We went to visit Sutton Hoo near Woodbrige in Suffolk.It is where the 
greatest archeological  discovery in the UK were found in 1938. The 
remains and treasure of an Anglo Saxon king from the 6th century.
We stayed overnight at  an idyllic  B+B in the heart of the  Suffolk 
countryside  but only a five minute drive from the estuary of the 
River Debden  ,one of the finest beauty spots in the UK. 
We decided to go after seeing the film " The Digg  " which tells the 
story of the discovery.
Our B+B  run by Helen was  exemplary . There are two chalets on the propery
but we stayed in the house. We had  an en suite bathroom  and kitchen. Helen 
cooked us a delicious English breakfast in the morning. 
The gardens of the Thatched  Farm  are a pleasure to sit in. We shall go again.

Idyllic visit

Me and my partner were looking for a place to stay overnight on a weekend trip to Suffolk and we're glad we made the right choice! Very scenic, idealic, quiet and lovely presentation. The room was clean and the facilities excellent, Helen was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome with a great breakfast to set us off the following morning. Wish we could have stayed longer, highly recommended!

WOW !!!!

A beautiful location for our one night stay on our tour around Suffolk. The thatched cottage and surrounding gardens are amazing. Our bedroom was tucked under the eaves and the private and well fitted bathroom was a short walk along the corridor. Breakfast was served in a private dining area and offered a varied menu for us to chose from. Lots of information was available and the advice about a restaurant/pub on the river was spot on. Highly recommended.

A hidden gem

Helen is the perfect host and greeted us as we arrived offering tea and coffee - very welcome after a long hot trip.  She invited us to sit in her beautiful and extensive garden .  The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable.  We have small appetites for breakfast but could see that the menu of offerings was excellent and what we had was delicious.  Would highly recommend for short or long stay.

A lovely tranquil stay

We stayed 2 nights in the most delightful cottage. The bed was very comfortable, the sofas were too! Helen is a lovely host and cooked up a delicious breakfast for us each morning. The gardens are beautiful and the birds, squirrels and ducks love it here too. Thank you Helen.

Very comfy and quiet

Stayed 4 nights and could have stayed longer!  We had the ground floor room which has a shower room connected along a hallway - all private, no one else uses it.  The sun room is for exclusive use of this room.  TV in bedroom and sun room.  Tea/coffee making facilities, also bottled water which is a nice extra.  Helen greeted us with a pot of tea and biscuits.  Fab breakfast which was served in the sun room.  Beautiful garden, plenty of parking.  Free WiFi.  Went to a wedding at Woodhall Manor, an easy 15-20 minute drive away.  Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Lovely b and b

Helen made us very welcome, the accommodation was very clean and the breakfast was excellent and very substantial. My only criticism was the bathroom was not en suite and although this was a slight inconvenience it was not a major problem as we we're only staying for a couple of days.

If you want to explore Woodbridge, Ipswich and the country side and attractions of Suffolk then this is a good quite spot to base yourselves. 

There are some good restaurants close but you will need to drive to them.
