Brilliant location in a lovely village. Checked in at about 9pm by going to the lily restaurant where the staff were friendly and helpful. 
Room was great, no complaints here - would definitely recommend. 

Park up in a bay and go to the lily where they will give you directions to a car park. We just left our car in a bay overnight as it was free until 10am and we were gone before then. 

We got there at about 8:30 and drove straight past Ambleside central (heading south) and watched the sunset at Windermere pier. Visited stock ghyll force waterfalls in the morning and then went up helvellyn (20 mins drive). Great location for all these things!

Brilliant location and great room.

Absolutely delighted with our stay at Ambleside Central. We stayed in a family room, with private bathroom across the hall. Both rooms had plenty of space and were immaculate. The location was great - right in the heart of Ambleside. Parking was about a 7 minute walk away, but we were able to stop across the road to drop off luggage and pick up at the end of our stay. Check-in was at the Lily Bar a couple of doors down and instructions to the parking were printed with helpful photos. My only complaint would be that I couldn't switch off the bathroom heated towel rail so it did get very hot in there. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Ambleside!

Great location, clean and spacious rooms

Great location comfortable room with the lily bar next door and the codes there chippy. No complaints on the room, parking is a little bit of walk maybe ten minutes and the location of the hotel can be a bit noisy in the evening, other than that I would recommend Ambleside central. 

We stayed in room 10, it’s was very spacious and check-in was easy. We were unable to get hot water from the shower but it was a warm day so this was welcomed. would definitely stay again if we are in the area. We heard no noise during our stay as the pub next door looks like it has closed. Parking was also easy to find and the fan provided was welcomed

Nice surprise

Simple, basic, comfortable hotel. Check in is at Lily bar next door. The bus stop is literally 1 minute away so very convenient for hop on hop off. The entrance door was a bit stuck but staff was very helpful.

Central, comfortable, nice

A fantastic hotel for the price. The hotel is simple and clean with no lounge or dining rooms but I prefer to be out and about so this suits me, there are lots of cafes, bars and resraurants in Ambleside so a basic room is all ypu need and its linked to Lilly's bar next door which also serves food.  It was warm, comfortable and nicely decorated, our room had a lovely iron fire place and there was lots of space in the room.

The only complaints I have is parking is a little bit out if the way so tricky if you have lots of luggage and you have to find a space to park and check in before they tell you where to park but we managed to grab a 30min paking space accross the road to unload so it wasnt an issue for us.
The shower only seemed to have 2 settings very cold or scalding so just one to be careful especially with younger children.

Overall a nice room in a fantastic popular little village for a great price.

Comfortable simple hotel in a lovely location

Had the top floor with a separate private bathroom. Room was a great size for the 3 of us, the beds were pretty comfy & the bathroom was huge! Location was 2 minutes away from everything.
The stairs were a bit of a chore especially after walking around all day but I feel it was worth it for the room.
Car park was a good 5min/10min walk from the hotel but with parking being an issue in Ambleside it was nice to have a designated car park.

Great price for a great location

The room was clean and well presented.  However, we could hear people going to the toilet and using the shower. 

We also had an issue with our shower as it did not get warm.  We ran it for around 20 minutes, using different settings and we even googled the instructions to check and we both ended up having cold showers.

One night stay, Dec 23

Great location, right in the centre of shops, cafes and resteraunts. Tea and coffee provided. Parking is not ideal if you have a lot of luggage, but did it appreciate it was free. Similarly, there were a few flights of stairs to go up. The electric showers, were quite noisy and you could hear when other rooms were using water. 

Amazing ice cream across the road at the fudge shop! 

Good stay

Stayed here with family. Do not stay with children on a weekend the bar next door is open until 1 am on Friday and Saturday and is very rowdy and loud even with the window shut. The family room one the bathroom is across the corridor which is very inconvenient and annoying especially in the night. 

Would only recommend this place for a base for one night max..
