Location great for peace and quiet 
However far to overpriced at £75 for my night for standard of accomadation
I stayed in Gwyn studio
Dark, stone walls and the furniture and curtains tatty and dirty. Cobwebs everywhere along with spindly spiders 
Micro kitchen in cupboards smelt and microwave really dirty and smelt burnt
TV too small to watch in the single beds
Didnt use shower as shower head brown 
Headboard needs replacing as tatty and dirty 
Very disappointed after paying so much for poor experience and I stay in hotels and b & b's alot
Wont stay again 

Peaceful location but accomodation not value for money 

We have just had a 2 night stay here.and not had a great time.We paid £231 for the 2 nights including the cost for our 2 dogs.which £20
The cottage Melyn was cold and not been cleaned when we arrived. The microwave was rusty and greasy inside and out .you could see the grease without opening the door.
The grill pan and oven tray still had previous guests food stuck to it .
The toilet wasn't clean .it just had bits of toilet duck in the bowl.and the seat.needed attaching before we could use it ! Which we had to do.as no one is there for check in.the key is just left on the table.the bathroom floor had fluff all over it.so clearly hadn't been cleaned.
The seal round the shower is filthy and really needs replacing. And it smells of damp in the bathroom.it also doesn't have a lock.jyst a chain that used to be attached to something that's no longer there.
And the lamp in the twin bedroom was broken ( which isn't a bedroom. It's an alcove with a curtain over the entrance.)
The owner/caretaker came over about 2 hours after we arrived and seemed shocked by the lack of cleanliness.which is surprising as a lot reviews on here and a well known booking site has mentioned the lack of cleanliness a lot of times in these cottages.!!!
He promised to sort it while we were out the next day.we came back the following day to see a new microwave. The grill and trays had been washed and the broken lamp had been replaced.so he kept his word.but he didn't come back to see if we were happy.
Now to the underfloor heating.it barely worked downstairs and didn't work upstairs at all.which really wasn't good the beginning of March when it was 1 degree outside.
The double bed mattress was very uncomfortable the 
bedding was stained and thin.as our the cheap towels. .and as the floor is wooden as soon as you sit on the bed it slides across the room. Could be dangerous if you are disabled and aren't aware of this. They need to stabalise it. We have laminate flooring and our bed doesn't do this ? 
The double bedroom door doesn't shut and had to put shoes behind the door to keep it shut.again it has a chain on it to lock it but nothing for the chain to attach to. The flooring in the bedroom is a mess and looks unfinished.and there was dust on the skirting board.
It's 1.45 in the morning on our last night here  and I'm sat up in bed ,can't sleep because of the mattress and the cold. I should not have to go on holiday and try to sleep in my pjs ,a jumper and socks .
They provide logs and firelighters for the fire downstairs .but you have to pay £5 .they say the underfloor heating is fine.and putting the log fire on is a luxury ,but when the heating doesn't work properly  getting warm ISNT a luxury and at £211 ( without dogs) for 2  nights the logs should be included.and there should be blankets in the cupboards for the bedrooms if they are going to provide thin bedding.
 This is such a shame as the buildings themselves are lovely.and the views are amazing.
These cottages could be outstanding with a bit more love and tlc and more thoughts given to guests comfort.
We are househunting in the area,and we had looked forward to this being our usual accommodation  to stay in but given the poor cleanliness and cold.unfortunately we won't  be returning

Extremely Dissapointed

My daughter and I plus our dogs. Booked and paid for 3 nights, left after 2. The photos don’t reflect the size of the room (it’s very very small) and the two single beds are squashed together into a small space - you have to climb onto one of them to get into it as there’s no room to walk around it. We had to move one mattress onto the floor by the fireplace as it was like sleeping on a double bed - we expected at least a little space between the beds. Beds uncomfortable, although the linen was good.  
Immaculately clean and well equipped kitchenette. Bathroom/shower was great. We were told that the room was big enough/suitable for 2 adults and 3 dogs - it isn’t - and had we known the true size and bed situation we wouldn’t have booked it. 

We were constantly having to stop our dogs from walking around as it was noisy on the floor, there were people in the flat below, and there were signs everywhere telling you to keep the noise down - not relaxing at all for us or the doggo’s. 

The long walk along the old railway path is good but there’s nothing else around the property to walk your dogs - all out of bounds. 

Some of the info on the website and in the property needs reviewing and updating - an example is a 10 minute walk to the waterfalls when in fact it’s a 20 minute drive. 

If you’re a couple then it would be ok but not as it was sold to us. I emailed the owner well in advance of writing this review but no response received.

Glas studio - disappointing

We have stayed here many times now and never tire of it.
We generally stay in the ground  floor studio and for the two of us it is ideal, my wife is disabled so having all to hand is great.Fab views and Richard and Sheila are si friendly and welcoming. Close enough to town with good taxi services if you want a car free day

Lovely stay yet again

Stayed in the Arian cottage. Sheila was very welcoming on arrival and made sure we were OK on departure. 
The cottage had everything we needed, was charactered and cosy.

Directions, follow the directions they provide before arrival they are sooo easy, unsure why people complain about this.

It is a nice private cottage with land but there are neighbours and they should be respected in this rural area. Sheila did ask not to let the dogs run loose and rightly so. Unfortunately others staying caused chaos and complained because they broke these rules.  It's not difficult and such a shame as they will not be able to accommodate dogs with ignorant people! You wouldn't let your dogs run amok at home or disrespect your neighbours. 

A sofa cover was provided for the dogs too which is lovely. 

We had a fire going all day on the Sunday £5 a bucket of logs , reasonable and perfect. 

Nice and close to shops , pen y fan , waterfalls etc so great location. 

Everything you need and would stay here again for sure.

Excellent stay 

The moment we arrived we felt relaxed.  Our cottage was cosy, immaculate and beautiful with everything you need.  The location is stunning and the views are incredible. Great location for walking and bike rides. The location is ideal to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Cardiff, that is only 40mins away and the tranquility of the South Wales Valleys at the same time. The hosts were wonderful and we can’t wait to return. It is a very special place.

Amazing

Absolutely beautiful, underfloor heating made a cosy cottage home from home, stunning views across the cynon Valley.Comfortable beds well equipped kitchen.I forgot all my streeses whilst here great base for sight  seeing close to beautiful Brecon Becons, Cardiff etc.Warm welcoming locals.

De stress in this beautiful cottage.

Before I go on, be aware that the owners, after my complain (and photos of the room were posted online), took the extraordinary measures to remove their google reviews page. So read on and learn why this really isn't the place for your Wales stay.

I had been looking for an overnight stay in the area close to where my sister hosted a pre-Christmas day for the niece and nephews. I found the Gwyn Suite on Booking.com and ended up booking directly with them because it was cheaper. Alas, an error on my part meant that I had booked the wrong day. I had emailed them about a change to my booking and fortunately they pointed out the error I had made - a positive start. I did notice that Richard, the gentleman who called me, seemed rather cold in demeanour.

Then came the night of my stay. It was a cold and stormy Saturday night. I pulled up and was delighted by the exterior of the cottages. I grabbed my things and sure enough, as I was told, the door was open and the key on the table.

First, I tried to find a light switch. Fumbling in the dark I saw a bedside light. Only, there was no bulb. Then I found hanging light switches - now I could see. I realised, to my horror, that the bedside light was not only missing a bulb, but was turned on at the plug socket! If someone had a kid, knowing how kids can be curious, it could have been disastrous. I wanted to shower, it had been a long day. I inspected the incredible looking spa shower, but quickly found it wasn't connected and plumed in. Then, I realised that the shower head, which was hanging limply, wouldn't stay in position to shower. I noticed a screw needed to be tightened, but I couldn't find one. Whilst looking for a screw I noticed the kitchen area, which is cleverly inside a cupboard, smelt rather 'funky' - a good job, then, that it was closed (as cupboards are). I then realised that the double bed I had paid for was actually two singles. This is common, however, they were not joined, nor could they be (see the photos). I then realised that the mattresses were terrible, they couldn't support me (and I am not particularly heavy), and worse yet, the springs were only too apparent. On the plus side, the bedding, whilst torn, was fresh smelling.

I went back to the bathroom and figured out I could wrap the hose around the fixtures to hold it in place... great. Then, as i pulled the shower curtain around me and turned on the water, I realised the curtain was orange filthy with slimy mildew! Then, I realised the shower head was spraying water poorly, and in all directions. It was covered in shower head crud, meaning the water couldn't escape the head properly. I scrapped it with the back of the toe clippers I had to hand, and this helped a little, but by this time I was somewhat mortified. I also spotted, as my awareness of the poor state of the room continued to grow, that black mildew spots of damp were all around the bathroom window.

As I dried myself off I realised that the towel smelt a bit peculiar too... was there any end to this? Other guest arrived, it was apparent because, despite the reviews, I could hear them, clearly. I closed the thin curtains and realised that the bright orange light from outside lit the room so brightly that for me it was very distracting, even with my eyes closed. I hung a quilt over the curtains and laid down. Only to hear drip, drip, drip.

I got up and noticed the front door was letting in water, that the lower door was rotting and the foot mat was soaking wet too. Frankly the whole place was tired and neglected.

Here is the astonishing part. I email the owners after my stay, with photos, and telling them that, as a trusted Google Reviewer, I had uploaded my review to Google, with photos added. Astonishingly, two days later, having heard no reply, I went to look at my review and found the whole farm site missing! I don't know how they did it, but essentially, as I suspected, the reviews were warped and the truth clearly so ugly they've taken action to prevent others from seeing the truth. So my advice to you is, DO NOT STAY HERE. It is worrying behaviour from owners who clearly don't take safety or basic maintenance seriously.

Extraordinarily Bad Place To Stay

We stayed in Gwyn  which is a studio apartment and was very comfortable, as in other reviews I have to say the noise from the upstairs apartment was a little annoying every footstep could be heard. (thankfully I think our neighbours were contractors who settled down early so it wasn't too bad. although they did wake me up as the went out early in the morning).
The aparment is very well equipped  and more than adequated for a short break, the enclosed garden at the front was ideal for our dog - a real bonus.
However the lack of attention to detail, maintenance and cleanliness  and the generally tired appearnce of the furnishings have really let this place down. The kitchen unit and fridge needed a deep clean, the shower unit looked tired and dirty didn't drain very well,  the toothbrush mug was cracked and the toilet brush handle broken, these items should have been removed if not replaced. The sofa was in a very poor condition and mismatched scatter cushions looked tired and dirty.

Its such a shame that  little things spoiled our overall experience.

An overnight stop in trnasit to South Wales

This really was a beautiful find for a last minute escape. We stayed in Glas, the studio and it had everything we needed. The decor is tasteful with lots of little touches. The magazines, books, toiletries and tea and coffee supplies were all unexpected. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing weekend break. Wish we could stay longer. Richard was very helpful and checked in on us when we arrived. Thank you. Hope we can come back again.
