We had a reservation at this hotel from September 21 to 24 for a group of five for two rooms through a family friend .I had two brothers that had stayed at this hotel previously,and they had good memories,also I would consider hotel owners family a household name.
We checked into the hotel the first day and went around town for sightseeing and came back after 10:30 pm.The air conditioners for both rooms weren't working and it was too hot also there were lots of mosquitoes , It was a terrible night.In the morning I called the service and a guy came to check,he said he would get a technician and we went around town thinking the problem would be solved.
.We came back at night the AC's for both room were still not working.I asked the guy to give us another rooms with working air conditioners. He called some people and told him the problem and person on the other line told the employee that he can't change the rooms and said that rooms were not the same categories my rooms were a higher category.I told him that doesn't matter all I needed was room with working air conditioner.He said we should stay at same rooms one more night .I told him I can't and wanted to leave he said it's up to us .Even thought we stayed only one night they charged us two full nights and said we passed check out time.
We left the hotel and looked to find another one with two rooms for two nights, and find another hotel.
It might be a good hotel and I am not comfortable writing this because of our mutual friend 
but we had a terrible experience.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

We booked a room for 2 nights 31.12.21-02.01.22 and were given room 109. Once we entered the room it was freezing, they said the room had been empty for the last week and it will warm up shortly. We opened the TV we had sound but no screen to show the display. Went to the reception the guy said all rooms are booked and that they were gonna find a solution.So l have a cold room no TV so lets chill on my phone but WTF no service, tried to connect to the wifi again WTF no signal from the router. Without having breakfast which l guess was included we left the hotel although we had another night paid. I dunno how this hotel got this high rating which fooled me going, so trust my review with pictures l included and don't be fooled by the high rates which still can't understand who gave a such good review.

Disaster

We stayed in this hotel for one night while travelling from Mardin to Tatvan. We booked the Grand Room, the most expensive room they had, with one double bed and 2 twin beds (there were photos and description of the room posted on Travelocity, the room was huge). Upon checking in we discovered that our room had one double room and a sofa…there were no twin beds in the room as advertised on Travelocity! I could’ve booked a room with a double bed and a sofa for half the cost but I specifically paid more so my 16 year old 5’8” daughter could have her own bed. But no, our 2 options were a roll away bed or a sofa. I was furious! I spent over $100 a night for this?! It was a duplex type, with stairs going up to the small second floor that had a double bed, so definitely not for people with mobility issues and should have been mentioned! Turns out my daughter’s roll away bed was a much better option than our double bed which must still be in use from centuries ago. It was rock hard and uncomfortable. Not to mention the horrible pillows. I still have a headache as I’m writing this review. 
There was only one tiny window in the entire room and because of it the room literally looked like a dungeon. Not to mention that the walls are not soundproof and there was very loud live music playing from the restaurant. We mentioned the fact that we couldn’t sleep at a local cafe and they started laughing saying that this hotel is somewhat of a local Turkish club. This should have been mentioned in hotel description! The music was so loud (and not even good) that we were dying until midnight when it finally stopped. Absolutely unacceptable! At least provide guests with ear plugs!! 
Then at 1:10 am the room phone started ringing, I just fell asleep at that point. Some guy was saying something in Turkish so I told him that I don’t understand and hung up. 2 min later someone started banging on our door so ran downstairs in our pjs thinking there’s a fire. A man from the reception was there repeating “otocar otocar otocar” and started pointing to follow him outside. I told my husband to get the car keys because it sounded like he said car and I was just afraid that something happened to our car. Imagine my surprise when the guy took us to someone’s car and pointed for us to move it because it was blocking someone’s door!!! It wasn’t even our car! We pointed to our car that was parked correctly and he was like no, this car. At that point I just started screaming and we walked away. In a civilized hotel they ask you to write down the plate number so they would know what car belongs to what guest. In this hotel it looks like they bang on every room looking for the car owner. Honestly I have never seen anything like this before. It’s like a wild wild west there.
On top of that the ac (which was covered up with a decorative gate so we couldn’t reach it) was cooling the first floor to such extent that I had to give 2 blankets to my daughter, it was freezing. But the second floor, which was like 3-4 meters above was boiling hot. My husband and I were covered in sweat. Out of curiosity I checked what the temperature was and sure enough it was 95F. 
The bathroom door did not close all the way and so would not lock, and the hotel didn’t respond to any of my emails or whatsapp messages. Even though their website says to use Whatsapp to contact them…My daughter’s bed/sofa/roll away was not set up when we came in the room and they only called for housekeeping to do so after I started getting mad… and I emailed them in the morning confirming our stay…I’m curious where they thought a 16 year old would sleep, in between me and my husband on a tiny double bed? Plus, there were no sheets in the room for me to make up the sofa bed. The woman checking us in seemed completely uninterested and said that she didn’t speak English. Usually hotel/restaurant staff would communicate with us via google translate, but nope. Not in this hotel, it seems that they are completely uninvolved with guests. Wifi was non existent in our room. And they call themselves a luxury hotel? Lol yeah ok. 
Since we have stayed in a cave hotel in Cappadocia and then some truly beautiful very old stone hotels in Sanliurfa and Mardin this hotel was nothing special to us architecturally, we’ve seen better. I definitely wish we stayed someplace else.

What can I say? This place is soo beautiful , every corner, every room,  eating dinner at rooftop, next day very good breakfast included. The manger, Jessamine and everyone around  so kind and helpful. Thank you . Great beginning of our roadtrip in southeastern Turkey

Unbelievable

My stay here was so great that it took willpower to leave! The hotel and its rooms are beautifully designed. The delightful staff hardly speak English but made a huge effort with automatic translators and sign language. By way of example they quoted me a reduced price for the room and we agreed on it, but once they realised I was travelling solo they unilaterally reduced it still further. They are really welcoming, honest and decent folk. The restaurant serves delicious food (especially the lamb dishes and desserts), while breakfast is a cheese-feast (so much it almost feels like a waste). Even more important they serve wine which is rare in Midyat and indeed similar nearby towns. There is a coffee shop close by in the atmospheric old town but the hotel should also invest in a proper coffee machine (as elsewhere in provincial towns it’s either Nescafe’ or sludgy Turkish coffee). I would actually come back here specially for a long weekend or even a week. I found Midyat friendlier than the more obviously pretty Mardin and it’s a perfect base for the surrounding monasteries and churches as well as Hasankeyf. Kasr-I-Nehroz merits a special trip, along with the equally lovely Hanehan hotel in Sanliurfa. Perhaps design a trip combining the two? You will love it !

One of my best hotel experiences on Turkey road trip

Building is a restorated  ancient mansion wich has a story. If you are looking for hospitality, tasty breakfast and delicious dinners with selected reigional wines, kind and helpfull smily staff, clean and rustic decorated modern rooms, this is the right place for you and your family.

Such a perfect authentic hotel

Kasr-I Nehroz is one of the best hotels I’ve visited. Rooms are amazing, food are delicious and the location is perfect. Staff are very helpful and kind. I definitely recommend here. Just book without any hesitation. 


Perfect 

as soon as you enter the hotel you will find the unique and unique visual beauty of midyat stones.the rooms and the entire building were made with midyat stone.the courtyard and terrace are perfect.the view is extraordinary.if you are on your way to midyat, you should definitely stay in a historic hotel.

Beautiful Hotel very nostalgic. You should take a tour of the Hotel.Rooms are very spacious a bit cold but there are blankets in the room and air conditioning. The restaurant food was ok. what we didnot approve of was they let people smoke indoors even though its against the law.

Very Nostalgic

The hotel has been really well renovated, in the old city of Midyat, and no expense spared, very tastefully done. Rooms are modern and warm yet with an old feel. We didnt eat much dinner, too tired, but breakfast was delicious with a lot of local cheese and homemade jams. But Nescafe, which was a shame, as this area is meant to pride itself on its coffee! Service was friendly and good.
