We have stayed in Istanbul before but never in this area and came across this hotel by accident - what a find!  The hotel is small but beautiful with a fantastic restaurant (special mention to Hakan at breakfast service), food & service absolutely faultless.  The hotel is in a great location, top tip is to ask the staff about the tram that brings you back up the hill (to save your legs as it is about ten mins walk to the Port).  The reception staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble for them - they go above and beyond in order to assist you.  We had lovely treats left in our room each day.  Our only one small criticism is the storage space in the room - the wardrobe is tiny and there aren't any drawers - but thats only minor, we would stay here again, thank you!

Great Hotel and Wonderful Staff

It is a bit unusual to write a 5 star review for a hotel we didn't stay in and never saw a room.  During the Turkish national holiday my wife and I, both in our 80s, were exploring Istiklal Street and the Galata tower area when she tripped and fell on one of the numerous curb barriers.  Bruised and bleeding we searched for a taxi and, on the recommendation of the Raffles staff, figured our best chance in packed streets was to find a hotel.  As we proceeded down yet another small street we chanced upon a security station with an attendant who turned out was part of Ecole St Pierre Hotel staff.  He took us to the hotel where the entire front management team provided first aid to my wife and undertook to find us an ever elusive taxi.  While waiting for the taxi I had a chance to talk with the manager about the hotel as well as note how clean it was.  When we left I promised the staff that I would try to spread the word about this 17 room, historical boutique hotel in one of the prime locations in the city.  In many years of travel I have learned that how the hotel staff treat guests, even drop in's requiring assistance, is the best reflection on the entire hotel.  I thank the entire staff for assisting us in a time of need and their concern, kindness and generosity is why I strongly recommend this hotel to others and gave it an exceptional rating.

Great location and lovely rooms . Staff really friendly . Turkish breakfast was fabulous and made even more so by great service from Hakan .He made us smile every morning and such good and efficient service . Staff like this make a real difference to a stay thank you

Really recommend ! Location , rooms and staff all fab

The hotel offers excellent experience! Staff is very friendly! Hakan at the breakfast service was very friendly and nice. The hotel is well located near Galata tower. It is clean, tidy and  very comfortable. They maintain Le Labo products which complements the enjoyable stay. Overall, excellent experience!

Enjoyable stay

This hotel is a great combination of five star service and intimacy coupled with a great location removed from the craziness of the old city of Istanbul. The entire staff is extremely attentive and wants you to have the best experience possible. We travelled with another couple and my friend and I looked a little hot and tired when we got back to the hotel. The front desk noticed and two minutes after we got to our rooms, there was a knock on our respective doors and they had sent up fresh lemonade with mint. 
I thanked the manager the next morning and the same thing happened the next day. Breakfast is great service is equally attentive. Highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic hotel with excellent service and comfortable beds

Pro: nice rooms, very professional reception on our first day, good Italian restaurant, Hakan did everything to accommodate us at breakfast
Contra: very crowded area, taxis have difficulties finding the street or are not able to pass Galata towers, access very inconvenient, no breakfast buffet and a offer at breakfast a bit limited

Nice hotel but….

We had a wonderful stay in a delightful hotel.We will certainly return to this hotel on our next visit to Istanbul.
We were treated very well by Hakan who was an excellent host every morning for breakfast.
The Il Cortile restaurant was excellent .

Exceptional Hospitality at this wonderful hotel.

I have just had a mini break in Istanbul at this hotel with my grandson. The reception staff particularly Unice were so welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for Unice and all the staff at this wonderful hotel located so near the Galata tower, tram and boats. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Highly recommend with wonderful staff

Had a wonderful stay, hotel has a nice location with good restaurants walking distance. Hotel restaurants are also great.
Service is very professional, kind and courteous across the reception and restaurant. Setting is charming, room is great, not too small, very comfortable and well equipped. Thank you

Truly a hidden gem near Galata Tower we felt like our Suite w/ Terrace was an escape from lively Istanbul.....location  was ideal in the historical part of town with their own excellent restaurants both inside and another outside w/ live music under the sky in the evening. Our trip was for pleasure and we would give the hotel 6 stars if possible as their staff: Yunis as Concierge at the front Desk + Batuhan & Elgin went out of their way to please and assist. We felt protected, guided, pampered and relaxed at the Ecole - they even helped get us into a sold-out Jazz nightclub Sat. night (Nardis) nearby which is Istanbul's oldest and best! The Turkish breakfasts are served open-air under the perfectionist's eye of Hakan, manager and overall detail throughout this boutique hotel and attention to each guest is what made the stay delightful and beyond expectations!
