Beautiful experience all in all.. no exception. Thanks to all OKRA hotel staff. Namely Yusra ( Gusra) the guest relations young lady who was amazing in her hospitality and nice approach. Clean rooms nice location in the heart of everything. I am sure you will enjoy the stay. Go ORKA go…

Fantastic

We were 5 families and had 10 rooms between us on floors 1/3/4.

I stayed at this hotel during Covid and things have changed a bit since then.

The best thing about this hotel is its location- close to Sirkeci- Eminou ferry port and Gulhane. It is also spacious and has large lobby unlike other hotels in area. The hotel has lifts and a sauna/pool in basement and a small circular rooftop pool.

However, when booking, please check what rooms you are booking- adjoining rooms could mean 2 rooms opposite each other and no connecting door. Economy rooms have no window and are completely dark- you can’t tell if day or night- room 105 and 106- I did book adjoining rooms with view and this room had no view- I raised this and was told nothing is available. Anyhow we made do.

Breakfast was cereal, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, tea and coffee, with sliced small round baguette bread with jams.

Some of our rooms have bed bugs too- pics attached- but I didn’t have them in my room.

Showers were hot and fast.

Guzra as customer relations is good but this is only effective if you take customer complaints seriously

Okay not 4 star

The worse hotel I’ve ever been  the room stink stuff arrogant rude just one bell boy. Was very helpful I thought I will have  nice time  don’t trust the pictures breakfast  every day the same 1-2 thing they will add  horrible stay my neck still hurts from the pillows. Not recommending!!!

Rude

Without doubt, the most incredible Hotel in Istanbul. My wife Lyndsay and i have been 10 times and staff magnificent, BULENT has to get a mention, nothing is too much trouble for anyone there..great atmosphere, and beautiful roof top pool. Access to shopping, sea trips. All in all  THE ROYAL ORKA IS A MUST FOR ANYONE

There is a Hotel like no other and it is called the ROYAL ORKA -Istanbul is the perfect city, there is so much fun.

Fantastik i totally recommend the staff was spectacular especially guzra from front dest she helped us a lot the rooftops scenery was amazing I recommend going there I went with my family Annnd the location I would recommend this place even just for the location

Best vacation ever

Location is great , close to all major attractions Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia , Grand Bazaar, Resturants , Shops , Tram Line / Stops & Ports .
Hotel itself is clean and tidy , breakfast was ok but not great and could be improved a lot . Facilities are very good rooftop swimming pool with great views across the Bosporus River , health club downstairs was excellent too , sauna , spa , Turkish bath .
The rooms are very small , low ceilings and very poorly lit , lighting was terrible in both the room & bathrooms , we had booked inter connecting rooms and we had a bit more of a sense of space as the connecting doors were never closed .
Air conditioning was a bit erratic too but did work most of the time . Rooms were cleaned , fresh towels and beds made everyday.
The building work outside the hotel was unfortunate but the hotel is surprisingly quiet for how busy the area was .
Overall a really enjoyable holiday and with a few small improvements this hotel couldn’t be faulted .

City Break Istanbul

Horrible holiday experience. The staff has an arrogant attitude, and everything else was a nightmare. There was construction work right in front of the hotel, causing a lot of noise. The advertisement was misleading. Stay away. The WiFi was very slow, there was no air conditioning, the room was very small, and it did not meet the promises made. They even provided a single bed for the kids. Don’t even think to get Manager he is worse.

Arrogant Staff

Rooms very tiny.  
Nowhere to store  suitcases.. Breakfast  ordinary. Only a 3 hour window.
Slow at getting fresh towels to room
No pool towels.
Shut the outside pool at 6pm.. sun didn't set until 9pm
Air conditioner not working 
Asked for a view out window. Didn't get it

Orka royal hotel istanbul

Hotel is clean, well maintained and good air con. Staff were friendly, bathrooms were quite posh and clean too. I recommend if you do full board or half the menu is a set menu for dinner u dont get to choose food but u can choose n pay separately for for food.
Breakfast was good that was buffet. Overall good place. Very very busy city and crowded. Staff very helpful and cooperated.

Istanbul august trip 2024

I had booket Orka Royal Hotel & Spa for a week via Booking.com for 4 persons (2 adults and 2 kids). I had provided all details reagarding creditcard and also confirmed with the hotel, that I had a late arrival in the evening due to my flight. Orka hotel confirmed my late arrival by e-mail.
However while I was on the flight and had no internet, the hotel sent me an e-mail that they were missing the 3 digits of my credit card and if I didn't supply the information within 2 hours, my booking will be cancelled - 2 hours!!!!! 
So while I was in the flight for 3,5 hours and my plane was delayed, Orka hotel cancelled my booking!
So upon arrival to the airport in Istanbul and checking my mails I didn't have a booking anymore!!! 
I called the hotel and they were very rude and told me there was nothing to do, they had no more rooms available. Also they blamed Booking.com.
So I called Booking.com and the told me that the Hotel cancelled the booking!
So I called the hotel again as while searching for hotels online, Orka hotel still had the same rooms available on multiple websites, however just for a price 3 times higher than the price I booked with. I told this to the staff, but he still kept telling me, they didn't have any rooms left and that the hotel was full.
I asked to talk to the manager, however the worker laughed at me and told me that there was no manger available at that time.
So I took a taxi and we drove to the hotel and I talked to this employee in person. I showed him the website where the rooms were still available. But he wouldn't see and said that must be a mistake. Also I told him that I had an e-mail from the hotel confirming my late arrival and told him that you could have seen my credit card upon arrival, but he said he couldn't help.
So we had to sit in the reception and book another hotel in the middle of the night with 2 kids.
Really bad service and how can you cancel a booking with so short notice even though you have confirmed late arrival with the customer, shame on you Orka Hotel!

Don't book this hotel - they will cancel your booking to get other customers who pays a higher price
