Every room comes with its own two ton pool for soaking in the healing waters, in complete privacy. The food, though not extravagant, shows you the best of Anatolian cooking. The room is really a suite, with a separate living-room and small kitchen, and large bathing area.

The spa is completely separated for men and women (each at separate times). We found the medicinal massages, mud treatment, etc. truly beneficial, they have onsite doctors who assess what each person will benefit from.

I would suggest a longer stay at this place (maybe two weeks, if possible) to get a complete cure from the waters (although we stayed much shorter and also benefitted). However, having access to a car would be very helpful, as there is not much to do within walking distance, but the surrounding area is fascinating to explore with a vehicle.

Good, traditional place to truly relax

We stayed in a 2+1 apartment at this hotel for three nights. Check-in was a smooth process with the help of Ömer bey at the front desk. Our room itself consisted of 2 single beds in one bedroom and 1 double bed in the other bedroom. Our room was clean and spacious with a thermal pool in your very own room which was big enough to fit 2 people. However, in spite of this, the hairdryer wasn’t working, a few of the lightbulbs in the living room were blown and for some reason the price list for the spa treatments that were provided in the room did not match the prices in the spa center. Improvements to these minor hiccups would improve a future guest’s experience.

Moving onto the restaurant, the hotel offers 3 options: breakfast only, brekfast and dinner, and breakfast, lunch and dinner. We chose breakfast and dinner. Dinner was prepared according to a set menu and consisted of appetisers, entree (soup), mains, and finally dessert. The food was delicious. My concern, however, was with breakfast. Although an open buffet, there was a lack of variety and each day consisted of exactly the same food. I suggest management either adopting a similar model to the dinner menu, where each day consisted of a different breakfast special. Or increase offerings with items such as gözleme, poğaça, börek etc as standard and not as extra.

Now to the important part of this review: the spa center itself. The spa center was clean and included all the features you would look for in a thermal hotel. Staff at the front desk, especially Adem bey, was professional, patient and accomodated my needs to an excellent degree. I booked myself for a kese and köpük (dry scrub and foam bath), medikal masaj (full body massage), çamur (mud therapy) and finally a yosun mask (face mask). I was happy with the treatments provided. Prices were normal. The massage therapists Muhammed bey and Amar bey were friendly and professional. However, as other reviewers have mentioned already, joint use of the spa center by both men and women is a critical necessity and I suggest hotel management to look into this by offering a few hours a day for joint use.

Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday consisting of lounging about at the spa center, then I recommend this hotel. Otherwise, there isn’t much else to do at the hotel and is quite far from the city centre (~30 minute drive) if you are looking to do some shopping or look at historical sites. Because of the lack of variety in the breakfast menu and the lack of joint use of the spa center (which should be standard), I rate this hotel 3 stars.

Good. However improvements needed.

We came for summer vacation. We stayed about 6 days. The place over here is very peaceful and beautiful. The rooms or houses are very comfortable and the garden over here is very beautiful. The workers and manager over here are really nice and gentle. My family and I loved this place o yuzden gelecek yaz hepimiz gelicez ailemiz ve biz. İyi ki gordum bu mekan internete.

Amazing

We stayed in the apartment portion. It was a two bedroom and included a living room, kitchen, balcony, and its own hamam and thermal pool. The hamam and thermal pool were wonderful to have since it was a cold, snowy night and the public facilities were across the property.
Pluses: Heated floors throughout the apartment. Very nice and helpful staff. The private hamam and thermal pool. There is even a sort of convenience store on the property. And a great atmosphere of being very family friendly.
Minuses: The mosque is VERY close and woke us up at about 4:30 in addition to the other things going on around the property. Wear and tear inside the apartment gave the feeling of it not being extremely clean (and the dishes provided in the kitchen were definitely not!)
Overall, we were pleased. The whole experience was one we would recommend to just about everyone.

Quite pleasant

First of all, the area of Afyon is so interesting for exploring the phrygian valley and using the thermal waters. Well worth visiting this area of Turkey. Originally we were booked into another thermal hotel near Afyon but found that most thermal hotels in that area, although rated as 5 star, are actually badly designed and not actually very good. We were very pleased to come across Basaranklar Termal Hotel which really stands out from the rest. One of the nicest things about this hotel is the host, Nabi who was excellent with English. He was very attentive to our needs and nothing was a problem for him. The room was simply furnished but very clean and comfortable and the kitchenette had everything we needed. There was a balcony looking over a nice garden and it was very peaceful sitting there. In our apartment we had a bathroom with a large thermal pool. The spa and wellness centre was very clean and well run and the massage treatment was cheap but good quality. This hotel has good morals and is all about wellness. They even have a herbalist there who advises people about health remedies. The only bad thing was the breakfast buffet wasn't very interesting, but at least it was cheap. Also, there is a mosque right next to the hotel so you might get woken up at 4.30am with a call to prayer. Thanks, Amanda from perth, Australia.

So pleased with this hotel!!

We stayed in Basaranlar for two nights but rarely spend the daytimes there. I never knew if they had a breakfast service because I was there with my friends guided by my teacher who was Turkish. We had a a big hottub in the bathroom. And the hot water was from the springs, so it was amazing. It has a separate toilet and and also a turkish bath. The kitchnette was rarely used. The living room is very spacious for a hotel of this price.
