This place has lots of potentials to grow and become a five star hostel. But it's a poor one or two stars because several reasons: there's no love, attention or whatover developed in make a pleasant stay. Many practical things do not work -gas pits, warm water, fridges, etc- 
The worse is the manager, a lady who obviously has been too long on a chair she occupies despite her lack of commitment or interest in improving things. I asked that lady why she's so rude. She doesn't even greet customers! 
And then the location: so extremely difficult to reach, a bus goes nearby but it only rides once a million years.

A worthless place thanks to the human factor

We had a private room with a bathroom. Clean enough and to a high standard. Great shower with good consistent temperature. Bed a little firm but comfy enough. One night I slept 10 hours so can't complain. Shared kitchen is lovely and clean. Were other occupants but was quiet. Internet never worked for me but I had data. No TV but seems a clear emphasis on quiet time which was nice. Building is beautiful and the tiles as you approach the reception are beautiful. Worth staying at.

Pleasant experience

Every single staff member was absolutely lovely, friendly and most welcoming.
Will definitely return here.

Beds comfortable, shower rooms and toilets in immaculate condition.
The kitchen was always neat and clean. 
The quiet room, TV room and evening dining room were pleasant and relaxing.

A little bit of heaven

This Hostel should have higher reviews. I stayed in a three person private room without a bathroom for one night and everything was very clean and fresh. The staff at the front desk were helpful with how to use the bus and check in and out. The building and area that the hostel is located is very nice albeit a bit outside the city center but we had no trouble going back and forth. The bathrooms were clean as well. I am not sure how it would be if the hostel were more busy but we had a very pleasant stay.

Excellent, Clean Stay

We spent two nights here and had a great time (in a private room).The room was clean, it was spacious, there was room to hang the shrouds and put things away.Many plugs and the shower is wide.Sale at a midnight price (about £50/private room).

Very clean and comfortable, like a 3* hotel with parking included.

We slept in the bedrooms, located on the top floor, the bedrooms are clean and the sanitary facilities are also clean. Only one shower worked in the men's bathroom. The bedrooms are not mixed. The reception was warm and the common areas cater to all needs. The hostel is quiet and is a little detached from the city center, but there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. Little bemool, the beds are very close in the dormitory and there is only one for 6 beds. We were able to leave our luggage for free in a closed room after our night.

Calm, Clean and Modern

It's fine to be a youth hostel, but the downside is that it's far from downtown and requires a 30-minute walk.For the acceptable price-quality, I don't recommend it for a disabled person because it doesn't have an elevator and depends on the lack of security (no closets).

El Albergue is within easy reach, but far from the centre.

Okay, I start right away by saying that the location is uncomfortable, a 20-minute walk from downtown, along a busy street and away from pubs or supermarkets (but I might be wrong about that, I've only been there one night). The positive aspects are: spacious room (at least mine..) with beds larger than average hostels, clean and well-kept bathrooms and shower with clothes hangers (which is not so cheap..) and wifi in the rooms the negative aspects, but easily improved are: the lack of info at the reception, no number on the card to understand your room number, the lack of electricity, the general disorder of the kitchen and the lack of the or coffee.

All you need to do is take a few simple steps.

staff are really good very helpful the manager is brill the best place to stay in Aberdeen there bus stop outside that take in to town the bus tickets are 4 pound for whole day  that done by first bus Aberdeen there plenty to do in town there bars pubs clubs plenty to you get your bus tickets from the drivers on the bus

no place like home

ABJ convenient and comfortable £46 for a room with private SDB it's very reasonable! Ideal for anyone who wants quiet and modern clean accommodation with kitchen and living room. 2km from the city centre, bus in front of the hostel free parking in the back very well if you want a friendly ABJ then take another.
