We came as a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 teenage boys (13 and 15). On arrival we were greeted at reception with a warm welcome, a bell boy took out cases to the room. We had a family room which consists of a decent size entrance hall, a bathroom, a twin bedroom and the main bedroom with balcony. The room had everything we needed, the beds were extremely comfortable, we had a king size bed with really comfy pillows. The air con was a god send considering the temperature reached 35 most days. The mini bar is restocked every day with juices, milkshakes, water, Coke and Fanta. The WiFi and safe were free too! The hotel provide clean beach towels every day, which you can change at the towel hut at the end of the day. They also provide a free beach bag. The staff are amazing, they all work so hard and they are always so friendly and happy to help, I don’t know how anyone could complain about the staff, they literally are so nice. If you love cats you will love it here, the hotel has lots of tiny cats roaming around, as a massive animal lover I loved this. Having my morning coffee on the sunbed and seeing the cats playing and getting fussed was lovely. The beach is a 5 minute walk from the back of the pool area, the sea is the warmest I’ve ever been in, it was so lovely. The sunbeds on the beach are free and there is a bar and restaurant on the beach which is all part of the hotel and also part of the all inclusive. We hardly saw our boys, they made friends with other teenagers and they spent thier days in the pool, on the water slides, in the arcade or playing football. If you love omelettes you’ll love the breakfast, they cook fresh omelettes at your request, there is cereal, fruit, scrambled egg, beans, sausages (small spicy sausages not to my liking) cheese, meats, biscuits, everything you can think of. We loved the lunchtime poolside restaurant, the freshly cooked pasta dishes and panini are the best. Again, plenty of choice and we actually preferred the lunchtime food to the evening time food. There are plenty of sunbeds for everyone, there’s no mad rush in the mornings, although people do go down around 6.30-7 to reserve beds. I am an early riser, so I would go to the pool around 7, grab a coffee and read my book while the sun came up, it was bliss, so quiet and relaxing. If you leave the hotel and turn right and take a 7 minute walk you’ll hit the shops, you can’t miss them there are so many bright lights, this is where you’ll find all your fake designer stuff. We took the take that’s outside the hotel into side town one evening, it cost 20€. Side town is beautiful, you can walk around the ruins of the amphitheatre, the shops and restaurants are lovely. If you book a meal at one of the restaurants they will send a taxi to pick you up free of charge. We only found this put once we had arrived in side and paid a taxi. We brought Turkish lira with us, but the euro is very popular here, some places will even take pound sterling, cash is cash as one shop owner told us! We came for 10 days, today is our last day and we have all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a hairdressers/barbers, convenience store, and some other shops inside it. I would 100% recommend Side Star Reaort to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing family holiday. Thank you to all the staff who have made our holiday so pleasurable.

You cannot fault this hotel

We came to this hotel as a family of 4, 2 adults and two boys aged 10 and 13 in August 2023 for a 10 night stay. We loved it so much we immediately booked it for August 2024. Hotel is immaculate. The staff cannot do enough for you, they work so hard. The food and drinks are amazing.

Outstanding hotel and staff

The best hotel I have visited the staff are lovely and are really talkative the buffet food can get repetitive but the restaurants are amazing and the food is lovely the best staff here are Mehmet,Ohmer,and Nihat Is entertaing love this hotel

Amazing hotel and staff great were made to feel really welcome by Kadir on reception bar. 
Had a fantastic holiday would highly recommend this hotel good food clean everything you need. 
Great also for shopping with bazaar just walking distance.

Family holiday

We have just got back from 11 nights at Side Star Resort and this is a very honest review of what we found from the hotel.

Pre-arrival - We had to contact guest relations a few times before arriving and they were very responsive, informative and put our mind at rests following some really negative reviews. We also asked for a double bed and whilst it was 2 x twins pushed together, you wouldnt have really noticed which was better than a lot of hotels.

Arrival - we got there just after 10pm where our bags were quickly taken from the bell boy who took them to our room, we were checked in quickly and efficiently and given loads of info about the hotel.

Pool - This was great first thing but by lunchtime it was full of floats/balls and you struggled to move, let alone swim.  They definitely need a bigger pool, especially when the slides are closed.   The size of the pool for the number of guests is not enough in my opinion.

Cleaning / Maids - The place is spotless, everywhere you looked there was someone cleaning,  our maid was lovely, albiet we were slightly disapointed as others were getting pretty things made from towels on their bed, we didnt get anything like this apart from a heart on the last day,  and we tipped the maid every day!  She was lovely mind you and its a small thing but seems it depends what block you got and whether maid does this or not,  shame as we have an autistic child who would have loved that.

Sunloungers - we read a lot of reviews on sunloungers before arriving, and they are fair!  Its a nightmare, and we saw several arguments over loungers,  towels are removed upto 7am but we saw a lot of people walking off at 7am and not coming back until lunchtime whereas people were wondering looking at where to stay, we ended up going down to the pool at 6am every morning to ensure we got a bed,  on our first day  (after being reasusred its not a problem by guest relations) we couldnt get a bed and ended up at the beach.  There are not enough beds, believe the reviews on that!

Beach  - This was lovely and the water was like a warm bath, it was so nice to go out and swim in, the beach bar was nice too, in fact I preferred the food and service down there - you actually got served!  there are plenty of sunloungers.

The service was good if you went and got your own drinks, but try getting served by a waiter and you have no chance, they have their favs who as soon as they see they go up to and offer their drinks.  We were willing to tip, in fact we did in restaurant every night after we met Emre.  The food was good, albeit burgers were undercooked so check these.  The crepes were lovely and the lady making them so nice!

Food  -  Restaurant
We read a lot of reviews about the food in the restaurant and so many good comments and I am not sure how or why,  the food was warm at  best,  was the same pretty much every night and got very repetitive after 10 nights.  The kids bar was nuggets or bolognase (which was so cold one day you could put your finger into it),  the service took us 3 days to get a drink, so we started taking one in from the lobby bar but then we met Emre who we tipped, and he looked after us every night after that, took a real shine to our son who as mentioned is autistic so struggles to socialise but Emre was a credit to the hotel, probably nicest guy we met on the whole holiday and made the rest experience better.   Do not go at 7pm though, its like a feeding zoo, no controls over queues and people pushing in all over the place.  We waited until 2030 every night when it was a bit more settled.

Entertainment
The team do a daily dance which was quite fun and they seemed very friendly and fun to be around, they didnt really bother us and were not forcing you to get invovled which we liked.  The evening entertainment is not great,  4 x dance shows, 2 x live music (same singer) and then a white party which we thought would be fun but the music was absolutely dreadful, they sang the wrong songs,   the guy in animation witht he mic is really annoying too,  likes the sound of his own voice, talking over acts with "Applause, applause"  people were applausing and you didnt need to keep talking!  sorry but he really annoyed us by end of the holiday.

We went into Side on the bus which was easy 40 lira per person each way.

They need to get some self service drink machines as queues are crazy at times, they do it for tips but the waiters need training to not ignore new guests, you dont know if they will tip or not unless you serve them at least once??!

Ala carte - We only managed to get into one and this was turkish, the others were full,  we had a lovely time in the turish though, the food was stunning, the service superb, and the waiters brilliant with drinks etc.  

Lobby bar - brilliant,  nice and cosy atmosphere, more quieter with football on TV for those wanting to watch, there was service in this room and drinks were constantly flowing.

Overall we had a good holiday and stay, the rooms were nice, the people were nice if you ignore the service issues and the location was good, easy bus route into Side which was lovely.

We wouldnt personally return to this hotel and was glad to get home for the reasons we have mentioned but would not rate it less than 4 stars as we did have a nice stay but there are things the hotel should improve on and hence wanted to put a fair review on with the differnet comments.

Nice Stay, but stayed in better Turkish Hotel

Hotel is great, slight room for improvement with selection of food at evening meals, very repetitive.  Outside bars are busy and staff are rushed off their feet, in the lounge bar Kadir is an asset to the hotel, he was outstanding,  amazing service and really friendly, his English  was brilliant amd his customer service was amazing.
