Very nice room central base and free parking round the corner wasn’t an issue. Only downside was had to buy own towels (ones there bath size not bath sheet size). If you were looking for somewhere convenient to stay this is the place. Very quiet area.

Visit To Daughter

We had decided to visit Alnwick for the weekend as it looked like a lovely place.  We booked the Georgian guest house as the reviews on booking looked pretty good.

We had arrived quite late around 10.15pm and so looking forward to getting into our room.  One of the first things we noticed was the amount of dust and cobwebs around the room. The shower was in a small space with what might be mould spores on the ceiling. The towels also were grubby along with the rest of the room. We didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the bed and began to feel a little itchy ! We tried to rest until the morning  but decided to leave around 4.30am. Also quite noisy and someone had tried our door around 2am.
Having spoke with the manager she said she would look into this and get back to me. That was almost a week ago ! So we have lost money and had a terrible trip due to the room having no basic cleanliness... Extremely disappointed to say the least...

Suprisingly, good reviews !

A peaceful place and unbelievably central, so handy for all of Alnwick. We met the host family twice and they were very helpful and friendly. The bed was remarkably comfortable and we slept soundly, woken only by the birds singing outside. You wouldn’t think this was in the middle of a town. There is a large free car park round the corner so parking is very simple and I can honestly say this was one of our most relaxing breaks ever! Thank you to Tracy and her team.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Georgian Guest house in York. It was centrally located just outside the old city walls and an easy walk to all attractions. 

The host was incredibly helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable.  We would love to return here

Great place to stay

We thought the room was lovely when we checked in, although we were a bit concerned  at the serious lack of security to the building. When we were lying on the beds and chatting we were actually very shocked to see an awful lot of very dusty old cobwebs. Above the double bed and at the window, I got a towel to knock the ones off above the double bed and was really taken aback to see the top of the headboards was thick with old dust. 
The picture on walls have cobwebs around them too. 
I hadn’t looked at reviews on Trip Advisor before stay but the poor state of housekeeping made me look and I saw a post in 2021 & 2022 that referred to cobwebs. 
Whilst any homes can have them these are unacceptable with being there so long they are dust laden. 
I also feel your info needs to be clearer about what’s offered. 
I know it wasn’t expensive but for £25 more we could have been in the same set up, room only, superior standard and with better security than what we experienced at Georgian House Bed & NO breakfast. 
Pointless offering parking on site, 2 spaces with a tight alley access which you would have to reverse out of 😳 
Direct complaint to owner has been ignored. Might be busy with a duster, who knows?

Definitely not ‘wish you were here’

I don't like to leave negative reviews so will let the photos I've taken speak for themselves.  Booked for 3.nights stayed two. Amenities states misleading. 2 car parking spaces only and I got blocked in..seemingly by a staff member who was no longer on the premises.  No one to check me in and never met landlady. Only a nice lady who was making up the room next to me but so t know who she was.

Very disappointed.  However bed was comfortable and great location for seeing Alnwick. Photos of room attached.

No people there to deal with room was.ok but the bathroom stank. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and there is only two car park spaces. Top it all off despiting not having breakfast I thought it may be an option. No offer of anything just a note telling you where to go for brekkie. Parking is free in a lot of places but have to go up a big hill to do so which is inconvenient especially if you suffer back problems. It's average at best for a base but if you want a good experience you'll be disappointed. Also the phantom people you never see invade your privacy by coming in your room every day and make beds etc. Unless you authorise that they should boy be coming in to personal things as we.had money in the room we had to hide as a result. Definitely go Alnwick as.its brilliant definitely don't go here to this b and b though as it's far from brilliant!

Bed no breakfast! 

Well what can I say if you are a asthma suffer like me don't stay cobwebs and dust everywhere even found earing thats wasn't mine I get its a old property but if you've not had guests in for a while you check the room before you let it out and make sure it's clean and free off cobwebs and dust room looked as if it had not been cleaned in a while glad I took a extra inhaler with me as boy did I need it 



Was very disappointed we stayed in room 3 which was a very very small double, we were there for 4 nights and nowhere to put the suitcases, no wardrobe, so we had to lift the suitcase on to the bed every time we needed anything. Shower in a box in the corner of the bedroom -  awful, toilet down a ramp - awful, tv didn’t work !!! And no mention in the booking that no breakfast was served when we booked a b&b. Never saw anyone on site I assume they were scared to meet their customers in case they brought all the issues up

Look else where, we were very disappointed

Not a great place to stay, apart from its location there's not much else positive, owner didn't have any contact with us, lots of dust and cobwebs, the en-suite is a shower in a cupboard with no toiletries, not clean and very noisy
