Alderley Edge has changed a lot - the quality of this pub has not. As good as ever - staff polite and helpful, breakfast excellent - every bit as good as when I first stayed there in 1975!

Only problem is you have to trust people to shut the door of the lift!

GOOD MEMORIES RECALLED

The room has clean and tidy with plenty of hanging space. The bed was probably queen size and very comfortable. Everything worked but some thing looked a little tired. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel food was good. The breakfast was amazing. The first morning I manage to eat just over half. The second day I had a much lighter dinner but still was unable to quite complete the breakfast the next morning! The hotel has free parking and plenty of space. There is a lift if you need it for the upper floors. If I was in the area I'd definitely stop there again.

Nice hotel, great staff, unbelievable breakfast

We stayed here with our friends over Xmas and had a lovely time. We went into the village in the day and chose to eat here in the evening. It’s ideally located and has good parking. The managers and staff were all very friendly, fun and helpful. The food was delicious that evening as was breakfast the next day. One of the managers suggested a very nice walk to look over The Edge after our breakfast which was a great shout and what we all needed to sort us out! We would all definitely recommend this place to others

Great pub, great food, great location

We wanted a cheap hotel overnight before our flight from Manchester.
We arrived at 6pm and I booked the restaurant as it was the highest rated in the area and I know being a Greene King I could use my discount.
We were firstly blown away by the food…better than a recent Miller and Carter meal at half the price.
The restaurant staff were kind,attentive and friendly. 
It wasn’t busy,maybe as it’s straight after Christmas.
We enjoyed our meal and then retired to bed.
Firstly the reviews(some)are unfair. This is an old hotel,I’m told due to be renovated by 2027 but for the price I loved it’s quirkiness.
The receptionist (sorry I forgot your name…Saturday January 6th and from Rotherham) was friendly and interested in where we were going. You don’t often get receptionists that want to talk and she was lovely and gave me more tea and sugar.
The lift (quirky) i loved it as it was old and I remember lifts like this as a child but they only accommodate 1 person and a suitcase.
Fine my partner walked the stairs.
The room was old and yes there was a crack in the sink but all the bedding was clean and comfortable. There were toiletries and nice tea/coffee plus biscuits.
The shower and bath were great and lovely fluffy towels.
Check out was easy and we had a 20 minute commute to the carpark for our trip.

I will stay again next time we travel from Manchester and hope to visit the village too as it looked beautiful with the fairy lights and the outside dining…we would eat at The De Trafford Arms though.

Well done

Manchester Airport hotel stopover

The staff were all amaizng from start to finish so friendly felt so at home.
So honest I left my ring on the wash basin side. In the reception W.C. they found if & kept it safe until we returned. Thank you all loved it wish we could have stayed longer x excellent.

Wedding bash

I brought my mother to have lunch on her 84th birthday.  We were greeted by Helen, who was the perfect host throughout: interested, energetic, lively and great fun.  All of the staff were exceptionally courteous and friendly.
The food was outrageously good and beautifully presented.  
The dining room is spacious, warm and made a very pleasant space to spend the afternoon.
Much to our surprise and delight, Helen magicked up  a lovely surprise birthday present.
We shall return.

Above and beyond - a memorable experience.

Nice comfortable rooms and great value for the area. Food was again great value, overall a great place to explore the area or stop over before a flight from Manchester airport (our next excuse to go to Alderley Edge).

Comfort, value and great location!!

We stayed here for 2 nights as a base for walking for which it is excellently located to walk in East Cheshire. The lovely walks on Alderley Edge are within 2 miles of the hotel. Parking at the hotel is easy and the rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast is good and the evening menu is excellent too. We ate very well both nights and the serving staff are excellent. Big shout out for Helen here she is a star, very attentive and friendly. It's a proper pub too which is a rarity in Alderley Edge as there are a lot of upmarket wine bars as you'd expect in this area, although we didn't actually see anyone famous! (unless we didn't know they were)

An enjoyable stay

Never having visited this area before we were very lucky to stop off at the De Trafford Arms. We were only passing through so did not experience the hotel; just the bar/restaurant. It's beautifully presented, quirky and full of character. Helen looked after us and was a total star: beautifully presented, quirky and full of character also!!!!! The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. Such a shame we live so far away but, if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely visit again. And thank you, Helen, for making our time there so enjoyable. (Hope you're not offended by my humour). Sarah

Perfect visit

We’ve just had an early dinner at the de Trafford Arms.
We were extremely impressed by everything.
The service, atmosphere and food were all first class.
The food was tasty, hot , reasonably priced and served in a professional , friendly and timely manner.
Really impressed.
