Best place for vacation! Great location!!! Feels like in fairytale, you can enjoy an atmosphere of Istanbul. I stayed in Akin House and it was amazing! The best view from the windows and balcony, authentic design of the rooms with many nice details brings you a special  Istanbul mood.  Owner Tahir is a great man!  Always helpful!!!

Amazing place!!!!

We stayed for a week and thought the guesthouse was wonderful. Really great location near dozens of cafes and near a bus line to other neighborhoods. The owner was very helpful with our needs and even drove us when we were leaving. Our room had a view of the golden horn and was well equipped.

And again about Istanbul 😏
Before the trip we were preparing in advance and for a long time could not determine where to stay in this turbulent city. So suddenly we encountered the Booking at Akin House. Our apartment is located in a picturesque quarter with small streets with a huge number of cafes and restaurants, which hospitably treat tea and invite to eat. The tables are on the sidewalks and sometimes the legs of the chair stand at the very edge of the curb, but it does not interfere with anyone). Our apartment is something fantastic! Come into the entrance and feel the sweet smell of Turkish spices, it seems that everything inside is fluttered with this scent! Rooms in the ancient style, armchairs, velvet trim, trunks in which there is an extra bed and a tree, everything from a tree and everything smells sweetly) And yet (I have long believed that nothing happens by chance)) in Istanbul we met the owner of the dwellings, friendly , hospitable Tahir Karabas! And it turned out he was the founder of Liverpool fan club in Istanbul! And our Maxim is also a fan of it) What do you think Tahir did when he got to know that?)) Reply in the photo!

Great vacation

We stayed at Akin House for four nights. The area is full of restaurants, but we ate at Balatkapi. Wonderful place, best breakfast in my life and the owner was a 10+ guy. Breakfast for two with coffee was around 12 euros. We also ate there very good desert and home made lemonade. I can not reccomend it enough! 
The owner of Akin House helped us a lot, took us there from the airport and to a bus station on our way home. He took our friends to a Dervish show and to his pub, taught us how to cheaply take a cruise on Bosphorus. The rooms were nice and clean, towels, and the best view over the Bosphorus-we could see it from our bed. The area is 4 km far from the center but the taxi is very cheap-20 liras one way. 
We will go back again for sure!

Beautiful area, wonderful host!

This is a good location for budget travellers, 10 mins away from Eminonu, from eminonu you can further travel to sultanehmet (T1 tram goes there), blue mosque, Aya Sofia, tabakas( there you can take F2 to taksim. 
There is no AC in the room, but to me the fan was enough and upon request, Mr. Tahir brought one. Room is clean, 
wasroom is also clean, 
it had shower gel as well, 
you will get a new towel,

Off the topic I am also uploading a photo schedule of fairies off to prince's island, so it may help someone.

You will get what you pay for, but you have a super nice host

Old house and huge experience. Owner mr Tahir is superman. Rooms are big, own privacy. All Fener and Balat history nearby. Easy to get in town by bus. Quiet area. Metro is coming soon. Recommend. Different kind of living in Istanbul.
