Great place in a quiet location 5 star.Nice walk from sultan ammed up to galata .Staff always helpfull,at least 7 or 8 nationalities off all ages I'm 65 and no one batted an eyelid. This is for seasoned travellers one and all.Don't be put of by the reasonable price go for it!

Safe,well used by by many travelers old and new ,the least expensive in istanbul Not luxary but all you need.

Please do not stay here, be warned! When we arrived, our room was the "basement room" which was very dirty and damp.  The trouble started upon arrival, when the owner asked us how much our room cost, as though he didn't know. The bedding came out from under the staircase in an uncovered cardboard box.  The bedding and mattresses were very dirty and had toenails, hair and stains all over them.  The electricity was out in my bed cubby, and my friend's cubby had exposed wires everywhere, and later lost power in his bed area as well.  The worst part of all of this was that my friend and I came out of the experience with bacterial conjunctivitis! Please, do not stay here!

Really bad experience overall - got bacterial conjunctivitis!

After reading some reviews about the place, I decided to arrive around 12noon with no reservation to check how the room was like. 
First of all, it was hard to find it and even most local elderly ppl didn't know about it. I was lucky to have met a young local boy who showed me the place. 
It's near the metro station and Galata tower (a simple but central area). I wouldn't recommend female travelers to walk around alone at night - it's dark and empty. Locals also advised me to be careful. 
The man who was at the reception couldn't speak English so I counted on the help of other guests to be my interpreters in Arab.
I've been told by him Booking.com discount was the cheapest way to get a room so I used his wifi to book it thru the app and payed 18 TKS instead of 21.(regular price)
The only available room was at the basement, where the couple who runs the business also lives.
It wasn't as clean as other Turkish places I'm used to and a little bit cold (concrete floor &walls).
The capsule was also made of concrete with individual lights inside+bedroom curtain so I could have some privacy, besides the other 3 guys next to my bedroom.
I had to ask the couple to really clean my bedroom as there was some dust on the top of the mattress. They just used their hands to clean it. Bathroom was ok so was the common area.
Male travelers might like it but I'd tell backpackers to be prepared for a very simple and not very clean place.

Cheap: you get what you pay for.

I stayed only one night there with my friend. The hotel is very close to Galata tower (touristic place), very cheap, and very friendly! When people speak late in the kitchen you can hear everything, so this place is better to meet friendly travelers than to have rest! The staff is very nice, not fluent in english but good enought to understand each other!
Also there is a kitchen we can use, and small place with tables to have coffee. It makes good vibes! =)

Very nice and friendly place

This hostel is incredibly tiny. The reception speaks almost no english. The bathrooms are really dirty, I didn't dare to have a shower. the kitchen is also really small and it's not a good place too meet people, it has uncomfortable chairs. Towels not included. Bed sheets with stains. 
Don't go there!
