We've stayed at The Plough a few times now. John, the owner is always welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms have individual appeal and are well equipped with all mod cons. The main building is beautiful and dates back to the 16th century. John's breakfasts are brilliant - quality food prepared with care and plenty of choice.

The Plough is very convenient if visiting Oxford and is only 6.7 miles from Redbridge Park & Ride. 

Another excellent stay at the Plough B&B

Approx 300m from Thames path. Comfortable triple room (double and single bed) in the annex, stayed after a very wet walk on the Thames path from Oxford. John was efficient at check-in, taking our order for breakfast the following morning and then showed us to our room. A few mins (very wet!) walk to dinner at the Barley Mow, a comfortable nights sleep and a good hearty breakfast to set us up well for the next day of walking. Great location, comfortable, just what was needed.

Great location, comfortable beds

Clean, comfortable, slightly quirky room. Decent shower, comfy bed. Pleasant helpful hosts.
We were going to a wedding a few miles down the road and arrived at The Plough rather early hoping that there might be somewhere where we could change into our finery. Much to our surprise our hosts showed us to our room so that we could  relax for an hour or two before setting off. That was really appreciated!
We had a really good breakfast the following morning before setting off for home.


Would stay here again

The accommodation was comfy, clean & quiet. The English Breakfast was very tasty indeed. The proprietor was a little eccentric but very attentive. Excellent value for money. Much to recommend, I would definitely return.

Great Value

This is the second time coming here very welcoming   Very spacious room and very clean and very comfortable bed everything in description and more very nice breakfast to High standard I would come here more 

Beautiful friendly very welcoming

On first impression tis is an old thatched cosy cottage and when given the key to our room I was excited but it was really small, smelt damp, the bed had wood propping the legs up, there were cobwebs everywhere and spiders and the bathroom was so small, it was had to get dry after a bath. I had to dust the room before I could sleep in it including cleaning the expelair in the bathroom. It had tea and coffee and little mini fridge in the room but was off when we arrived and was very noisy so we turned it off. It could be so lovely and don't get me wrong the owner is so nice, offered to be our taxi for the night which was exceptional, but you can see he is struggling financially and the place needs some tlc and money spent on it.  The bedroom and the breakfast room could do with a good deep clean and bits of maintenance everywhere including a drain cover missing in the courtyard and a piece of board put over it!  Generally a good tidy up and this could be a little goldmine.  The breakfast was gorgeous with fresh ingredients and the best bit of our stay personally.

Beautiful building

Lovely old building with friendly hosts. I was a bit worried when I read a negative review on here, but I was very happy to see our room. New, lovely mango wood furniture. Really comfy bed and pillows, all lovely and clean. Huge bathroom with double shower and bath. Yes the floors were a bit uneven, and the walls and ceiling not even, but it's a really old thatched building. There was a fan, and a little fridge in the room which was brilliant. The breakfast was stunning. Gorgeous ingredients and plenty to eat. All in all, a good experience and I'd happily return.

Welcoming friendly Bed and Breakfast 

Spent two nights B&B at the Plough. Friendly hosts very helpful nothing too much trouble
Bedroom was in an annex it had a four poster bed which was super comfortable. Room spotless clean.  Great choice for breakfast their full English was great. Never stayed in 16th century  place before so this was as enjoyable experience.  Would recommend and revisit.

Wonderful place

Family holiday. Stayed one night. Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were cosy and clean. Breakfast was really good, real english breakfast,  made as you like it. The surroundings is a nice smallI village. I can warmly reccomend this place and time 😄

One night stay

We love the Plough B&B! The proprietor John is so friendly and welcoming and his breakfasts are excellent. We stayed in a room in the stable block this time and it blew us away - see the photo! We will certainly be visiting again.

Very highly recommended.
