We had a lovely few days at this hotel. Staff was kind and accommodating. Our room was absolutely lovely. We especially enjoyed the whisky left in our room every evening. Meals were very nice as well.

Lovely hotel

A gem in the heart of Speyside. Revisited the Craig after 20 years to see what had changed. What hasn’t? The whole hotel has been refurbished around 10 years ago, the design has been refreshed, the rooms are spacious and modern, however they’ve kept their charm of the past. One small disappointment was the whisky bar no longer being in the corner of the hotel. This was iconic in so far as the bar was surrounded by shelves of whisky on every wall, never been anywhere like it since. Unfortunately it’s now moved along the hall, and whilst having a large selection of whiskies and a knowledgable barman, it’s not quite the same. 
However this shouldn’t detract from the whole ambience of the hotel. Just go you’ll love it.

A true gem

We stayed for 3 nights in March 2024. We had originally looked at another inn across the street and reviews here led us to change our booking. Glad we did.  The hotel is perfectly situated with direct access to the speyside way and a few hundred yards from the Craigellachie bridge. It is walking distance to Aberlour where you can find a number of cafe's and a restaurant or two, and a few minutes by car will have you to to Archiestown or Duffdown and any of a dozen plus distilleries.  We hired Craigellachie Taxi to drive us to our distillery tours and were able to make the most out of our visit- they were quite reasonable. Can't say enough about them.

The hotel has a great little restaurant (Spey Inn) and a wonderful whisky bar (the Quaich). We had two meals at the Spey Inn and enjoyed everything we ate.  The Hotel is directly across the street from the Highlander Inn where you can also grab a bite - the atmosphere at the Spey Inn and Quaich are a bit more refined but enjoyed both.

Our full/king size room was comfortable but i wouldn't call it luxurious. TV was a bit dated and internet connectivity was a bit intermittent - good enough for email and downloading- a bit spotty for streaming. That said, we didn't come here to sit in the room on zoom calls. While not modern, everything was spotless.

We couldn't ask for more from the staff. Everyone was cheery, helpful and positive. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Nice hotel/Perfectly Situated

The hotel was charming and authentic, the staff was knowledgeable and helpful, the restaurant offered many options, and the whisky bar upstairs was perhaps the largest collection I’ve ever seen. I recommend this place!

Charming Hotel in Speyside

A wonderful hotel in a wonderful location.

From the moment we arrived for our stay everything was first class, huge pillows, friendly staff and also knowledgeable on the area (we wanted to see a distillery).

We chose to dine on night 1 and enjoyed lovely local produce, my scallop starter was first class, M had the Cullen Skink which was lovely.

Both of us had a steak for main with an amazing diance and blue cheese sauce, cooked to perfection.

Oh, and the breakfast....WOW.

Would go back.

Amazing

We loved our stay here. It’s such a relaxing place and was so nice to be able to enjoy the nice weather with drinks outside at the Spey Inn.  This was one of our favorite stops on our 2 week trip. Our room was spacious and lovely. Dinner was fantastic and our server was helpful and personable. The Quaich Bar was perfect for a nightcap and to meet some of the other guests. I hope that we can stay here again and enjoy more of the area.

Perfect!

This was our second visit to the hotel and we found our second stay just as good as the first. The “comfy luxe” room is quite pricy but worth it especially for a “special occasion” with a supremely comfortable bed, great en suite and fabulous facilities. Staff were, as ever, really helpful and friendly, breakfast good and the food and service in the “Spey Inn” was superb. Really enjoyed the entertainment (solo singer) in the bar on the Saturday night and, of course, the location of the hotel was wonderful. We went to the Walkers shortbread shop, the Glenfarclas distillery and Cawdor Castle as well as driving through some beautiful countryside. Looking forward to returning.

Good as ever

We loved staying at this hotel! We were able to take short drives to several attractions as well as enjoyed shorter walks around the area. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed the Spey Inn for dinner. Brett at The Quaich Bar was knowledgeable when it came to whiskey recommendations and was just fun to chat with. 😊

Wonderful Stay

We stayed here as it was close to the Glenfiddich distillery and it was my first time travelling as far North. As a London boy it was a completely different change of pace and very relaxing. The journey from Edinburgh up was beautiful and the hotel is an ideal location in Speyside for all the distilleries. 

We stayed in the Comfy Lux for 2 nights, the room is spacious with lovely views of the Scottish  hills. The room and en-suite was very clean, fresh and comfortable. The touch of complimentary whisky in the room was a lovely touch. The small things make a big difference. 

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We did eat in the Copper Dog both nights and had an enjoyable experience both nights. However the food on the Saturday night in comparison to the Friday was like day and night. Compliments to the chef for the Valentines menu and food on the Saturday, some of the best scallops we have tried. 

We did go to the Quaich Bar on the Saturday night and we had a great time. The bar person was very knowledgeable and told us many fascinating facts and stories about local whiskies and the distilleries. 

Breakfast was lovely each morning. 

Some parts of the hotel need a little TLC, a freshen up as a little tired looking.  

We were let down by the taxi picking us up from the distillery it was miscommunicated with staff in the hotel. It was cold so a little annoying to wait outside so perhaps double check everything is in place before you leave. 

However overall we really liked the hotel and are returning early April to do the Macallan tour and stay for 2 nights again.

Couples Getaway!

We stayed while visiting out friend and loved every second of it! Room (twin room )was fab,
We had breakfast there and it was delicious!
We had a few drinking in the Cooper dog and the staff where so friendly and knowledgeable.
You where made to feel so welcome and our dog was spoiled rotten by all the staff especially the staff on reception!
We will definitely be back again! 
I can't thank them enough for making us feel so welcome and for such amazing service.
