Stayed here in 2014, lovely then, lovely now.  We remembered the name of the place and Sigrids amazing breakfast so when returning to this area there’s no other choice for us, glad nothings changed and it’s still a delightful B&B, clean, comfy, everything you need - this place gets booked up very quickly and we can understand why

Return visit 

Stopped here whilst working nearby, this is a fantastic little B&B very clean and modern, lovely warm friendly service. Great nights sleep and the breakfast was fantastic. Shall be returning next year! 🚒

Super comfy bed!

Absolutely wonderful. Sigrid is an amazing host. Good parking. Easy to find. Lovely beautiful garden at the front. Rooms are fantastic. Spacious bathroom. Comfy bed. Brekkie was lovely too. All fresh and from local farmers. Made to order and brings out some toast and freshly home made jams. Would definitely recommend and stay again. and at a brilliant rate per night too. Oh and I love the little extras like water and an espresso machine out side your door.

Do not look for another b&b this is all you need and more.

Not only was the hostess very welcoming, but the room was also spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, there was a large shower, running hot water at all times.  We had a balcony overlooking the garden.  Breakfast in the dining room with very good choices.  Parking in front of the house.

A really welcoming B&B

The best B&B I have ever stayed at. The owner was incredible attentive and unbelievable kind. I could not recommend enough! 

The breakfast is a must try too. Fresh fruit and jam to go with a selection of breads before you pick from a great menu or homemade foods!

Lovely experience

I have had the pleasure of staying at Rafters a number of times on business trips to Oxford and have always been impressed with the place. Sigrid is a delightful lady (also met her husband Arne on one occasion) who cooks a first class breakfast and the rooms are very clean and comfortable (apart from the water bed in one room, it may not even be there now, but I found it horrible and ended up sleeping on the floor).
That did not detract from my overall impression of Rafters, however, so I would have no hesitation at all in recommending them.
I should add these visits were in the mid 2000's, I just never got around to leaving the review until something reminded me today!

Probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in

We were send there by Booking.com when our original booking in Oxford was messed up. Even thought it's a B&B the room [extra spacious] and enormous, superb bathroom looked more like a 5 star hotel. The bathroom was huge, with both XXL bathtub and big shower cabin. Our room contained also a private terrace which we sadly couldn't used due to the bad weather. The owner is a lovely lady who will serve you the most delicious breakfast

Excellent B&B

Rooms very nicely appointed. I was in a single which was small but had everything I needed, bed v comfortable and ensuite v good.  Breakfast choice was excellent and host was so friendly and helpful.  
Only negative was doors to rooms tended to bang shut if guests not careful and soft close mechanism would stop this. Was great location for frilford golf club where I was playing a comp.

Excellent B&b

Impeccable service, beautiful rooms, amazing breakfast. Can’t fault it. We booked the same day we stayed and asked if a vegan breakfast was possible - it certainly was! Loved the home made hummus especially. Thanks Sigrid.

Superb B&B

If you're travelling in the Oxford area, this is the B&B I'd recommend without a shadow of a doubt. 

Since this was our second stay, we knew exactly what to expect: a professionally run B&B and a truly warm welcome from Sigrid. Right from the start, she made us feel right at home. During our stay, she gave us some useful tips for the area. Her freshly made breakfasts were still as delicious and beautifully presented as we remembered and there is plenty to choose from. Everything is prepared with a true love for food and a keen eye for detail. The ample off-road parking also remains a big plus. 

We booked the superior room for five nights (because we liked it so much two years ago), which is  very spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. It has a large bed, a big wardrobe (very handy if you are staying for several nights), a sitting area, a desk, a luxurious bathroom and a private balcony, which we got to enjoy more this time round due to the beautiful weather. There's also a mini fridge on the landing, stocked with some cold beverages, all sold at very democratic prices. 

B&B Rafters' location gave us the opportunity to re-visit the following gorgeous Cotswolds' villages: Bibury, Lower Slaughter, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water (we can recommend The Chestnut Tree for a cream tea) and Broadway. 

A must for William Morris fans is Kelmscott Manor, which will close for a couple of years for some necessary repair works till May 2021. 
For fans of "Chief Inspector Morse", there's the Boat Inn located in Thrupp, which offers good pub food, has a parking at the front and a big garden at the back. The pub, which is beautifully located, has its own "Morse Room" with a couple of photographs of "The Last Enemy" from 1989 (so don't expect dozens of them). 
We also visited Aston Pottery, not far from Bampton, which is ideal if you are looking for an original gift or souvenir and is much bigger than we expected. It has a large tearoom and some gorgeous flowers on display in the "Jubilee Walk" next to the car park.
