Joshua greeted us on arrival in the bar and showed us to our room on the first floor at the side of the pub. 
A pleasant room which despite having both sash window open was rather warm, but it was nearly 30°c outside. There was a fan which helped to cool the room a little.

The bed, or at least the mattress seem almost brand new and had several toppers  and protectors on. A fussy sleeper I was impressed with the bedsheet and duvet  quality and laundering. My wife and I agreed it was an extremely comfortable bed and despite the temperature we had a very comfortable undisturbed night. 
The shower was a soaker type and had plenty of pressure and was great. It had nowhere to put your shower gel and shampoo though and some of the grouting was a little grubby. 

The room overall was very clean and had available plug sockets at the sides of the bed for phone charging etc. In fact I managed to leave my watch charger there and Elle kindly arranged for its return by post and wouldn’t take any postage payment. 

We had a very nice pizza, a beer and a glass of wine  in the teepee in the small garden out the back which was quite unusual and very pleasant.

Breakfast is a self service continental in the shared kitchen adjacent to our room. 
There was a reasonable choice available on the evening we arrived but by the next morning a lot of it was taken by the only other guests, 2 young guys in the room at the end of the hall, so our choice was limited, although I’m sure if we’d asked the pub would have replenished it, but we didn’t bother. 
So overall we would definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend it.

Overnight stay on one of those unusually hot days in September.

Had a 1 night stay at the Porterhouse, with my girl friends.  We loved everything about the place.  Rooms were light and clean.  Had everything we need in them.  The  kitchen was lovely, it was nice to have a place to sit and have a drink.  The continental breakfast had everything you could have imagine in it. We also had lunch on arrival and the Mushroom & Haloumi Burger was fantastic.  We are thing of going back just to stay at the pub because we like it so much.  Thanks to all the staff.

Fantastic stay, we will be back

We attended The Porterhouse for a late lunch on a Thursday. Service was fantastic and the food was even better! Food was all made to order and we’re offered to make amendments if needs be. We had a brownie for dessert which was beautiful also! Thank you Chloe H for great service and Craig in the kitchen!

Amazing dinner

This was a great stay with friendly staff and I would highly recommend, the bed was so comfortable it was hard to wake-up! I was also surprised at how quiet the room was too considering it is a pub downstairs. I would not hesitate to return, thanks!

Great stay!

Having spent a long day training we were happy to finally get to relax in the comfort of The Porterhouse restaurant. The vegetarians in our party had several options to choose from and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals, topped off with delicious deserts. The lady who gave the training was booked in for the night and reported back that she was very pleased with her room and will happily stay there again. Overall a really enjoyable evening. Thanks to all the lovely staff who looked after us so well.

chips cold bread half baked so is the landlord over priced its in a nice spot but it was not upto my expectations its a while since I have been and it might have changed but overall experience very poor drove down the road at the side and it had loads of rubbish dumped and a burned out car must be a bit rough round there at night

Everything you could want from a B&B and very friendly too. The food at the pub is amazing - not at all what you would expect from a small village. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will stay again when we next need a B&B near to Cambridge.

Lovely stay not far from Cambridge centre

Stopped here for a beer half way into a bike ride. 
Decided to eat as well so both had sausage & mash. 
Sausages were hard as they had been cooked far too long. Assume pre-cooked and then finished later.
Came with a mustard mash and a thick gravy..mustard mash had no real taste but good consistency.. gravy was far too thick and used to smother the burnt sausages.
The menu read so much better than the food tasted.
Wasn’t cheap either so won’t be back

Sausages & Mash

We stayed in the studio, a bedsit type room with bedroom, sitting area, shower room and kitchen area. The only downside is outside noise from the road. They provide a very generous supply of food to make your own breakfast. It is comfortable and warm and they are very friendly.

Pleasan and comfortable stay

Visited here first weekend of September. The hotel’s appaearance and style is lovely and lovely touch of leaving some chocolate in the room on arrival. Liked the kitchen area and the general appearance of the hotel. Excellent shower. 
However, a few key areas really let the stay let down. Firstly, the bed was clearly two singles pushed together, not a double which left a bit, uncomfortable gap in the middle meaning to sit on it or sleep meant being pushed over on one side - would have actually been more comfortable to just sleep on a single beds 
2. the room had a large bright green fire escape light above the door which meant the room was bright and made sleeping difficult - no way of turning this off and really did flood the entire room to the extent that I was forced to try and make shift a barrier with a blanket to try and block out some of the light! 
Lastly, breakfast had a really poor choice. I was aware it would be continental which is great as I am not a huge fan of cooked breakfasts. However, the the selection on offer consisted of the following: 2 small loaves of standard sliced bread, 2 (quite stale) croissants, some small shop bought muffins, yoghurt, 2 choices of cereal (alone and granola with either nuts or no not) a bowl of red grapes and 1 small, browned banana. Sharing this was myself and the couple in the next room - so there was not enough for 1 croissant each or a banana each. There were no jams or white bread left in the morning after the other couple had made toast the previous evening (the small selection was put out before our arrival) so there was limited options available. Yoghurt and grapes don’t mix - would have been nice to have some berries or more fruit selection and muffins are not the best breakfast choice - in my view, a continental spread should include pastries and 2 croissants between 3, with no jam or other pastry options was disappointing.

The 2 most basic things for a bed and breakfast is a good comfortable nights sleep which I couldn’t get because of th bright light in the room and big divide in the bed, and breakfast which was disappointing. 

A real shame because the hotel itself was lovely and had real potential to be excellent, was just let down by some key areas. 

Sadly I wouldn’t stay here again.
