Hotel Complex Gayki

First, understand that hotels in this city are very limited (& I've been traveling there since 1993). So a rating of 4 has to be taken in context - i.e., not quite the same as a 4 in NYC! However, the Gayki is a fairly recent addition to the hotel scene there, & a welcome one. I've stayed there a few times in recent years. It's quiet (unless you're unfortunate enough to get a room on 2-3 fl directly above the ball room & its loud music), clean, & reasonably comfortable. And, it's inexpensive - $18 per night on our most recent visit. (The Reikartz in town is nicer, but more than double the price, & it doesn't get rave reviews.) Each room has a clean bathroom with a "shower cabin" (no tubs). Beds are okay. Breakfast included with the room, & it's a decent buffet (basically the same every morning, however). All in all, it's a great price for what you get, & it's in an excellent location, very near many of the city's restaurants & other attractions. Like most Ukrainian hotels, it's not a resort, so don't look for a lot of amenities. But if you're looking for a clean place to stay at a great price in a good location, this is it.
