The staff were exceptionally kind and thoughtful as we'd come for a family funeral. We asked ahead of time if we could check in early and they it wasn't a problem at all. When we checked into our room they had left both us and other members of our family in a separate room a box of chocolates with a note from the staff. It really was a special touch.

Kind and thoughtful staff

A convenient location to visit Oxford by bus as parking is difficult in Oxford  City centre. A bonus was to discover the town of Adingdon which is full of history and a pretty location situated on the Thames. 

Time to explore

Fantastic staff, friendly and efficient. Bridget went out of her way to find me a nice quiet room, as I had requested. Very nice greeting when I arrived, and lovely friendly chat with Bridget and another member of staff (sorry, I don't have the name) when I left. I felt very welcome and will be returning soon. The room was perfect: cosy, large, quiet and clean. A lovely stay!

Great location, easy level walk to town but not something I wanted to do twice in one evening when on arrival we werent told that there would be no restaurant over the whole weekend. We booked a table whilst out and the reservation was accepted. On arrival back to the restaurant we were told it was shut resulting in us having to walk back in to town to try and find somewhere else. It was getting late and we were lucky to find somewhere willing to take us on very short notice. Breakfast was only continental so no meal deals available. Staff at the Premier Inn werent very helpful and not apologetic. More information or an email before arrival would have helped. Rooms are dated but clean, It was our wedding anniversary and it could have been so much nicer had we been given more information. It woukdnt stop us going back there but has put a cloud over the stay. Parking is tight but on the whole not bad. 

Disappointing stay

Our room was on the back of the hotel and was.very quiet. Rooms and beds as you would expect, quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The location suited us, we did drive into Abingdon  as it was a bit of a walk, not sure how far, but it was conveniently situated to get about the area.

Place is a joke. Who exactly trains the bar staff at this place. 
You check in at 9.50pm after a very long hard day at work, throw bag in room and hot foot it to the bar only to be told it closes at 10pm. 
Under protest the barman serves up a beer and announces that he’s now closed. 
However, at twenty past he serves a couple in the corner that he says are his regulars and drink there every night. When challenged he tells me that they “prepaid” before the 10pm curfew. Obviously a service for a very chosen few and not the paying residents at the hotel. Absolute joke. 
When asked why he closes at 10pm he states that they don’t get enough customers!!!! Well they never will with a barman as useless as that one. 
Please take note Premier and fire him. 
Oh, before I forget, the whole place is filthy. The sign at the front lets you know what the rest of it is like. Best avoid unless your desperate.

Filthy and comes with bad service

The hotel was ok. I would use the word functional. It was clean though and the staff were all very polite and welcoming. The main issue we had was with the attached Beefeater which was part of why we stayed there - so that we could have a meal at the location and not have to find somewhere else at night. Easy.
Except when we walked in at 7.45pm we were told if we hadn't booked we couldn't eat. This despite the place being 40% full at most. I queried this and asked why we couldn't eat and the reply was that no 'walk-ins' were being accepted. Even if we were staying at the hotel.
What kind of restaurant won't accept customers despite not even being half-full. And it was a Friday night! The best thing they did was to suggest a pub 5 minute walk away which was nice and actually much better than the sorry Beefeater.
Breakfast was a similar disappointment - no cooked breakfasts were available, for reasons unkown, so our only option was continental. This was not great, there were no croissants or pastries, the sliced bread was stale. It was all a bit bleak to be honest.
The Beefeater had a big sign outside saying 'Under New Management'... can't imagine what the last lot was like but this place was as poor as I have experienced.
Yes this is a review of the Premier Inn and not the Beefeater, but when it is being sold as a benefit to staying it should be known that the 'benefit' is pretty poor.

Hotel was ok but Beefeater was terrible

Service and stay was great but Beefeater for breakfast was poor. over the 4 days of stay no cooked breakfast available and the continental offering was very dry...dried out bread, pancakes, crumpets and on the last day there was finally croissants. Not the Premier Inns fault, it's just the only option available.

Very clean rooms and the receptionist on Christmas Day was amazing, she let us check in early so we could get off and see our family. Very spacious and warm rooms 10/10 would stay again and recommend to friends and family

Fabulous

Friendly and efficient staff, the room was much bigger than we had anticipated.. A Beefeater adjoining hotel with price deals… The staff at breakfast and evening meals could not do enough for you. I would highly recommend this hotel..
