. The staff are very friendly and want to make you feel welcome, but they have nothing to work with. The pictures are not representative of what is there. The patio door was unlockable, clearly been forced. The bedding dirty. Some sheets had blood on them. Cracked tiles on the floor and in the bathroom and the tap ran brown water. The beach was desolate, dirty and the beach hut a now broken down uncared for shell, to get to it you would have to cross a stretch of land littered with rubbish and occupied by stray dogs. There is more, but this should be enough to stop you going.

Good services for a 3*, a little hotel and the personnel are making a real effort to satisfy their clients, guys don’t forget that you get what you pay for, when you pay a little amount of money in a 3* hotel don’t wait to have a vacation like you get in 5* hotels...

We was upgraded by Mohammed  in the reception to the suite on 3 floor.
Very nice   BUT..it was not cleaned
Aircon not working the persienne in the room not working..the waterpressure in Deutsch nearly not existing. Lock to room not working proper.1 sheet to all guest
Bad smell, also in the hall and staircase of old smoke.and so on.
Escalater not working old people climping 3 stores..in hot condition.
The service at the pool was not polite OR educated...serving old whitewin tasting eddike...
The reception was good.

lots of people are really critical but you get what you pay for yes the hotel needs a bit of tlc but the food is plentiful the staff work really hard and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a brilliant holiday here in august 2018

I stayed at the Byzance in May of this year for 6 nights. I arrived late at night and was shown my room, it was a sea facing room which I thought was ok.  Until daylight hit and I could see the mess. The land behind the hotel was not very picturesque but looked more like a dumping ground. A few locals lived here but didn't seem to keep it tidy.  The only good thing about the view was the stray cats, 13 in total that I counted, to which I ended up spending my days feeding and watering them.  They made my holiday, as there was literally nothing else to do here.  The hotel pool was freezing cold and to uncomfortable to swim in, so sitting on the edge was as far as I managed lol.  Luckily only had a couple of really hot days whilst there.  
The hotel itself wasn't up to much, nothing like the pictures it advertises, nothing to do in the evenings, no entertainment as such, a man and a keyboard playing the same songs every night.  Nothing i wanted to sit and listen to night after night and he played late into the night which was loud and annoying when trying to sleep. My room was on the 1st floor, which luckily got changed on the night I arrived from the 3rd floor, the night time manager was kind enough to give me the choice of rooms, which I was grateful for.  Even back in May the lift wan't working so after reading recent reviews I don't believe it ever has worked. I used the hamman whilst there I had a lovely massage from the lady who was lovely, she was friendly and tried her hardest to speak english, we managed to have a laugh at least.  
The food, what can I say, it was mostly edible, chicken n fish almost every meal, and liver, blurrrrrrr, hate the stuff and it was served most days, but at least the cats liked it haha.  
For some reason this hotels bar/cafe was very popular with the local men, who would sit for hours with their coffee n cake smoking and watching the female guests, very unnerving.  But the lobby bar was clean n tidy at all times. The All-Inclusive bar however was not, it was run down and dirty behind the bar, could do with a good clean up and maybe some new fridges. The Wifi however was only accessible from the lobby, it barely reached the rooms or out by the pool.
Apart from all the above I had a pleasant stay, I was looking for a relaxing holiday and thats what I got, simply because there was nothing to do there. no trips where offered to me, some people went on a boat trip which they said was ok but the sea was freezing cold.  Would have liked to have gone into Hammamet but never got round to it. All in all I wouldn't recommend Nabeul as a holiday destination, or The Byzance hotel. Go to Hammamet or Yasmine Hammamet as I've heard their more geared up for the traveller.  This is not my first visit to Tunisia, I've been to Port El Kantaoui before and loved it there, the Tunisian people are wonderful and friendly I hope the country can recover from the past atrocity that happened that very sad day on the beach.   
Last but not least anyone travelling to The Byzance Hotel please look after the cats out the back, they rely on the holiday makers to feed them, some are brave enough to even come into the hotel grounds and restaurant looking for food, the others however live in the tree out back and never come down. I found if I threw food from my balcony onto the roof of the house they actually got fed.

Hotel Byzance

This hotel is horrible, It matches nothing to the description. The spa for the hamam was closed during the full two weeks of staying there. As soon as we landed we had to wait 1and half hours to get our family room. We weren’t shown around the hotel no one assisted us with taking our luggage up. The lift had gotten stuck whilst inside it. We finally got used to getting around the hotel. The only good thing about the hotel was the cleanliness around, the cleaners were good at doing there jobs. Some of the staff were lovely. However some of the staff were very very rude...I mean I’ve been to better three star hotels. We requested a fridge and paid for it and received it a whole week after renting it out. We then received it and the plug wouldn’t fit due to the size of the fridge. The fridge was absolutely disgusting. The rooms are not child friendly there are many health and safety hazards. The electrics are hanging down from the phone there’s cracks in the floor tiles. The door has no lock on the terrace. I can not stress how much of a rubbish hotel this place is!!! If your going on holiday with children this is not the place to stay. Tunisia is a beautiful place and in fact it’s my 7th time staying in Tunisia but this hotel is absolutely disgusting. There’s no entertainment for the children. It’s just not a hotel you’d want to stay at. The food is terrible everything about it is just horrible.

i spend in this hotel 6 days (20jun-26jun)and i was auful. the suff people dont talk english at all(i was lucky cos my my freinds was know arabic) if no god knows what was gona happen. i had B&B and i had breakfast one morning cos in the restaurant was nothing good to eat apart of bread and butter and bonus there was no water ,if you wanted water you was have to buy if from the bar , that was just piss me off. wen i booked i book it for double room with double bed ,,,in fact there was 2 single beds attach to eachoder . the cleaning ppl was ok but they didint change the sheets of bed everyday .The beach is soo bad and soo dirty I dont recomand to noone who want to have a nice holliday cos is nothing like they describe
