This hotel is not a four star hotel I would rate it as a two star hotel .the service is terrible .No mixers for drinks I would not be coming back to this hotel I can’t believe that the standard is so bad. Management doesn’t want to know what the problems are they push the problems on to others don’t

Hotel basic but clean, food plentiful but can be slightly repetitive. 
Location is quiet and away from the centre of Icemeler.

Negatives

There are not enough sunbeds. 

Water in the room is not replenished and when requested at reception they say they don’t have any. 

General customer service is lacking

When we enquired about a late check out early in the week, we were told to come back on the morning of our check out day, but were then told that our room was already allocated to someone who had already arrived. There are no changing facilities in the hotel apart from the open showers on the beach. 

Housekeeping knocked on our door any morning we weren’t out of the room by 9am.

Lacking basic customer service

On arrival at the hotel we were shown to our room on the 5th floor, on entering we could barely fit our cases and ourselves through the door as the wardrobe prevented entry,
The furniture was water damaged and dated the bed sheets were stained and the ceiling height was an issue. As the hotel lift only goes to the 4th floor it is clear that the 5th floor is an “attic” add on. 
We asked to be moved to another room which we were on the 4th floor this was more acceptable however it took several hours as they said it would need to be cleaned first, whilst waiting in reception we incountered 3 different couples who were also placed on the 5th floor who were also wanting to move rooms! ( a mother and daughter from Bristol who were so friendly, a couple from Accrington & a couple who were on their honeymoon forgot where they were from) we were given the key to our new room which for a 4star hotel it was a little dated (but clean) the balcony had 2 air con units so space is limited (no table & chairs can’t be moved), the all inclusive restaurant was ok if you like a variety of chicken, rice & chips, the salad bar was nice and there are burgers etc at lunch, the “only” bar served basic beer and vodka and soft drinks ( so if you’re looking for a selection of drinks it’s not here), also the coke light kept running out and the beer ran out on our last day ! The hotel pool is small and surrounded by tables and chairs for dining so is not really used, The beach area was ok with free sun beds (although the first one I sat on I went through the gap! (A pile of dead ones were stacked up nearby).
However Ismeler has some great bars and hotels and restaurants and shopping when you explore. the BS beach bar just along the beach has good food and sun-beds etc, a taxi boat is available to Marmaris and Turunc a nice cheap way to see the near by towns.
In conclusion if you stay at the Marbas select hotel don’t  stay in a room that’s on the 5th floor,  don’t rely on the all inclusive restaurant and bar if you want variety, and pick your spot on the beach.
(Could be definite 4star hotel if updated) 

Positives , staff very friendly, great air con , new tv’s , room cleaned daily, right near the beach, oh and love the cheese (klasik inek) 🤪

Marbas Select Hotel a honest review!

Such a mixed review of this hotel. 
Pros: stunning view, beach is a lovely perk (can feel quite cramped when busy), best part of Icmeler (in my opinion) as it’s quite quiet but very close to centre & the poolside staff were mostly lovely. Food was ok. 

Cons: cutting corners. This place has so much potential. Why must they do the bare minimum when it comes to cleaning and, particularly from senior management, customer service? Although not filthy dirty, the place had a grubby feel to it, which would have been so so easily solved with a bit more thorough cleaning. My balcony, for example, had soft seating instead of the standard plastic seating (which is preferable after swimming etc) and it just wasn’t properly cleaned at all. The room was so basic and furniture quite dated. AC worked well and bathroom was quite clean, to be fair, but the accommodation did not feel like a treat or a luxury in the slightest. Although it didn’t bother me much, other guests complained about the limited selection of drinks on offer and I found that the quality of food was quite hit-and-miss. Again with the cutting corners, fresh loaves of bread at breakfast were replaced by pre-packaged options by the end of my stay. The menu was repetitive and not always well-labelled but food was ok overall. Pool area is quite small with limited sun beds but the staff’s attitude towards cleaning meant I had no interest in dipping my toe near the pool water anyway! 

It is true - you get what you pay for. I spent quite a few days away from the hotel and used other hotels and their sun beds along the seafront and bought my lunch and refreshments from there - made for a much more pleasant experience. 

Also, the management were based in an office behind reception and seemed to entertain others but never at the hotel itself but the restaurant next door. They made little effort with hotel guests.

Potential to be so much better

So I’m sat here waiting for the return transfer back to Dalaman airport to head home. Myself and a friend arrived here in the early hours of Tuesday morning (4th June 2024) and initially were disappointed with the room we were allocated, Z8 is on the ground floor, a twin room with no balcony (which is what was booked) however the rest of the hotel is clean, bright, welcoming and the staff cannot do enough to help! To find one issue with the hotel is that it’s a little dated and in need of redecorating. It’s located at the end of Icmeler town with a fantastic private beach, plenty of sun loungers, didn’t matter on the time of day you’ll get a spot! The pool at the hotel is small but after 4 sits fully in the shade which is a welcome relief from the 35+ degrees we have experience during our time here! Walking along the promenade from the hotel is lovely, plenty of places offering a huge selection of food and drink right on the door step! The all inclusive food and drink selection is of a high quality but understandably limited when you consider the hotel is catering for upwards of 500 guests a day! A big shout is needed for all the bar and waiting staff who are just amazing especially Kayra (or Karya) he was brilliant! Funny and engaging with all guests and he will keep the card tricks going all night long if he has the time! Genuinely a credit to the hotel! Considering what we paid for this holiday from on the beach (£1,000) it was ridiculously good value for money! And we will be visiting again in the future. One very small complaint if I really had to find one was that the cleaning staff were very hit and miss when it came to our room and replacing towels, the hotel reception staff are more than happy to replace towels for you when not done by the cleaning team BUT as I guest I feel you shouldn’t have to remind the hotel 4 days in a row that your room hasn’t been cleaned and to ask for new towels and toilet roll. However this small negative is far outweighed by the positives of this hotel! 
A bit should out also to our rep Leon, he was available whenever we needed by WhatsApp message, made sure everything was good for us and helped us book the trips we wanted (jeep safari was amazing! And quadbiking was wicked!) and all for a really good price! 
Ignore all the negative reviews of people who cannot simply see past the end of their nose as this hotel and its staff are a huge credit to tourism in Icmeler

The positives far outweigh the negatives with this hotel

The hotel was medium sized, 90 rooms with a view to die for if you choose a sea view room.  The food was ample with a variety of salads to choose plus a grilled menu every night. The hotel was adult only so most clients are elderly couples.

Most of the staff are kinda friendly but you cannot engaged in conversation with them because they don’t speak fluent English.

The only complaint I can make is that they have no rubbish bin in the room.
We have to put all our trash on the table in front of the television. Thus making the room untidy. Most of the guest leave their rubbish on a table near the lift. So dirty and untidy.

Also, the booking was “all inclusive “ so we expect drinks in the refrigerator. We are given a big bottle of water everyday or upon request. So we were forced to get drinks in the dining room before going up for the day.  We cannot go up and down the lift to get our drinksThey posted a memo on the wall near the lift advising guest not to take any food or drinks from the dining area for hygiene purposes.

I n my opinion, that is the most ridiculous advisory from a hotel.  How about room service? Sometimes we preferred to drink in the veranda prior to dinner watching the view.

Also, regular supply of toiletries is not followed.. we asked everything. We stayed for ten days and we are skeptics that our beddings were changed at all. Cleaners should be trained properly because they are the life of a hotel. Everything should be spic and span. The lift was filthy and a lot of hand mark on the glass doors.
They should be cleaned with glass cleaner every day .

They should also have a security person managing those guest coming home from a night out, every night 
a loud noise of people arguing or banging of doors is happening.

Nice view but

We have just recently returned back from a weeks stay for our wedding anniversary at the Marbas Select Beach and sadly I don't have a lot of positive things to say. Upon arriving at 2.30am in the morning we checked in and were given our room on the 5th floor 503 which entailed a lift to the 4th floor and a set of stairs to the 5th floor. As we entered the room you had to walk into the bathroom to actually get into the room which was a squeeze and then we were greeted with two single beds with one pushed up against the wardrobe  so you couldn't get into the wardrobe without moving the bed out of the way. The room smelt terribly of paint, the headboard was hanging off and you had more room on the balcony than you did in the actual bedroom. By this point I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. We booked a sea view room which we paid extra for but you had to stand on tip toes to see it or on a chair. Immediately went back down to reception as I felt I couldn't stay in the room to be told the hotel was full come back down at 10am and we will change your room. If we had arrived earlier I would of booked another hotel without a doubt.

The next morning we went and had breakfast which was equally as appalling you had a choice of boiled eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato with melted cheese on top and some chopped up style of sausage. Food labels were very rarely used so you just had to hazard a guess. Plain omelettes outside and rubbery pancakes with a selection of fruit and cheeses.  At 10am we went to reception to discuss a room change and was told to come back at 12 noon bearing in mind all our items were still packed in our suitcases. 12 o clock came and were shown 323 which was a lovely room with a double bed and sea view as requested but was unable to move into the room until 2pm which was frustrating.

Lovely pool area which was quiet which had 8 sunbeds but they do have a small beach at the front but I prefer being around a pool. There were no umbrellas for shade around the pool so for my husband who isn't a sun worshipper like me it was a problem. We mentioned this to a guy around the pool who advised us to go to reception as many people complain to him but he was unable to do anything personally. My husband went to reception and was greeted by a bald headed guy who's response was its not his problem about outside so great customer service there. But within 2 days the very lovely guy around the pool arrived with some which was greatly appreciated.

I alcohol I was pleasantly surprised with as a gin drinker these came in miniature bottles each time so at least you knew it wasn't watered down this was the saving grace of the holiday for me as the more you drank it made being there a bit more bearable. Sadly my husband is a whisky drinker and they didn't have any of that at all so he drank gin and sampled the wine white wasn't great but he said the red was better. Day 3 the hotel ran out of Sprite and this was the case for over 24 hours which I find unbelievable. 

Lunch times and evening meal where do I start out of the 21 possible meals we had only 3 of them were any good. Every day was chips which were cold and dry and this was the only potato offering, they seemed to use the same burger meat for everything and just make it into different shapes to try make it look different. I didn't meet anyone there that enjoyed the food it was appalling for an AI hotel and the very worst we have stayed in for food offerings. Has to be bad when the hotel manager and staff don't even eat or drink there numerous times a day you would see the waiters from Liberty's next door to the hotel bringing food and drink for management. When he had company he would always take them to liberty's never to his own restaurant then the penny dropped he owns both. Charges guests for AI then provides the worst food so then guests are left with no alternative than to go next door and pay for better food.

We found some of  staff miserable and they never smiled apart from 2 of the girls outside and the older guy I think his name was Vince he was always chatting with us and worked really hard to keep the pool area tidy. Hakkeh on reception was very unhelpful and a jobs worth whenever we asked for bottled water he always said you have to wait for housekeeping when each of the other receptionists never questioned to give us one. I also asked him to borrow a pen one day to write a card and he told me he only had one pen on reception and it couldn't be moved.

All in all we made the holiday what we could but will never use Love holidays again  stay at Marbas select beach or recommend to anyone. Which is shame as with the view it could be such a nice hotel.

The only positive is the view..

Lovely hotel very quiet and peaceful in a good location.  Food plentiful and very nice.  Pool area quite small but plenty beds on beach.  Staff quite friendly abd helpful and room cleaned daily. Only one criticism we have is that we had a corner room which was extremely small and would be better as a single.

Good relaxing break

Bitterly disappointing!!!  Look around, plenty much better. If you want plenty of shouting and drunks between midnight and 3am then this will be right up your street or if you want reception to ignore you or make you go back and fro after making a simple request. Add in a bit of costant door slamming and a request for clean towels after 3 days with the head cleaner who was as miserable as sin.

RE: Horrific

Went on a girls holiday here.
It was value for money. Cheap cost for what you get. They did a couple of cocktails and the staff were really nice. Food was great quality and the hotel was so close to the town. You were away from the hustle and bustle but just a 5 min walk from all the shops and bars. Loved it!
