What a wonderful historic experience.  This three hundred year old Ottoman style building converted to a boutique hotel is an easy stroll to the old town Safranbolu shopping district, restaurants and museums.  This UNISCO building has been fully modernized with bathrooms and heating.  Our bed was comfortable and we had instant heat in the shower.  

The furnishings and rooms stayed true to the Ottoman design with a long bench couch along the wall and intricate wood work on the floors, cabinets along the walls and ceiling.  I loved the detail in the molding and the rose carvings in the ceiling.  All floors were covered with wonderful Turkish rugs.  

Our host, Özlem, provides the most delightful local cuisine for breakfast much of which has been prepared and sourced locally. She is also a vibrant person that laughs easily and loves to visit with us. We left early and she prepared a sack breakfast for us as we traveled down the road.

There are many motels in the area but this one has secure parking for our bicycle. She even has an area to securely park three vehicles, a benefit in this town.  Many hotels in Safranbolu do not appear to have even street parking.

Highly recommended restful stay

It's a friendly guest house at the old building run by family. The house is very cozy and rooms spacious with many old details and beautiful wooden windows. The whole house is very clean. They even clean wheels of your suitcase before entering. You can eat a nice breakfast at the garden. They also helped to washed my family clothes for free. There are parking places for couple of cars. Historic town is actually around you and old center just some steps away. Seems that many guests stay only one night but it's worth to stay two nights for whole exploration, visit of historic Yörük village, relaxing at old hammam etc.

Friendly old house

Our stay at Çamlıca konağı was perfect. The room was spacious and cozy. The surrounding is truly beautiful and the sound of the river flowing nearby is as enjoyable in the day as it is calming in the nighttime. The location is perfect and the atmosphere of the house is very warm. The landlord makes it even warmer with her kindness and great service. We felt very welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Perfect stay

In an Ottoman home restored to a comfortable standard without losing all of its original character, this small hotel is a fine and affordable choice with a good location just off the main road in Safranbolu. Hospitable Özlem served a fabulous breakfast in the garden, and there's even a couple of on-site parking spaces. Light sleepers be warned, there's a mosque right next door, but outside of ezan times, it's a quiet spot with a warm welcome. Recommended.

Best location you can find in safranbolu. privet parking is so important for us because you can not find park space in safranbolu....
the owners was so friendly and nice.

Mrs. Ozlem (Özlem) and her lovely parents are one of the hosts you might only find in old tales. They are representative of traditional Turkish Hospitality.

Delicious food, clean rooms and toilets, safe and family environment will be essential for your accommodation.

Magnificent Environment and Priceless Experience

It was a lovely experience. Very helpful staff, very clean rooms. Great breakfast with homemade jams, freshly picked cherry tomates. They dont speak much english, but it was an easy - no fuss stay. Walking distance to all touristic sites. 

Very friendly environment / people

We spent some lovely days in Camlica Konagi, Özlem explained us everything to reach the interesting places of safranbolu and even helped us to find a camping tent, despite the fact that we coulnd't speak turkish! She and her parents even drove us to the beautiful cavern which is not far from the house! The house can be reached easyly by bus (only five minutes walk between the dolmus stop and the house) and is very pleasant with the big terrace and the garden. The room was pretty and perfectly clean, such as the bathroom. We totally recommand Safranbolu Camlica Konagi!

Very welcoming and peaceful guesthouse!

At the end of our 2 weeks trip in Turkey, my husband and I talked about the best/worst things in our trip. We both put Camlika as one of the best experiences on our trip ! When I think about Camlika, those words comes to mind : kindness, warm atmosphere, enchanting decore, family. 

The lady and her parents are absolutely charming and hard-working people. The reservation we made at the last minute on booking site was not sent to them and we arrived late (around 8 pm), tired and a bit scared because they live in a quiet campaign like area where there is not a lot of lights at night. The family was eating with family guests and they offered us a warm welcome and invited us to eat with them good authentic turquish food ! Even if we did not understand each other a lot, we just knew with their smiles that we were more then welcome. It was very conforting. 

The breakfeasts are very good, fresh and traditionnal !

The best experience for me was being in the 2 beds room (great view at the moutains) and being waked up around 5h00 AM with the muslim call to prayer ! We had the window wide open and could ear it very well and could see the sky filled with stars. I'm not muslim and did not understand any of the words, but the "chantings" echo in the mountains at night is something I'll always remember and feel very lucky to have lived. I highly recommend it !! If you don't want to ear it, close the window ! ;-)

We ended up staying 2 nights and unlike hotels, we will never forget this place and the family. :-)

Paisible

This was my second time staying at this pleasant family house since June 2011. It is rather a family house than a pension due to the overwhelming feel and warm welcome from the family runing this property. I decided to bring my mother, my brother & his wife, my sister and her husband and children, and ofcourse my wife and kids as we like to feel we are at home. For the first time, we had a family cooked dinner which was rather delicious and the breakfast ofcourse was great, crowned by their famous home made jams!. The family loves children and they are patient with all sort of travellers, thats why I am going to stay again at this place If I ever come to Safrabolu again!
