we stayed in arch-ist for ten night and really enjoyed our vacation. Its staff were polite and friendly. room was clean and well furnished. kitchen was clean and lovely. Arch-ist location is also good it is near to metro and istiklal road and you can find all your needs around.

a cozy hostel

Was a great location and the rooms were clean and fresh,  friendly staff. I really liked the contemporary design of the rooms.  super comfy beds too! 
-Air con system was  a bit old and could use an update.

Perfect Location

Used booking.com for all of my 4 stays at this property. The previous 3 stays were all in two bedroom apartments, which are equipped with own heating and aircon units. Cleanliness and comfort were adequate considering the price. Young staff man the reception 24 hours and they are as helpful as their hotel experience is. The latter stay, 4th one, was  on 1-3 May, Deluxe one bed apt allocated, nicely and neatly decorated - you can tell they have tried to add quality. Hot water issue is the only flaw with these "deluxe" apartments. I would stay again only if two bedroom apartments were available.

Despite the negatives, still worth it!

Good value for money on the whole and of course the nearness to Taksim Square is a big advantage of this hostel. I liked also that it was very warm inside during the cold days in Istanbul. The kitchen is well equipped (a microwave oven, fridge, elecric kettle, dish washing machine, drinking water, dishes, glasses etc.). In the lobby you can find books about Istanbul to read. However the hostel needs some renovation (which is not finished in some passages between the floors and you can see buliding materials stacked uncovered). Also the staff don't look after kitchen and the lobby properly: dirty cups are left for 2-3 days on the tables. They also can leave the main entrance door open for the whole night.

Excellent location, but many flaws

I enjoyed my stay at Arch-Ist hostel and in Istanbul - what a great city! The hostel is clean and modern, and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious compared to many other hostels. If you arrive on an early flight, check what time the reception opens in the morning as it was not open 24 hours a day when I was there. It is a bit of a walk over cobbled streets from the Havatas bus drop off (1km if you don't get lost) and there are at least 2 flights of stairs to get up to the rooms.
