Stayed at this hotel as it was walking distance to the location of my meetings, and was chosen by my hosts. 

Large rooms with the option of opening the window or using the air conditioning. Sofa in all rooms. Bed was very comfortable, and bathroom had a shower in good working order. Excellent WiFi connectivity. Restaurant is in two parts - a coffee shop and more formal but decor is nice in each. Great value for money. 

Not much English spoken here but adequate to get by.

Spacious rooms and good restaurant

My room cost 25 dollars. It's clean. It's all working. There's no fan, water, slippers, a variety of cosmetics, but for that kind of money and everything is enough. Everything looks like the picture on the website, and there's a delicious and satisfying breakfast included. The hotel restaurant is simple, but delicious and cheap. You can bring food to the room.

A good hotel for your money.

I've never seen a suite like this for only 30 euros a night (with living room, leather sofas, bar and 2x2 bed) and a special breakfast included in the price.

A good breakfast. Get a room off the road located on a busy highway near the port.

Mariner Mariupol Great for a business trip

The hotel is perfect if you want to spend the night in a decent place for a reasonable price: basic rooms are simple but clean, with a fridge, cold water, tv and air condition. Bathrooms are either renovated or not, but they are never below my standards. The room comes with a hearthy breakfast which you can choose from a Soviet-style list, including salads, egg dishes and pancakes. It is really nice but don't expect to have some low cholesterol options...
The place is located close to the seaside and a bit more far from the center, but marsrutka network is good and you can go anywhere in town easily.

simple but good quality

I have to admit that the restaurant has excellent food, certainly to appreciate the Ukrainian cuisine that is well-groomed and sought after, anyone who goes to the Eastern countries must necessarily avoid Italian cuisine and stop at the tastes of Ukrainian cuisine that is really good. Excellent and impeccable service in a beautiful non-smoking liberty room. Cozy atmosphere. Sinister outdoor smokers suck the windows open in summer. Price about 20 euros per person with meat salad as well as a second dish of meat, wine and cognac with coffee where the Italian espresso approaches our coffee.

The restaurant

Just in general:

When I made my trip to Mariupol I didn't exptected much of the hotels. All I needed was a place to stay in the evening. But because I had some expensive stuff with me I didn't wanted to book the cheapest hotel available. That's why I chose the Moryak hotel.

I can recommend the hotel for people who just need an average stay for the night. The hotelrooms are okay (my half broken bed was not!), the restaurant looks really nice and new and the staff is friendly however most of them don't speak english. 

Critism:

*The biggest negative point is the moneypart. When I arrived at the receptionlady told me to pay 1600 UAH. Just as I wanted to do that she grabbed a paper and said I had to pay something like 3000. It was 'my price' via internet. It was impossible to discuss with this lady because her english was bad. But I agreed paying the 3000, after all it was what I agreed on with internet. After the week I wanted to stay one day longer. On a sign there was the (Russian) announcement one night costed around 320 UAH. The lady at the desk however said I had to pay 380. I know the differents of these prices are nothing when you convert the amounts of money into euro's (6), but it's strange to change the prices to diffrent hotel guests. I suspect the hotel of changing prices for european visitors to get some more money. And I even can understand that, but it makes low principles. 

**Me was told there was an european breakfast. I'm not a picky guy when it comes to food, but I know european breakfasts look different than the things I saw on my plate. You can chose some food from a card. I took a salade, some warm eggs and yoghurt. And one tea. For every refill you have to pay extra. So you want some juice too? Pay extra afterwards! I would advise the hotel to skip that. Just make sure you have some more bread and bread spreads. Make some kind of buffet for all the guests. Breakfast is no evening dinner. ;)

***People who have to be in city center fast, don't go to this hotel. The distance to the theater, main shopping streets and all the hot spots is pretty far. The trainstation is a bit closer, but still far. I took the marschrukta ('bus') often and had to drive at least 15 minutes. Busstation (AutoWokzal) is 25 minutes away. 

Positive Notes:

* The roomservice was excellent. My bathroom was nice and tight during my stay, they really did a good job. Lobby, Restaurant and hallways looked good too. 

** There is a busstop close to the hotel. You can take marchrutka's and trolleybusses frome there. The marchrutka's to the center have the numbers 118 and 105. The trolleys go to the center too. Also a bank is situated one minute walking from the hotel. If you want to change money, do it there. 

*** The Azovsea isn't far away from the hotel. After a quick walk you are at the beach. I would not swim in it, but you can spend a nice day there with the people that live there. Enjoy the good weather with a beer or some other baverage. There are some little bars at the beach too, I can imagine it's great to hang out there.

**** If you don't want to enjoy your eveningmeal at the hotel, go to a nearby square. There are some fastfoodshops there. There is also a nightshop, so if you run out of food or water (!) go there.
