A nice place to stay few minutes of walking from Taxim Square Self catering studios at a very reasonable price The manager is amazing Always available to satisfy all your desires and answer your questions I felt like been at home This accomodation wanna be my place to stay during my future trips to my lovely Istanbul

Value for money

this hotel is conveniently placed near tourist attractions, shops and restaurants. the manager was very helpful to us as well. they helped us with directions and local stuffs that we're not familiar with. the room is comfortable as well! the only thing i'd complain is slow wifi connection. but overall, we had a great experience.

a pleasant stay

Its a nice budget place in a very nice location in Istanbul in walking distance from Blue Mosque and AyaSofya. The place is compact but that is expected in the heart of Istanbul. The big disappointment was the breakfast. Firstly the choice of breakfast is very limited. 2ndly their preferred place to serve is the garden but if it rains or snows they have to move in which really is small grotto with 2 tables. But the location at that price is really something.

Family Trip

The hotel's location itself is fantastic! It's a short walking distance from most of Istanbul's tourist spots! The hotel is clean with a homey vibe which I and my friends liked, we even booked with them our remaining nights in Istanbul excluded from our tour package. The room large enough for the 4 of us. The staffs are courteous, friendly and helpful. The breakfast lacks variety though, but all in all our stay was great. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

A Home Away from Home

We stayed at this property in the summer of 2014, and then again in 2015. As a family of four, we tried both their garden level room (I think it was Room 2), and the very top floor room. They both looked out to the tiny but beautiful garden. The top room was bigger, with a living room area that had a couch that turned into a bed. The bedroom was spacious enough to sleep and move in. We took our toddler in our bed, but you could request a crib/additional bed. I doubt they will charge for that, at that room's rate, but I do not know for sure.

Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Both times we had Ismail, a quiet young fellow attend several of our needs, but he was off to college this year. The manager (this last time) was kind; he even fed the cat with our toddler. 

The stairs are narrow, so if your suitcases are big/heavy and if you have difficulty when moving, avoid the floors above the 2nd one.

Breakfast is OK. The breakfast room indoors is very tight and right by the reception desk. However, the whole point of this hotel, for us, is the lovely garden and the ability to eat in the garden, anyway, so that is not a "con." 

Basics are in the room, of course, but do not assume to find slippers, brushes, conditioners and such when you get there. I had to ask for some of these. The slippers were quickly delivered, but not the conditioner. There was supposedly free wi-fi, bu it was super slow. for all intents and purposes, there was no working wi-fi.

This neighborhood is pretty touristy and "authentic" at the same time. My mother in law loved the food in the nearby local restaurants. Higher priced menus do not necessarily indicate delicious foods here though. Some really modest places such as the one to the right of this hotel) are good. At the head of this street (when you are heading to Sultanahmet) is a shop that sells Turkish delight and classic (syrupy, super sweet) Turkish desserts. It is good. There are silver shops and such nearby as well. 

One thing: it is really easy to miss the hotel because there is no sign that clearly indicates this as Istanbul Garden Suites. I do not know why! It has a white door (I think) and the sign next to the door reads something like Riva Tourism (I think). It is a 100 yard distance from Saray Restaurant, and almost right across from a tiny neighborhood grocery store and a shop that sells souvenirs, suitcases, etc.

We will probably stay there again since we are creatures of habit, and since the old city is within walking distance or reasonable taxi ride away. One could find a better deal somewhere else, but we know this place, and we do not have any major complaints about it.
