A family friendly beach hotel in Ortakent (Bodrum)

We wanted a quiet and peaceful week on the Turkish coast with good food, comfortable rooms and a pool.   We found it.   Ortakent is a few miles from the package holiday nightlife of Bodrum.   It is a pleasant resort.   But the special attraction of Yilmsaz hotel is that there are no roads within a few hundred yards and none between hotel and beach, just a footpath.   So no traffic and few people.   
The hotel is very comfortable and well established.   We had a double room overlooking an excellent and spotless pool, which sits in a pleasantly shaded garden. We took half board but ended up eating there most of the time.   Food was excellent.   Restaurants are a few minutes walk away.   The sea is just across the footpath,  and you can eat at a table right beside the sea.   There is not much beach but there is an easy walkway made of what seems like astroturf to get you into the water.   We did not go anywhere apart from one day out.   
We felt very much at home,and owner Yasmin was always there,speaking fluent English,and she made our stay very comfortable.   It is very much a family hotel and there were several Turkish families often with children, with impeccable manners, staying there.

If you want a family holiday in a family atmosphere,it is the place to go.   If you are lookingfor wild nightlife, it is not.   We would happily go again.

Peaceful home from home

Whenever i feel stressed all i need to do is close my eyes and remember one of the many lazy peaceful days i've spent at the Yilmaz. It's a small beachfront hotel that i feel is a true taste of Turkey. Yasemin and her family always give me a lovely welcome. I always like to try to find places like this when visiting a country, it's so peaceful it's hard to believe Bodrum is only a short dolmus ride away - which goes from the top of the lane. There's a lovely pool which is cleaned everyday where i try to swim off some off the yummy cakes cooked fresh every teatime by Yasemin. Breakfast is served buffet style overlooking the bay and there is a menu available throughout the day and evening. The food is so tasty and healthy, mainly Turkish, that is a far cry from the "all day breakfasts and carveries" served in the bigger resorts. Whenever i've been to the Yilmaz i have travelled alone and stayed nearly three weeks at a time. The very first time i went i think Yasemin wondered if i would get bored by myself - well no chance. There is always something to catch your eye, people strolling along the beach front path, boats coming and going and of course a whole peninsula to explore if that's what you want. Yasemin will happily give you all the information you need to get around and provide you with tips of what to see. 
The hotel itself is so well loved and cared for, spotlessly clean with gorgeous flowers, trees, plenty of sun loungers, beachside dining and huge comfy cushions to chill out on. I love going to Yilmaz, and try to get out there at least once a year, in fact i can't wait for my next trip. Try it you will come away relaxed, well fed, happy and probably with a memory of a fantastic experience.

i cannot praise this hotel highly enough it has all you want for a chill out holiday , Yasemin and family are fantastic she is a brilliant host and just a lovely lady the hotel is situated right on the small beach and cars are not aloud along the front of the hotel so its great for children it also has kids pool and large adults pool food is fantastic and portions are well filling views are fantastic and at night the marina just up from hotel comes to life with fantastic sights in the night sky i have been a few times and will be returning soon to a place i have fallen in love with both my wife and i cant say enough about Yilmaz hotel and all we say is this is the Ortakent chill out hotel and Yasemin will make you more than welcome ,

Such a peaceful environment with delicious food and friendly hosts! Makes you feel like you are at home and lets you enjoy your vacation at its best! 
Rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel has the pool or seaside option to relax and refresh. 

Peaceful hotel

Following the instructions of Tripadvisor I chose this hotel. The courtesy is real. The staff is nice, welcoming and you feel immediately in the family. The general climate is however far too familiar (and I write this despite being with my little children)... The decanted beach is very small and muddy sandy. The sea water is much less beautiful than that of Bodrum. The worst are the very small rooms, without space x to move or places x to support things; without curtains, with white dirt and suspicious pinces from under the sheets.

Yasemin and his family, the staff, the air, the sea, the hotel, the pool, the restaurant, the music, the atmosphere; everything is very nice, simple, clean, calm. The location of the hotel is very well chosen, because if you want to be among the numbers, it is very easy, you can reach them on foot, as long as you even take a minibus ((Dolmuş) to Bodrum. At the Yılmaz hotel, you finally have no chance, no time to get bored if you go. Because during the day alone, by the sea, the nautical activities of the neighboring hotels offer you a pleasant spectacle.

I can't wait to be home!

We were recently with a group at the Yilmaz Hotel in Ortakent, unfortunately only for one night. The hotel is located right by the sea and has its own chairs there as well as a swimming pool. The facility makes a well-kept impression, although not all facilities are completely new. Similarly, the rooms are quite simply purpose-built - everything is in good working order, functioning impeccably and the rooms were completely clean. Because we only stayed one night, unfortunately we had to ask the operator to visit with a special family and an unwelcome problem, but all this does not break their friendliness, quite the contrary. For this help we also want to have a hearty meal in the morning, even without any fault and the rooms were completely clean.

Great location and very friendly and helpful owners!

We visited the Bodrum Peninsula and decided to stay in the town of Bodrum, we preferred to live outside. We finally landed at the Yilmaz Hotel, about seven kilometers from Bodrum. A beautiful hotel, great views, wonderful little beach, beautiful swimming pool and everything very clean. The owners were very nice and friendly. I can definitely recommend it.

Nice and comfortable

We were visiting the Bodrum Peninsula and decided not to stay in the town of Bodrum, but in a hotel outside the town. We ended up staying at the Yilmaz Hotel, about 6-7 km from Bodrum. The hotel is pleasant, with wonderful views, a beautiful little beach, and a beautiful swimming pool, and it is very clean. The people who run this facility are incredibly kind and welcoming. I highly recommend it.
