Been staying at the wanslea for years now, before Steve, Tina and Charlie arrived and it was good then but they've definitely taken it to another level. It feels like our second home, from arriving to leaving they are genuinely interested in how you are, what you have been doing, spotlessly clean, wonderful breakfast. Ample parking and if not at the guest house there are free parking permits available, not everywhere does that! 

Second Home!

Just an amazing place with great hosts tina and steve who are the nicest couple you could meet . great rooms great price great breakfast . we been coming here for years and it never changes it just gets better and more at home every time we come . the rooms are huge and spotless and we watched the fireworks over the lake from our room . stunning place well worth a visit

The owners were some of the nicest people we have ever met, room was really clean and bed was comfortable. Location was really great, can park your close nearby and they give you a permit so no need to pay. Couldn’t recommend more! 

Perfect stay

Place was absolutely spotless, the owners, Steve and Tina were fantastic, could not fault the place under any circumstances brilliant stay definitely recommend it, will certainly stay there again. Would love to see a cozy lounge with a bar, but that’s my personal choice

Fantastic

Just got back home after a 3 night stay at The Wanslea Guesthouse, what can I say only Superb stay 
Had a warm welcome from Steve and Tina 
The rooms were really nice spacious and very clean 
The breakfast was up there with one of the best I’ve had  just as I like it fresh and served hot couldn’t fault it 
Tina’s homemade flapjacks were delicious 
Will definitely return when in staying in the Lakes again 

Great Stay 

5 minutes walk from centre and across the road from garden centre this b&b is immaculate. We had a large room with a lovely walk in shower. Breakfast is ordered the night before and both mine & hubby's was perfectly cooked with plenty of toast and tea/coffee. A great place to stay and a lovely couple AND Charlie the Bedlington terrier.

A great place to stay

This is a very well run B&B, it’s spotlessly clean, communication is great before you arrive. Steve & Tina are friendly and great with advice. The breakfast is excellent, they only have a 45 min window for it from 8-8:45, which isn’t a problem for me but something to bare in mind if your not an early riser (though most people in the Lakes are up and about) Anything you need replenishing in the room you just ask for and it’s there by the time you get back. We were in room 1, extremely good sized, bed was a double & very comfy but we are only  5ft9 & feet at the bottom,  not a problem but maybe check if there are longer beds in other rooms if you are tall.
There’s parking for 4 cars outside property & then a pass for the local car park 1 min walk away… go with this option if you are out and about in your vehicle during the day as it’s easier to get in and out of. Location for town is 5-9 min walk. Would definitely stay here again

Excellent run B&B

Lucky to find a vacancy at a week end .Price was right ,Room was large good shower no water problems.
Breakfast first rate .
Recommend if vacancy jump at the chance ,this is one of the best in Ambleside.
Car park takes four cars the size of a golf.

A Rare Find

Wanslea Guest House
On Lake Road, 
Is, to us, the perfect Bed Breakfast abode. 
Stunning rooms, sparking  clean, 
With hillside views, setting the scene. 
OK the weather ain't always sunny, 
But this  B&B is great value for money! 
The breakfasts are the best we've eaten, 
Tina's sausage and bacon cannot be beaten! 
Car parking available with passes for free, 
And even discounts, at a few places for tea. 
What more could you want? It's hard to say, 
Though we can  guarantee it will be a welcoming stay! 
So thank you to the hosts, dear Tina and Steve. 
It's the ideal place which we always hate to leave.

Wanslea. The place to be! 

Just spent 2 nights at the Wanslea ,after staying numerous times in Ambleside this was my first stop here and would definetely recommend it and will certainly stay again.
Good comfy accommodation with an excellent breakfast and the hosts cannot do enough for you.
Good location a 5 minute walk into the centre of Ambleside and free parking.
