This is the loveliest place to stay in The Lake District. Beautiful rooms, amazing breakfast, lovely hosts Anne & Steve have thought of everything you need, wine glasses, corkscrew, torch, hand sanitizer, lovely toiletries and homemade shortbread biscuits. We have stayed several times, and hands down wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting this part of the country. Always a roaring log fire in the guest lounge. Walkable to Hill Top (Beatrix Potter's house) and to the local pub The Tower Bank Arms, and The Sawrey House hotel which both do evening meals. 5 minutes drive to lovely Hawkshead where more places to eat and nice gift shops are available. Hosts are also eager to recommend walks and other good places to eat. Brilliant base from which to explore the beautiful South Lakes.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Superb bed and breakfast. Everything is spotless.  Our room overlooked the garden and had a lovely little window seat. There was plenty of storage space and coat hangers. The bathroom had a powerful shower over the bath.  It had also had good quality toiletries. We were kindly supplied with a torch on an evening as there are no street lights. There is a guest sitting room with television and open fire that is great for chilling out in after a long walk on the fells.  Plenty of choice at breakfast.  All the food is well cooked and well presented. Ann and Steven are the perfect hosts.  I can't recommend this B and B highly enough.

Ist visit and we have booked our second...

My daughter and I stayed for one night at this delightful farmhouse B&B and Ann was a wonderful host. The room was warm and well-appointed - sadly we didn't get a chance to try to the breakfast but the range looked excellent. The guest lounge was decorated for Christmas with a real fire and also had great wifi - perfect for daddy and daughter alike... we'd definitely look forward to returning.

Just so lovely to be back staying at Bellegreen again 
Ann and Steve are wonderful hosts and cannot do enough to make your stay a comfortable and enjoyable one.
The room was lovely and comfortable with a great view of the garden and a super bathroom with a big bath to relax in at the end of the day .. what you need after a day in the Fells.
The breakfasts are delicious,  a super menu of local produce available and Steve ready to top up the tea, coffee or toast if you need it.
Bellegreen is in a really good place for walking, fishing .. water sports on Lake Windermere and places of historic interest. … and not forgetting great food in the local pubs and Michelin starred restaurants in Ambleside, Windermere and Cartmel. I can’t think of a more enjoyable place to visit

Wonderful to be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Anne and Steve at Belle Green. A beautiful whitewashed old farmhouse which has been tastefully decorated inside. Our room was comfortable and clean, though the mattress was a little hard for us, and the bathroom was quite large and immaculately clean. Loved the complimentary toiletries and was glad to see they were refillable. The homemade shortbread buiscuits were yummy and it was lovely to have fresh milk for our cups of tea. We were made to feel very welcome, including our dog who stayed for free. Had a wonderful, fresh cooked breakfast every morning which set us up perfectly for a nice long walk in the stunning, surrounding countryside. Would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again. We recommend that you make dinner reservations at the local pub prior to arriving as they are very popular but small. Hawkshead is also good for evening eateries with a few places taking walk ins.

Lovely stay x

Ann and Steve are fantastic hosts. We stayed for a weekend with two dogs in August. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was immaculately clean and had everything you could possibly want. Breakfast wow so much choice and everything we tried was delicious. The garden is gorgeous cannot recommend this place enough. The homemade plum jam is lovely thanks Ann my mum likes it too.

Best B&B we have visited

Lovely rooms, great breakfasts and a beautiful location, what more could you want? And all in the middle of a heatwave! I'd recommend walking or cycling the western shore of Windermere, and finding Claife Viewing station and Tarn Hows. Andy and Ramona

Lovely short stay!

Had a lovely two night stay. Very comfortable and a fantastic breakfast. Lots of choice and delicious too. Lots of walks in the area and a good pub in the village just a short walk away. Was very dog friendly. Would love to go back for a longer visit sometime.

Lovely base to explore the area

A wonderful cosy bed and breakfast. We were welcomed with a smile and the owners made our stay very enjoyable. Our room was comfortable and we had a good-sized bathroom attached.
Breakfast was excellent and the owners were really helpful with things to do in the area. Thoroughly recommend this B&B - it felt like a home from home
