The hotel staff are very rude and disrespectful. They provided me with incorrect information.  I found the staff to be totally unprofessional. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know. I would not stay at this hotel

Disrespectful Staff

A family of five, we had and excellent week at Acelya Hotel.    Booking was made directly with Hatice Hanim who was very helpful with any inquiries I made prior to our visit.  The hotel  is in superb location,  with simple and clean air conditioned rooms, very quiet and peaceful. The beach is right in front of the hotel, small but perfectly formed. The sea is crystal clear and the scenery is to die for.  The owners Hatice Hanim, Dursun Bey and their daughter are always visible ready to answer any question and the staff works really hard to provide their best. Hotel restaurant menu has nice selection of food, snacks, drinks to order very convenient.  Breakfast and evening meals were adequate and delicious.  Yahsi bay has a wonderful long stretch of walkway  with full of shops, eateries, bakeries and evening bazaars should anyone wish to browse or do little shopping. I would highly recommend Acelya Hotel to anyone looking for a nice and simple relaxing holiday with their loved ones.   Thank you all for a wonderful holiday.

Pleasant Week Aug 9-16, 2024

This is by far one of the best paces I have stayed while on holiday, can younger any closer to the beach? I think not!
The place was just beautiful and quiet, not too busy and with beautiful views and weather.
Would love to return some day.

Ideally situated.

I have been to the Acelya Hotel for he last three years for a week at a time. The hotel is a family a run establishment, Dursun his family and staff will go above and beyond to help and make your stay enjoyable. The Acelya is situated in a great location in Yahsi Ortakent. It has its own beach directly across from the hotel as well a a lovely pool area with plenty sun beds!!. It has a great bar next to the pool area with plenty seating overlooking the sea. You can just sit and watch the world go by with a cool drink or lovely coffee. It has its own restaurant which also has a sea view with lovely food. There are lots of restaurants and shops who again are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are clean and tidy. The bins are emptied every day, bed made every day fresh sheets  and towels every couple of days and they would do it every day if you asked for it to be done. The rooms have air con, TV, fridge and safe. My husband has a bad back and we asked for a hard mattress to be put in the room and Dursun went out of his way to be helpful as always. The rooms are plain but you don't need much more when you are out most of the time. They change money for you at good rates, arrange a taxi to collect you from the airport and take you back. The staff a very helpful and will take your case to your room. If you get there late you can email them and arrange for a sandwich so you don't go hungry. There is wifi but mainly works in the main reception.Overall me and my family have had lovely time each time i have gone. Thank you to Dursun his family and his staff.
My Mam and Dad has gone to this hotel for many years and made lots of friends and would never go anywhere else. Hotel is great for couples and families as there are close bus links and taxis also water sports just down the beach

Fantastic friendly hotel

Just returned from a fortnight here and very relaxed it was indeed. Due to Ramadan it has been fairly quiet but I am not complaining. Good value for money

This hotel is no longer represented by a tour rep which is brilliant as the Brits that stay here are familiar with the hotel. It's a lovely hotel very close to the beach in a pedestrianised area. It's quiet with no entertainment unless Dursun starts an impromptu Turkish night with his Turkish guests. Food it good, bar service excellent with Ziya returning every year. Plenty of sun loungers available on the beach and poolside. Easy to get to other parts of the peninsular and Kos should you fancy a trip to Greece. Check out my other reviews as they are an honest view of the hotel pointing out the good and the not so good.

Fantastic

We have today, returned from a 2 week holiday at the Acelya Hotel. We did have much trepidation owing to the poor reviews given before we went on our holiday.
The staff we found to be pleasant, polite, obliging and respectful. The breakfast was a typical Turkish one and was always freshly put out and there was ample. The rooms are very compact, but have plenty of hanging/drawer space. Our balcony in particular (room 121) was miniscule. We arrived on a Tuesday and the towels and bedding were changed on Friday, Tuesday, Friday, this being appropriate to our needs. On arrival our room was clean, but maybe could have done with more over the 2 week period. The hot water seemed to be more plentiful before 6.30 pm when the hotel was fuller. The hotels' location was really good as it sat more or less on the beach where there were many sunbeds. The beach was uncomfortable on the feet if beach shoes weren't used. Being none smokers we were repulsed by the many cig ends discarded there. There are many bars and restaurants nearby, Viras being a must. For a more entertaining evening, maybe a trip into Bodrum should be considered. Overall we were both happy with our stay and would return to the Acelya.

Relaxing holiday

As per the previous review. We were there for 2 weeks and it was brilliant. The Sheet & Towel changing is no problem IF You Speak to the chambermaids. A really sweaty first couple of nights and shed loads of showers meant a potential problem but with a smile and a Please & Thank You the linen was changed every 2nd or 3rd day. Reviewers slating the place should ask themselves if the room was SO Dirty etc, did they walk 200 yards to the mini market for cleaning products and leave the place spotless ? Or were they happy to live in the place adding their own detritus ? Turkey has come a long way in the past 15 years and yes they have a bit further to go, but when you look at value for money you can't beat this place. Brilliant staff, etc. If you want daily room service then dip your hand a lot deeper into your pocket. As for the location, breakfast can be taken on the beach, about 6 paces from the restaurant, private sunbeds are 4 deep with the front row dangling their feet into the sea. Bodrum, with all it's City Life was 20 mins or so on the local very frequent dolmus and cost less than £2, our local bus charges £2.60 to go a tiny fraction of the distance. They also run 'til 0300. The Acelya isn't for those wanting Britain Abroad, but if you want to see real Turkey, Camels & All, then this is an ideal Hotel & Location. Many we spoke to were on their 4th & 5th visit. One couple were there in May and again in September. Negative reviewers should get off their pompous bums and move to the 4 & 5 star accommodation that they are used to 'or not' as is more likely. The problem with modern technology is that it allows people to hide whilst slagging others off, where-as if they were face to face would they be so arrogant & rude ? Tyne&Wear ? If a Turk goes to Newcastle Do the hotels cater for them or are the Turks expected to use their intelligence and find something or somewhere they like. Turks eat a lot of fresh salad, veg etc, A bit of a change for a lot Brits. If you don't like the standards, food or people of a foreign country,... stay home.
