What a brilliant place, we had our wedding party there they where very accommodating indeed .
Staff where brilliant we got more than we expected.

Absolutely brilliant 

We spent a lovely night here at Gwesty Cymru. Room No 8 right at the top was well worth all the stairs, beautifully appointed, a bathroom to die for, very romantic. Great views across Cardigan Bay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, compliments to the chef! Will definitely be back.

Beautiful Seaside Hotel

When we arrived at the hotel, which is directly on the sea front, it was late. The the pathway to the hotel was well lit, as was the parking. The  staff were super polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Once we were shown to our room, the lady returned with some complimentary Prosecco, which, after a long day was the perfect tonic! 
The room was spotlessly clean, had a walk-in shower, free WIFI and a great selection of teas,coffee and chocolates. 
Breakfast was superb! Everything was freshly cooked from good quality produce. 
Would recommend!

Great hotel - perfect location.

Went for breakfast staff were really friendly, breakfast super tasty I had the mushroom Bruschetta with an egg! Kris who was serving me told me there was live music and spoken word later which I went to see and was amazing, they have loads of cool events on and beautiful view for a drink in the summer.

Very comfortable hotel, and very welcoming staff. Also a great location where you can just step out onto the promenade. Although possibly not a frequent issue on the west coast of Wales, we really appreciated the air conditioning in the unusually hot weather!

Comfortable hotel, friendly staff, great location.

This hotel was highly rated on TripAdvisor.  It was not what we expected.  Yes - it is well located on the promenade.  The staff is attentive and helpful. The breakfasts (not included) were delicious.  Good wine selection.

But - being on the Promenade it is quite noisy, especially if the window needs to be opened for air. And only 1 of the 3 bay windows opened - the other 2 were painted shut.  That did not help with a stuffy warm evening.

The bathroom is upgraded but it is a bit of a hazard because the toilet and shower are a step up. You can trip in the dark.

The furnishings are tired.  The 2 chairs by the bay window are worn out and uncomfortable.  The bedding needs an upgrade.

Getting luggage up to your room is a challenge. No lift, so pack light - the stairs are steep.

Parking has to be handled by parking several blocks away at the church.

But again - great location, great staff, great people watching.

Not as expected

Do not book this hotel unless you want to pay upfront triple the amount that you had agreed to pay on arrival!!
Booked on 10th May. Immediately the room rate was taken from my credit card followed by the same amount a day later. It took a week to get the first amount refunded. The day before arrival I was once again charged the full amount. It has taken nearly a month to retrieve the extra payment. 
The welcome on arrival was mediocre. The room which was one of the best rooms they had was ok but the windows were plastered with bird mess, the bath panel held up by blu tack and the leather bucket chairs had rips which made them quite uncomfortable.( shown in photos )  The view over the sea was exceptional but will be wherever you stay on the sea front. 
To try and redeem the mess up over the money we were offered a free breakfast ( I thought the rate of £160 already covered that!!) I wish we hadn’t bothered - the wait was very long -25 minutes before coffee!! The waiter then disappeared and the chef eventually brought out the breakfast. 
I never normally write scathing reviews - I would rather sort out problems at the hotel but there was never anyone around on reception, the emails were frequently ignored and the general feeling was ‘sorry but we are not going to do anything to help. ‘

DON’T stay here - their business matters are unscrupulous!!

Very comfortable extra king size bed in room with wonderful sea view (fantastic sunsets). Lovely welcome, luxurious towels and a shower like Niagara! Excellent breakfasts from a luscious extra special porridge or smoked haddock creation to a mega sausage sandwich. Will return to this family run homely hotel.

Wow, what a special place!

We stayed for one night only as a stopover to St Davids. The hotel room was excellent and the staff were very helpful.
The only downside to the hotel is it's lack of parking. It is on the seafront and is a bit of a free for all to find nearby off street parking. There are a couple of car parks about 10 minutes walk away but were not easy to find and the member of staff that advised us of these seemed unable to give us precise directions. What would be most helpful would be if the hotel provided guests with a street map showing how to get to the St Michael's church car park and the Council's North Street car park. Both allow overnight parking although  their websites indicated that they didn't!

A great hotel but parking a problem.

Wonderful greeting at reception - lovely breakfast downstairs. A little piece of Welsh paradise overlooking the pier and close to everything. I think I left my belt there, so if anyone finds it, please let me know. Again, lovely - comfy and traditionally Welsh hospitality.  Thank you!
