Today, my wife and daughter had a very bad experience in this hotel, very small rooms and bad reception, they wanted to change the hotel after 10 minutes, we called the travel agent who told me that this hotel management refused to refund and told us that they need a strong reason to refund, the agent told the hotel that we have someone in a hospital, they asked for a medical report from this hospital.. I had to pay for the other hotel and they finally accepted a partial refund.
I will never recommend this place or the travel agent (Intratour, Egypt)

terrible experience

Small little gem in Istanbul. Rooms are little small and the hotel is situated little far from the main tourist area but can reach their easily using metro within about 30 minutes. Considering what you have to pay for hotels very closer to the main tourist attractions this is a real bargain and excellent value for money. We did have our doubts because of the other bad reviews but the hotel was definitely was not as bad as they have said. 

As always tour to the city was great and Istanbul is a fantastic place to visit. Also food in Turkey is unique and amazing. Food alone can be a reason to visit here.

Good value for money

i just returned today after spending 7 nights there , well i was expecting load music in my room but in fact i was in the 5th floor and did not heard any noice from the street only after midnight you hear pump base in the room coming from a disco but again it is not that high , you can sleep well , the room is perfect size and you have a 29 inch TV and your own satellite with over 550 channels ( fantastic ) also slippers , bathrobe , shaving kitt , tooth kitt , safe box , well who needs more these things dont exist in any 4 stars hotels i stayed in , so as far this the best hotel i stayed in , the location comparing to prices and facility is unbeatable , good deal , the breakfast is so good , juice and coffee and tea perfect . staff are so friendly and they speak good english , so what is missing??? NOTHING i high recommand it

exceed my expactation

I do not consider it is home sweet home, but for a cheap tourist hotel, in one of the busiest parts of Istanbul, it would do. If you have a street facing room, be prepared for a very noisey night, especially as my French window kept on opening because the gearing had failed. The street is alive all night long and clubs stay open well into the early hours, and the thump thump thump of the music penetrated two pillows over my ears. Many great restaurants to choose from, including a must try Taxim beef burger available in Taxim Square. Try the profiteroles just down the road in Inci Pastanesi. 

The staff are very helpful and willing to talk, but the building interior and furniture needed renewing years ago. The hotel is very narrow, and be prepared to climb narrow spiral stairs, which are common in older Turkish buildings.

I would rate this a two star hotel.

Home Suite Home

We agreed per mail on a price including airport transfer. At the airport nobody came to pick us up, so we had to take a taxi. Once at the hotel they said they did not had any information, but strangly our reservation and the agreement to pay the price in cash they were not forgotten! (all agreements were in one mail!)
Again when we were leaving they wanted extra payment for the transfer although agreed upon earlier. They claimed they had nothing on paper, so I had to dig out my mail (again couple of hours lost during a holiday).
I care less about service, room size, price... but what I really can't stand is deceitful people who just treat tourists as cashcows, trying to rip them off as much as possible.

There are enough hotels around Taksim and Istiklal for the same price, and even in better condition, who are honest and trustful. Afterwards I heared that all hotels offer transfer from/to Ataturk for free, certainly if you stay 13 nights! Why trying to milk every penny out of the tourists when you already got a good deal? 

I would recommend to avoid this hotel as they can not be trusted, and trust is the most important thing as you travel to an unknown place.
