Everything about this  B & B is just right. 
Reasons we picked it; location with a guaranteed parking space. 
There’s a lot more to it; owners are friendly, everything you need in the room & just ask them if you need anymore. Very useful leaflets of local walks. Everywhere is spotlessly clean & warm. The breakfasts are absolutely lovely 

New year getaway 

We have stayed here numerous times and left many positive reviews  but we thought another one was due as it’s been a few years since our last one. All we can say is this place never fails, hence us going back time and time again. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean, the breakfast is by far the best we have ever had and the hospitality from Matthew and Lucy is just so personal and welcoming from arrival. We would never stay anywhere else - our most recent stay meant us cancelling a booking elsewhere, losing a deposit and paying extra to change ( booked alternative as Elder Grove not available at time )  but it’s definitely worth the extra to stay here.
It really is an amazing bed and breakfast, great location and run to a very high standard. Highly recommend!

Simply the best in Ambleside

Just back from a 4 night stay couldn't fault it breakfasts are fantastic

Great that there is free on site parking 
Stayed at another establishment twice a year for the past few years but has become to expensive. Think we have found our go to place in ambleside we will be back 100%

Couldn't fault 

We stayed at Elder Grove for 3 nights and had the most lovely time. The rooms were extremely clean and the beds were extra roomy and comfy. From the moment we arrived Matthew and Lucy were friendly and attentive and made us feel at home. As we weren’t from round Ambleside they ensured we knew where we were walking with helpful guides to hand (however it was in a prime location close to shops restaurants and walks). Breakfast times were relaxing and the food was very tasty with lots to choose from and there was a bar space where you could get drinks if you fancied one on an evening and relax downstairs. I will most definitely stay here again on my next trip to the Lakes. Thank you :)

Perfect stay at Elder Grove

Just had a really great overnight stay at the Elder Grove B&B whilst on a  recent visit to Ambleside to eat at the Old Stamphouse Restaurant. Spotless room (room 11) with a super comfy bed. Cracking breakfast in the morning.  Onsite parking was a real bonus. Matthew was a great host and we would not hesitate to book again or recommend to others if we are ever staying over in Ambleside again.    

Superb Overnight Stay

When staying in ambleside. Elder grove b&b is a must to stay. Mathew and lucy are so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are lovely and spotless. And oh my god the breakfast are just fantastic.  You will not be disapointed. Once you have stayed youll also be writing  great reviews. 

Simply a must

We have stayed here on several occasions now and each time the accommodation has been excellent. Matt and Lucy are very friendly hosts and the rooms are lovely and clean. Breakfast is superb, with the locally sourced ingredients and Lucy's homemade marmalade. Will definitely be back.

Another fabulous stay

We stayed here for one night last weekend. Parking was one of our requirements for booking so we picked here. We arrived earlier than the check in so were lucky enough to leave the car until check in time. The room was on the top floor a lot of stairs but it’s an old house! The room had a king size bed and was immaculate the room had lovely touches -tray for dirty shoes, biscuits and the most amazing bathroom products. I’m picky about clean bathrooms and this was one of the cleanest bathrooms ever!!!(as was the bedroom)! A credit to your cleaning team. The breakfast was lovely and again attention to detail amazing!!! 
The bar runs on an honesty basis and was stocked well. 
Was a lovely B&B and we will certainly be back! - we will book a suite as it’s a lower floor!!! (Top tip if stairs are an issue)

Just lovely!!!

We have just come back from staying at Elder Grove, unfortunately this was only for one night, but we will be back. Matthew was very pleasant and humorous when we were first checking in. The rooms are immaculate as is the whole of the house. Breakfast was excellent, full Cumbrian, could not have asked for more.
Honesty bar was brilliant.
My family have said they will be recommending this Guest house.

Excellent Guest House

What a find we only booked 1 night for a birthday celebration, this place is immaculate, 
We were able to park up and were given our keys to our rooms before we could book in at 3.00, so we could go and look around the town. We used the honesty bar which was  so nice.

Moved breakfast tables for us  to accommodate the 5 of us. Breakfast was really lovely with lots of choice.

Well done Matt and Lucy, 

We will definitely be back
