Great food, views and service.  Set in this ancient city.  So much to experience here.  Be sure to stay at least a week.  Makes all those ancient history books come alive.  Vibrant city, kind people.  A once in a life time trip, even better if you return.

Great views

Very beautiful example of fascinating Mardin buildings. We were lucky to stay in a room overlooking to the endless Mesopatamia view. Perfect location to walk around the city, to the museums, eating, shopping.. friendly, smiling staff. 

Amazing view over Mesopotamia

We (2 adults, 1 child) spent 2 nights at this hotel. Fantastic location overlooking the flat plains of Mesopotamia. The architectural structure of the hotel and surrounding buildings make you feel you've stepped back in time a few hundred years. Very attentive staff and nice rooms..ours had a fab enormous bathroom.

Wonderful Experience

First of all  Mardin is a fascinating town perched on a rocky hill  with narrow streets that go up and down. Erdoba Evleri is composed of a few palaces  with different names and different types of accommodations . The Turkish travel agency  to  which  I  turned to  for my journey   proposed me to stay  at  Erdoba Evleri but when I read the reviews I  was confused  because they  were  quite contrasting and I  expressed my  perplexity  to  the travel  agency ; the lady  in charge of it ,reassured me telling that she would book  2 suites(one for me and one for my  friends) at the Selcuklu Konagi – the best of Erdoba Evleri  palaces   which turned out to  be the right  choice.
- Selcuklu   is  not  on the main building in the main road but  two – three streets below ; to reach it you walk   down narrow bumpy paved streets, but the whole atmosphere is a step in the past  - and when we reached the stone palace we found ourselves in  a charming palace  with terraces overlooking  the endless Mesopotamian plains , stairs that led to other terraces  and small porches where suites and rooms were situated .
 Our room  , was a suite  called Salih  Bey  and was really  amazing : tastefully decorated   and furnished  with restored  old pieces of furniture and  attention to details .  The bathroom was  separated from  the room by a glass   and had a rain shower . Bathrobes and slippers were provided together with all the amenities you need  and  as the temperature outside and inside was quite hot the room had  air conditioning  to cool it. I didn’t have the same problems of humidity  that many   reviewers  complain about .  Bedding and towels were of fine quality.  
 A complimentary  dish  of fruits was offered us. 
Only the two couples of us were hosted here  and the palace was all “ours” . At sunset we were served a glass of Turkish tea  at a table  on the terrace  and we appreciated  the quiet atmosphere : no car noise , no people talking , endless horizon.

 The only drawback is the fact that breakfast is in the main building  and so you have to  go up  and  down . In addition it is  served in a basement without windows which is a nonsense considering the  big terraces that the palaces have . Breakfast  choice was not bad  but  average .

Anyway  dinner was  served on the terrace of the main palace : food was ok  , service a little slow, but the view is fantastic – 
 
WIFI  didn’t work at all. 
 Anyway  I  found the overall atmosphere charming  and magic and  I recommend Selcuklu Konagi  and if money is not a problem  the honeymoon suite on the top  floor of  this palace is superb : I  asked to see it and I  must say that it is absolutely  amazing .

Good hotel, centrally located with breathtaking views of the Mesopotamia Plains.  I stayed at this hotel in the "add-on addition" of the hotel which was clean and had a modern bathroom with plenty of hot water.  There was Wi Fi, but I had to go outside for good reception.  The amenities could use some improvement.  There was only a soap dispenser at the sink & in the shower.  No shampoo was provided and there was no drinking glasses in the room.  Also,one day it rained and I asked if I could borrow an umbrella but they did not have one and istead  pointed to a man that was selling umbrellas.   The breakfast was adequate; cheeses, olives, fries, meats, rolls and fruit. I would probably stay at this hotel again because of its central location but the next time I would plan to bring my own toiletries This is just a suggestion, but perhaps the hotel could think about providing more amenities for their guests.  All travelers love amenities!

Three- Day Stay At Osmanli

This hotel was well located and I am certain that some of the accommodations are fine, but I ended up stumbling around in the dark of a terrace and finally finding my tiny room which, I swear to you, had just been built that day and could still smell the paint and the drywall!  Tiny with nothing to put stuff on, no windows whatever, just the little AC/H thing on the wall, and to top it off there was not a smidgen of toilet tissue.  That was the first time ever and I was ready to bargain with my three fellow travelers except I had nothing to trade for it.  The staff quickly remedied the lack, but nothing could help the teeny tiny room and I wonder if it was "new" because they had made several rooms out of a decent-sized one!

Claustrophobia Attack!

The stone Konaks are beautiful with stunning views but they are not a cheap option. Osmanli Konak is well preserved with a perfect location in the old town. 
However despite the physical pluses, the village style management ruined our experience. The personnel looked miserable, wifi wasn’t working on arrival and they seemed uninterested, someone’s hair in the shower, free parking cost 40tl. 
What a pity!!

Old mardin

fist of all the service is a mess... the rooms are dirty and uncomfy - they dont clean the rooms, we didnt get any fresh towels and if we want some they just gave them in a very unfriendly way... the breakfast isnt delicious and most of the stuff are unfriendly! we dont feel comfy at all... 

Never again!

I knew Mardin, its panorama was best in April thats why I had booked our room from this hotel as I knew its panoramic view is one  of the best... Yes its still one of the best viewed Mardin Hotels but the hotel management was not professional, our one little problem went bigger and rude at our first night... But Mardin is still my one of the best picturesque destination in Turkey.  Only, there will be no "next time" for this hotel.
